Astounding. Helen's level of intelligence puts my little bit to shame. She was stunted and still found a way to change the world.
I'd have like to hug her. What an inspiring, optimistic, lovable lady.
This is so amazing to watch her learn to speak and then to watch her speak.

All my life I’ve tried to comprehend how Helen Keller was able to achieve what she did. It’s nothing short of miraculous. Not only did she learn to communicate more eloquently than most seeing and hearing people, but she acquired knowledge to the point of becoming a superior intellect Beyond incredible. I’m curious to know if she believed in God.
I didn’t know this channel even existed and am thrilled to subscribe to it.
Trailing off from part one, I am still staggered at her writing prowess, her incredible articulate speech (she may not have been able to form words well, but her thoughts and interpreted expressions brought powerful and elegant sentiments!), the influence she had on so many powerful and famous people, and of course, her magnificent positive effect on the world! She brought such brightness and hope to other with disabilities; but she also illuminated the world, even in scarred regions of healing, like Nagasaki and Hiroshima! I am absolutely beguiled by the astounding footprint her life is making on society; and I still have part 3 to enjoy! This is a remarkable testament to a remarkable life!

The last part about the "eternal shrine" in Japan is VERY interesting because you seemingly can't find any knowledge or info of it online today other than this video.
Imagine if there's still a candle out there in Japan that Helen Keller lit herself in the 50's. That would be awesome. The right people need to look into this.

Learning about HK's journey is really humbling and inspiring. Have you seen the 2005 Indian movie "Black". it's about a blind, deaf mute's journey too. Thanks for sharing this documentary with us and preserving the legacy and story of HK.

the only thing i would disagree with her about is socialism and abortion. my mom was told to abort me before i was born and put me in an institution after. and my brain works. i have the right to be here because i have fought for it and i wish i could find work i could do with my irritating physical limitations. staying home all day with nothing worthwhile to do and nowhere i can afford to go is very difficult to deal with every day.

Wow, Anne had patience of GOD
Annie like all of us,was only human,I wouldn’t exactly say she had godly patience and in the beginning no doubt teaching Helen was very frustrating but she understood Helens needs yes she was very patient with her but I’m sure there were moments of frustration especially because beforehand Helen was used to getting whatever she wanted (I think her parents were so grateful that she was alive and they couldn’t bear seeing her sad or throwing a fit,my extended family was like that with me when I was little bc of my incredibly scary start)Annie was connected to Helen in a way few others would ever be or understand.

It kinda bugs me that after the world was introduced to HK that they still used the term "deaf and dumb".
Did Keller not prove that they're the farthest thing from stupid??

Helen keller because my daughter is blind and deaf just like you and she told me when she was out of school she said mama I have some just like me she said to me and her name is Helen keller and she loved you so much because she thought that she was the only one kid that was
Blind and deaf and she told me that all about you
The original usage of the word "dumb" meant mute/speechless. Deaf and Dumb simply meant unable to hear and unable to speak. Only more recently has the word dumb been used to refer to intelligence.
The on thing she was never, was dumb
dumb used to mean unable to communicate which says a lot about our society to make it into an insult :(
But you're right she was born to talk, just needed the help to unlock the door that she opened all the way herself
