    Excellent resto-mod. there is nothing like these old Big Caddy's. I feel that GM has lost the once Beautiful luxurious Look and styling to their automobiles. but seeing this ones paint and body panels left alone is just breath taking. Thanks for sharing this intricate detailed work with us.

    Nicely done!! can't say I like it being lowered, but all in all, looks great!!!!

      Yeah, not the biggest fan of lowering it, but at least they put air shocks on it. Maybe that could raise it a bit.

    Triste état !! Tout est á refaire , c·est du lourd , elle a été sérieusement abimée ...Un super moulin ! Quel plaisir pour un mécano de refaire vivre la bête !!....Au final , une belle restoration ! Félicitations ...

    Thumbs down for not knowing the difference between a restoration and a customization/restomod.

    I'm surprised at all of the jealous hater trolls leaving comments about this car. The average guy doesn't know how much incredible amount of work it takes to disassemble and reassemble a Cadillac of this genre, much less make decent upgrades like this bunch did. Great job guys!

      @danielgolus4600 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But it is not a true restoration. It's a modification using modern parts. Restorations come in many forms, the best being a like-new-from-the-factory, using all-original parts. Like going back in time to see it brand-new on the dealer's lot. These restorations are extremely expensive, but can be well worth it in the end.

    If I had had any idea what you did to that beautiful, classy car I would never have watched to the end, or even started it! Those wheels would be an abomination on a Ford Pinto.

    A great video on how to butcher an original car. Worth less now in my mind. It may be flashy but not a restoration. You may as well be like all those that throw together another 350 with a Mustang II front end and all of the rest of the cliche stuff. Yawn.

    Nice restoration of a beautiful car. Narration of the project would have been much better than the music.

  • @alanblanes2876
    @alanblanes2876 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Love the new steering wheel and rims - but, you know what?...the car would look better and be more practical if you gave it about an inch more ground clearance than factory original; but you have done a pretty tasteful resto-mod project.

  • @hectorherbert6585
    @hectorherbert6585 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd be curious to know how long in took in the 50"s for the men at the factory to build one unit..and that's a 57..the 53 is even more complicated especially with the first AC system installed on this car..!!

    Great job however I think the front wheels are a little to far forward. Is that the stock center and the larger tires look like they will rub when turning ?

    This car appears to be in good shape as it was. Should have left this Cadillac all orginal. I could see if the car was in terrible shape to resto mod it, but being in great original shape it should have been left original. Cadillac's from the fifties are far more valuable in original condition or restored to original condition rather than modified, but to each their own I guess. I hope he kept the original 365 engine and transmission out of this old caddy, so it could be rebuilt and put back in the car. I'm not at all putting down this person's work,just not the right car for a resto mod.

    not exactly a restoration if you put new parts over old dirt is it?

  • @ronniel104

    Ruined it

  • @joe6096
    @joe6096 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Meh. Some cars you can restomod and some you can’t. A ‘57 Fleetwood is one you can’t. Should have taken the money you spent and done a chalk mark frame off nut and bolt restoration. This is just disappointing. I started watching the video thinking it would be a restoration then as soon as I saw the rear end with disc brakes I said this was not what I thought.

    • @michelmendoza1769
      @michelmendoza1769 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personally four wheel disc brakes make older cars safer and more road worthy the drum brakes wear pretty badly

    I noticed you lowered the car. Doesn't that restrict where you can drive it?

    • @randyneves9701
      @randyneves9701 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would, and that is something that I wouldn’t do to a Fleetwood, it’s similar to what someone did to a Charger Hellcat near me, they lowered it and it doesn’t look good at all

  • @geneva760
    @geneva760 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks good. Is it possible (HA - forgetting speed humps, beer cans laying on their side etc) to drive with the airbags completely deflated - AKA - nice and low as it sits in the workshop? Have a safe and nice day all. CHEERS from AUSTRALIA.

    Ive got a 57 series 62b. Whats a build like that run?

    • @cadillacray57
      @cadillacray57 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Average cost is $75 an hour. Average time depending on cars conditions is about 1000 hours. If you have some skills you can save some money. But I’d leave the body work to the pros.
      I have a 57 series 62. She’s a coupe.
