Jeez, totally didn't expect all of this, got me to tear up. In the end my mind likes to picture the little boy growing up to work in the SCP Fondation, just to learn more about the box.

One thing I never understood about this SCP was why the scientist merely observed the decline and eventual end of the box? I mean I know they are there to Secure, Contain and Protect from any anomalies but this hasn't stopped them from interfering or even using other SCP's in a billion other situations. When the dragons began sending letters about what was happening and that their world was dying essentially from lack of inspiration why didn't the scientists put letters back into the box or try ANYTHING to interact with it? I mean even if they didn't try to save the dragons and just wanted to end the "threat" all they had to do was drop a letter in explaining that their "friends" were no longer on this side (true or not since the SCP foundation doesn't actually know who the children were) and give them the push they needed to leave long before the decline that took years and thousands of lives in-universe? Like, I know the SCP foundation isn't above doing some fucked up shit and most anomalies are mere curiosities to them but like seriously, one letter and you not only permanently secure the anomaly but you also help out an entire other dimension from collapse. Good job SCP foundation, really stand up shit.
@@Goldenkitten1 The Thing is even if they use some other scp to help this one it's too risky as it might change it's Function and may cause something disastrous
@@Nerium_Oleander13 This would be a good argument IF they didn't do this literally all the bloody time. We've seen so many SCPs crossed over with each other just to see what would happen, or extensive manipulation of an SCP to see if it had any uses. I just lost my dad a few weeks ago and I don't know if I'm ready to watch this but I love this channel and I really appreciate this community. The first time hearing this story I wanted it to be here with you guys.
In the original story (If I remember correctly) there wasn't the attic thing and all these events were happening after the box was contained Tho the thing is the "Here be dragons" after the paper giant boss fight there changed to "There were dragons" and that was the sadest moment
My headcanon is that the dragon returned to tell Dan but was greeted by researchers in a sad containment chamber and that Dan moved on and had kids and completely forgot about it
A thought that does comfort me whenever this SCP comes up and I find myself crying like my life was over, is the inplication that Fantasy did not start nor end with this kid. It was just the first time our two worlds could cross over with each other, and sadly the kid had more of an impact on Fantasy than the dragons had on our world. But while Fantasy ended up at war, that does not mean they went extinct. The last letter does state that they must leave the land with the ”magical portal”, but that they hope a new one can be established one day. Thus implying Fantasy is still out there. We need just believe, and maybe we will find it too.^^ Though I cant help but doubt that they still would view humans in a good light after the shit that went down...:/
As long as there are people who believe, imagine, and dream, Fantasy will never cease to exist. And where there is Fantasy, there will ALWAYS be dragons... So grow up, but keep that childlike wonder alive in you. It's the least we can do for our stalwart protectors :'}
This episode is a friendly reminder that not all SCPs are horrible terrible or evil monsters. Some of them are genuinely heartwarming, or benevolent. Here Be Dragons is one of those SCPS despite under the SCP Foundation’s hands it unintentionally ends in tragedy for the dragons.
Penny Nuzzling Daniel got me choked up, the final goodbye note broke me. And once that song played it was over 😭 I love games like this even though they break my heart into bits......just like the dragons god damnit! I really hope to see more games like this from you IGP this was a real pleasure to watch even with the heartbreak
First time ever hearing or seeing something about this and...fuck. This had me hooked from the start and as soon and the dragon nuzzled his hand, I start to tear up a bit. The shreds made it worse, but the "Fly with me" part and seeing the pictures and memories pop up during the song fucking broke me. I absolutely love stuff like this.
My cat has been my companion for 18 years, she has kidney disease and is pretty much at the end of her life as of now. It's just a waiting game. Then I had to go and watch this and the part of the dragon rubbing up against Daniel to say a final goodbye broke me down so bad and I'm hugging my friend so much right now. :(
Who would have thought a horror game could tear at your heartstrings like that. It's like the mirror lady's story of In Sound Mind. I'm so stoked this game is finally out
I never thought an SCP could ever make me tear up...and then I came across SCP-1762. Even without the full context of the story, it is truly heart-wrenching. Very few things have ever left me broken hearted, picking up the tiny little pieces left behind...and this is one of them.
This had me in tears, I struggled to hold that in, The music is amazing and so was the story, the game had amazing design, Man I hope to see more of this game!
I cried so much watching this. What an incredible story. I also think you ended the video well. I had to just sit there and collect myself for a bit after watching.

Let's introduce IT3. Penny Wise adventured in SCP-Foundation. Because his old balloon suddenly popped. We present the story of the Containment Breach v12
There are very few instances in which I become very emotional because of a form of art, but but the way on how the watercolor approach to telling the story reminds me of the childhood books I would read made me feel like I was a kid again, having an overactive imagination and letting it run free as I read each word and sentence. Add in the beautifully crafted soundtrack and emotional roller coaster it takes you on to explore the relationship between a child and his only friend while in quarantine, the latter in a cosmic conflict unseen by humanity save for him, and this will completely leave you bawling.
this might be the scp dudes memories, telling either his kid or grandkid of how they made friends with paper dragons, but obviously they had to make it into a story so they wouldnt get into trouble with the O5 council :) its just so sweet & the music, loved it *bow* Thank You for sharing IGP xxx
Oh geez, crying my eyes out from this video. Knowing what was going to happen due to reading thr entry/story on the wiki. But that ending, seeing the dragons in the stars, and the box that just hit me so much more. I am loving these videos and I hope to see more soon, great job IGP!
This made me feel things. Dust in the eye things. The music was exquisitely done and the storybook motif was so endearing just like the story. Very well done.
This story is nostalgic and at the same time sadly, remind me to old cartoon movies like Ernest And Celestine, Winnie Pooh, Neverending Story, and this is so amazing of this
In the 1762 article, the paper dragons mentioned that they appear differently now than they did before and the article suggests that they were more realistic and lifelike in the past because of the belief in their world. As whoever was interacting with them grew up, they started to believe less and less in the fantastical dragons and their world which was reflected by their appearance and the subsequent decay of their bodies and world. So in that sense, this game isn't truly faithful to the actual article. The dragons should have been flesh and blood and the box was probably more fancy like a wooden chest or something before it began to become "less real".
Daniel probably wasnt the first to have the box. The dragon did mention something about finally returning or whatever, even though that was clearly the first meeting between Daniel and it.
This was such a treat! One of my favorite SCPs brought to life like this, I honestly got goosebumps... I'm honestly just in awe at this game, you can tell that the developers put so much love and care into this!
no im not crying im just sweating through my eyes... This is really one of the most tear jerking stories in SCP. i love how they portrayed it as a story book, and connecting it to its current containment in the foundation. This story will always get me i swear.
Funny thing is, I watched this video like 30 minutes ago. Before it was listed as a video. I watched this video because it was the sequel to IGP's recent video uploaded. This video was unlisted before it even got uploaded. Loved the video. Watched the whole thing.
I did not expect a SCP game to go in this direction.. WOW.. what an experience and to see the box at the end being in containment in a SCP facility was a huuuge cherry on top.. maaaan. Thanks for the experience @IGP. I think I'm obsessed with the whole SCP thing now..
This SCP has to be my favorite one out of them all. I remember the first time I sat down and read it, I cried. To me, it symbolizes the destruction of the imagination and how the world does its best to stifle all creativity. Innocence is taken from children at such a young age. The world needs childlike wonder and creativity. Without it, life can be crushing and unbearable. “Here be Dragons”
This might be the toughest FNF mod I’ve ever seen (I know that it’s a SCP game I’m just meming). The combination of 5 keys (which is kinda funny since the kid in this story looks like a really young Shaggy), leftscroll and a beat map that doesn’t even go with the music all seem pretty tough to deal with. But the toughest mechanic that this game introduces has to be the blindness that you get while you are crying.
The implications of a world beyond this one. Dude how I've longed for that kinda of thing. However the scientific and economic implications of such a thing is unlimited in potential. Not only could we defeat these "giants" with our modern guns, but we could secretly colonize this world with our technology until we ultimately are at war with these dragons. Thus leading our colony into a fantasy world we see in anime... The end.
Wow, what a story that was told. It definitely was pulling on my heart strings. Keep up the great work IGP! I love how invested you were in this video. Can’t wait for the next one.
a part for the fantastic video and the unexpected turn: to answer your question about "what if the death rows get their freedom and know about scp", if i recall correctly, i've read in their "file log" that in the occasion a Death Row inmate actually manages to survive and earn his freedom, they'll give him amnestics to erase their memories about SCP
Another interpretation is that surviving Class-D are executed at the end of the month and the bodies incinerated. Then the new month starts with a fresh batch of Class-D Personnel. However, if a Class-D has proven to be exceptional with their work during the month, they may instead be hired for a permanent position at the site.
I didn't expect to cry over paper dragons but here I am. I held back the tears for so long until the spirits of the paper dragons flew over Daniel's song. This story is so compelling.
Been going through some stupid crap irl that has made me emotionally weak I guess. This made me cry a good bit man. I needed a good cry though, thanks.

Ill never forgot the first time listening to this at work i was literally crying in the back of the ambulance while we were posted🤣😅
I put off watching this for a while -- Here Be Dragons, favorite SCP of mine, and OML -- your title made me not want to watch it, but I also wanted to watch it, so I did, and oml - tears
This shit hit me so fecking hard, I spent 80% of the video just crying my eyes out ,,_,,
I have absolutely NO shame in admitting this brought me to tears.
IGP for the whistle part, in tune means having your pitch be right where the note isn’t too flat or sharp. And when you said no rhythm there was rhythm, rhythm is like the note lengths
Not enough games drastically change art style.
I’m not crying you are!
Beautiful.
Bruh this was 1 Best fantasy Stories you ever Hear and See in a Video Game
I swear good Game and Writing for that 10 out of 10 Rating for Me
My Theory for Ending tho:
The Kid is actually Working in The SCP Foundation and he is Owner Manager for keeping that Box secured in Containment while Dragons
Keep watch keep Us safe on The other Side doing their Part keep us Safe while we do Ours as The SCP Foundation
Loved it
my most favorite scp
I didn't know what to expect in this video since know very little about this scp, well i certainly didn't expect to cry. What an amazing story, it doesn't even have to be an scp.
