What is the best place to stay, as a first-timer in Panama City? Appreciate anyone answering my question! Planning going there this year.

We stayed in Casco Viejo, a charming old part of the city. We lived in an AirBnB apartment next to the Metropolitan Cathedral. It's a great place to explore colonial culture, historical buildings and cathedrals, as well as for walks. There are great views of Panama City's skyline. You can also walk along the fantastic ocean front promenade to Downtown.

You can also search in this neighborhoods: El Cangrejo (Via Argentina), Marbella, Obarrio, Paitilla, Punta Pacifica, Bella Vista. A place close to a Metro Station or close to the promenade (Cinta Costera). Depend on where you stay you can have more affordable places to eat. Avoid Calidonia, is not the best area to be around unless you are in Balboa Avenue (Avenida Balboa).

Nature did not bestow a beach on Panama City. There are many along the Pacific Coastline less than 1 hour away across the bridge over the canal.

A 2 horas de la ciudad esta el área de playas las mas cerca a la ciudad super lindas con hoteles y edificios , hay provincias a 6 horas de la ciudad con playas bonitas pero ya seria para ir de turismo y quedarse los días que gustes .

Panamanians avoid going out during the hottest part of the day. They have adapted well to their climate. After 3pm everyone comes out, especially on weekends.
