This series deserved better. It really came into it’s own towards the end, and it deserved to go all the way.
Berman and Braga weren't in the right headspace when Enterprise began. They kept thinking Next series, but never though prequel. Had season 4 been season 1, it would have gone 7. B&B just blew it.
We should have had at least season 5-6-7

I could understand with Trip, he strikes me as loyal to Archer and his "other wife"..... but Are Hoshi, Reed and Mayweather _that_ incompetant?
@@bjbeardse life long trek fan, and i just stomached binging this series this week. I have to agree. Ez, should have focused on Vulcan, Tellar, Andor & Alpha Centauri [sns 1-3] then Romulans and Klingons as acts 2&3.
Jeffrey Combs is one of the most underappreciated actors of our day.
“Underappreciated?” Everyone raves about him. Who doesn’t appreciate him specifically ?
He's played one of the most beloved and hated chars in the Franchise!

I love Enterprise with all my heart! Still heartbroken we didn’t get 7 seasons. Sending a massive thank you to all those involved with the show on the 20th anniversary.
Seeing Shran on every Enterprise episode was like seeing Agent Franks on an NCIS episode.. Oh boy, this is gonna be good!

It can be overdone though. A bit like Brunt turning up too regularly on DS9. The plot between him and Quark got a bit boring IMO.
I always felt that they dropped Enterprise, just as it was hitting its stride.
Except for stupid xindi episodes i love enterprise they maybe coud have made Vulcan more like Spock

I loved Enterprise. Season 4 was brilliant if you ignore the disgrace that was the last episode. It's so sad that season 5 never happened.
"These Are the Voyages..." actually serves better as a companion episode to "Pegasus" (TNG). If you do that, it'll be an easier pill to swallow.

I can see better why the novel "Kobayashj Maru" ("STE", not "TOS") had to do with the Starfleet test Lt.Saavik took in "WOK" and Kirk took in the first JJ Abram's movie.The 'Pegasus' story Riker and Troi-and the short dialog between her and Data-were nothing more than an excuse to cut out important bits from "Enterprise". Preposterous!

The hurt came when UPN and paramount decided to pull the plug on “Star Trek” in 2005 but the tragedy and insult was the proposed Season 5 that was a return to both good drama and adventure that Fontana, Justman gave to us in the 60s.
I am not trying to be rude, but why do love Enteprise?

It helped me endure a broken collarbone and cracked scapula. 😖
The acting and concept were good. A show doomed by lazy writers pretty much rehashing other Star Trek plots with minor tweaks. Left so many possibilities on the table for plots involving our initial struggles to master warp drive and interstellar navigation.
I loved the mirror universe episode since it starts out like First Contact till guns start blazing as the humans take the Vulcan technology. And the 2nd episode starts without the song but showing history .
I think people still remember it for the early seasons' bad episodes and how erratic Archer was before his personality was properly defined.
I do still hope in vain that they'll bring it back for one final season set 10 years after season 4, just to wrap things up properly. And a remaster wouldn't go amiss either - its starting to show its age with its fuzzy CGI. I'd actually LOVE if they somehow replaced the CGI with practical effects like TNG had - but that's asking too much, it would be so expensive.

In my humble opinion, Enterprise may not have been the franchises strongest series, but axeing it was the biggest mistake they made.

The 'Columbia Refit' in which the NX Class was to have a secondary hull added to the ship to house a larger more advanced warp drive.
T'Pol was my favorite Vulcan ever! She had emotions yes, but all Vulcans have. Outwardly she appeared in control, even when she was everything but. She was very interested in Earth's cultures and humans, and before her assignment to Star Fleet she experienced and studied it: let herself experience emotions. Not in as good control as Spock, but better than Vulcan ambassadors who always showed vey much emotions. Usually anger and disdain.
And not to mention a scientist! Not some pew pew emotional mess.
When the show first started, she did little but look good and deliver her lines in a monotone. Soon they soon realized what a great actress Jolene Blalock really is, and the character really soared.
I agree since certain emotions might be useful in dealing with certain situations. How about a controlled release when event call for it. Remember Spock's reaction to Capt Kirk being alive in Anok Time TOS?
Sorry, I’m gonna have to disagree. A Vulcan with emotions is like Batman killing, in other words they’d just be Romulans without the head ridges.

Revealing Archer as a time traveller who tries to fix history would have also been a nice reference on Scott Bakulas first big role…

That was, to me ,the one drawback to this show. There was hardly an episode that was not connected in some way to time travel. It was greatly over done .
They had Dean Stockwell in an episode.

@@virginiaconnor8350 Their work on the Vulcan arc was amazing. Together with Sussman, they managed to do what Trek fans have been yearning for -- bring together the Tellarites, Andorians, Vulcans, and humans (a la Journey to Babel).
I doubt it. Executives coerced the temporal cold war on the show, as well as enterprise enterprise launching immediately.

Agreed, I was tickled to see him pop up in Lower Decks. I wish they would throw him in guest spots on Discovery and Picard.

No. The name of the series was, "Star Trek: Enterprise" NOT "Star Trek: Shran."
It's funny how being less Vulcan is portrayed as making them more emotional, when they've showed that the reason Vulcans don't show emotions is because they spend their life training to suppress their naturally hightened emotions, causing severe strife if they don't.
Well I do like the dig the female Vulcan give T'Pol about how they hide their emotions well. Kinda confirming they still have them.

It basically is the link. Giorgio's Asian and so was Hoshi. It's the only logical conclusion.
It isn't necessarily so, as I understand there are actually quite a few asian people existing now and presumably in the future. But yeah, I too figured Georgio was a decendent from Hoshi.

I was bummed that Enterprise got cancelled when it did. It had finally gotten it's legs. That two part Mirror Universe was one of the best ever Trek episodes of any Trek series in my view. These ideas would have all been cool.
Only because you enjoyed seeing Hoshi and T'Pol showing their bodies... Admit it.

@@tsdobbi I actually like Jolene's Blalock's slender waist, not so much Linda Park, but horses for courses I guess. But yes, I don't get hot and bothered by it, although it was nice to see that they don't need to wear girdles under their uniform to get that waist.

There were a couple of things you missed.
1: There was gonna be a story of how the Federation built their first starbase.
2: Another story was about the NX Enterprise getting a massive upgrade with a secondary hull, dedicated engineering section.
I knew about the NX-01 Refit but not about Starbase One. I thought it wasn't built until the 23rd Century?
Right. But instead they had to do more T'Pal episodes and more Hoshi episodes. Because sex.
By S4 I was ready to light the fire to burn it down myself.
I didn't know, but this totally makes sense. It seemed like an ongoing gag that the NX-01 was hopelessly outclassed in every conflict. But it just sucked for the story because there were never any good battles.
enterprise was so good, yeah they retconned some things but man it was my fav trek series. I wish it was never canceled.

TNG and DS9 are the best two but I do love TOS, Voyager and Enterprise too.
Bring back Enterprise! It was such a great show, I hope they can do a mini series of something similar. Archer and T'pol were great.
They could technically retcon trips death etc. show the holodeck story as being wrong.

my biggest disappointment with enterprise was the first thing that they did in a prequel was start a temporal arc. it just seemed like they had a fear about showing the actual start of the federation and that was just a let down for me

what others have said. Enterprise was excellent. Acting. Sets. Effects. Prosthetics. Wish it had gone to 5 or 7 seasons. I think they should make another series with a similar time-period, perhaps sometime between TOS and TNG.

In a mirror darkly caused me to want an ENTIRE SERIES in the Mirror Universe, guess i at least partially got that with Discovery and....to a very small degree will get with Picard Season 2 with a Prime Universe take on the Terran Empire.
I was hoping they'd get into the Romulan War.
Manu Coto was the closest thing modern Trek has gotten towards a 'Favreau' level showrunner, who respects and loves the source material and knows what Trek should be.
Michael Piller and Ron Moore were both pretty good too.

that would be rather boring. I like O'Brien, but he is not good enough a character to get his own series.
It would be interesting if we found out what he was forced to do that made him dislike Cardassians for forcing him to do it.
I’m reading the Enterprise Romulan War books right now and it’s definitely helping to fill those empty areas
Both "To Brave the Storm" and "Beneath the Raptor's Wing" would have made excellent seasons. It's so easy to imagine, and it's a pity these never made it onto the screen
@@kadria8338 Also, don't forget the 5 "Rise of the Federation" novels. If a continued series or movie isn't in the works, maybe novels can continue the stories if they're continued in the same way Manny Coto would have completed the series had he been able to do the 5-7th series. I think
Cpt. T'Pol-like Seán mentioned-could have not only discovered that her father was a Romulan, but was planning to kidnap her as a teen and taken her to Romulus to start an experiment that ultimately became Hellguard later and would later become Saavik's birthplace where Spock and his father discovered her, but he couldn't go through it and crash landed on some planet where she had taken a team and discovered him there and found him still alive and mind- melded with to get the truth or found his notes written in Vulcan and Romulan. The crew might've even had some suspicions about their new Vulcan captain.
Not sure I'd want an entire season set in the Mirror Universe. Maybe 2-3 episodes tops to set up "Mirror, Mirror" in TOS, but that's it.
I never liked Enterprise when it came out (aside from the mirror universe and Borg eps), but watching it back after Discovery and Picard and it's an absolute masterpiece. God, imagine liking characters? Or even knowing their names? What a luxury!
So discovery an picard must really suck i not can see them because they want money to watch i glad i not spend money on crappy shows

Braga admitted that he was making up the ‘temporal cold war’ as he went along. He had nothing planned out, and he had no idea who ‘future man’ was gonna be. Really bad way to start out a new franchise..
It is a bit bad doing it that way. I was told by a famous writer: Always know the ending before you begin a book or it will go on forever and never reach a conclusion.

I'd like to think it was a Na'khul manipulating them. They really didn't like the Federation and have access to time travel, after all.
Enterprise was the most aesthetically realistic,cool looking show. The color pallet and lighting for everything was so perfect and cozy, it just felt like a safe place to be while hey were out there far from home. I haven't been able to feel that from Star Trek since, its mostly flashing lights and epilepsy
My friend Helen had Epilepsy and couldn't go past Radio Shack due to its flashing disco ball in the front of the store in the mall. Spencer's with its posters and black lights made it difficult for her to enter the store. Fortunately, she never had any seizures when we went to the mall.
This video made me so sad that Season five of Enterprise was never made. Sometimes a series takes a few tries to get get it's momentum and this was one of those series, the last season was great, save the end. The idea of an entire Season in the Dark Universe was so compelling, sad it never happened.
In regards to having an entire season that takes place in the "Dark (Mirror) Universe", I completely disagree with that idea and do not find that idea compelling at all. I hate that idea. One entire season in the "Mirror Universe" would be overkill and entirely way too much. Especially considering there are way too many other good stories that still need to be told in the regular Star Trek Universe.

The Romulan was not fought between the Federation and RSE, but United Earth and RSE. It was fought between 2158-2161 according to a series bible from back in the day.

It would be amazing if they could bring back the original actors and make an animated mini series or something that will retcon the series finale.
There might still be a possibility of that happening.
Sorry, but an entire season in the Mirror universe? No, just no. One or two episodes would be fine, not an entire season.

I have to agree there. ST in all their previous incarnations have been set in our universe with only an episode or two dealing with the mirror universe.
Also considering how much Political Correctness goes into ST now, (in my view, making the stories pretty weak), I doubt the snowflakes would have accepted it.
Ent deserved season 5! It was just beggining to be great in seasons 3&4 and than they just cancelled it
actually no. The show was cancelled mid 3rd season，and fan campaign saved it for 4th season. So there wouldn't have been a 5th season because 4th season was already an extension on life line.

In hindsight (having seen Disco & Picard) Enterprise seems to be a much better show that it was given credit for. The last (live action & with ST in title) true Star Trek show till today. It's a real shame it never got that 5th season.
It's funny that Lower Decks is better than Disco.
Enterprise deserves a new attempt. It was a very nice show with 'lovely' characters. And tells the story of the begining of explorations very well.
What I would've loved to see is the potential refit of the NX series as well as some other new designs or refits to some of the series regulars.
Weren’t there plans to feature Col. Green, the despot from World War 3 that appeared in The Savage Curtain and in “archive footage” in Terra Firma, as a major season 5 villain?
Jeffrey Combs is an awesome actor at the same or at the least near the same level as Alice Krige.
And his portrayal as Shran was without equal.
The Time: 10-15 years after The Undiscovered Country.
The Ship: The U.S.S. Intrepid C, Excelsior Class.
The Captain: Suvok, as taken from The Bloodwing Chronicles, as played by Jeffery Combs.
I'd watch that.
Id just more fleshed out between The Undiscovered Country and an TNG

Enterprise Producers: Nah here's the throw away races of Suliban and Xindi as we pander to a post 9/11 audience.

I LOVED the temporal Cold War and didn’t like the Xindi arch as much as the previous two seasons
They could have connected the TCW into a Voyager story arc too.

A Star Trek show isnt going to make it only if the Starship is Enterprise or a ship we are familiar with . Dunno what happened to Avanar its in limbo
Bringing Tripp back and exploring the T'Pol and Tripp relationship. Plus Shran becoming a crew member would have made interesting plot points for the fifth season.
Plot twist. T-Pol and Tripp decide it's not going to work and T'Pol and Shran get together. Now THAT would have been worth watching.
T'Pol and Tripp were my favorite characters. I really wanted them to be expanded on more. I didn't like how Tripp's story ended. And yes to more Shran. He was awesome!
Enterprise was my introduction to Star Trek. I've binged it too many times to count over the years, and, ironically, I'm season 3 of it currently. I find it fascinating and nostalgic how much Enterprise's interior resembles the interior of the naval ships and subs of today. Being former Navy, the show does hold a special place for me because of the design aspects, despite it not being a military vessel.

I'd love to see it - let Picard et al rest in TNG peace and use the money to get the NX-01 crew back. Not gonna happen though :)

In my opinion, Enterprise really found its footing with season 4. It had some great episodes! I think if season 5 had been a thing we totally could have gotten the Romulan war and had it set before the creation of the Federation so it's just Earth/Star Fleet trying to survive a war with Romulus. It would have been great TV.
Yes, if it was done right, it would have been Enterprise's equivalent to the Dominion War arc of Deep Space Nine.
Just been enjoying Enterprise again recently. I think it is the best trek of all!
It was the first series that looked great from day one. And even though I liked Voyager, I thought Enterprise has less episodes I wanted to skip
Voyager had way too many stupid episodes. Especially pointless and dumb Holodeck Scenes. I hate the holodeck!
The cat people were also seen in ST:IV, near the end, after the Golden Gate Bridge scene and before the charges are read.

I think the show would have benefitted from broad strokes for each season - this is what I would have liked to see
S1: Voyage out, naive and optimistic - annoy Klingons, make mistakes etc.
S2: Gain experience, forge some firendly contacts (trade with Tellarite?)
S3: Resolution of the Andorian-Vulcan issues and coalition formed
S4: Dealing with coalition friction - new technologies, conflicts in command styles (Shran First Officer and NX-01 refit)
S5: Romulans attack when coalition doesn't fly apart as expected - Romulan War Arc.
After that if the show still has legs, a couple more seasons, if not, the Grand Finale can be the inauguration of the UFP
Pink Skin and Blue Balls would have been a great pairing on the bridge!

I love the uniform! Enterprise season 5 will always be one of the great what ifs in history.
I have to say that I'm 100% over the Mirror Universe now. Enterprise's foray into it was fantastic and DS9 also had a good ol' time with that storyline. But it needs retired. While the Lorca thing was a decent twist, I have to admit that I wasn't overly thrilled with their take on it...other than Captain Killy. YEW!
More Shran. That would have justified more seasons alone.

The only mirror universe story i want to see now is transformers shattered glass.
I also liked Soval and V'Lar. It would be interesting to see T'Pol renting with someone she thought she was formerly disappointed in, only to see they have something in common with-maybe V'Lar became a Syrannite too. If V'Lar and Soval were widowed, maybe they meet.

None of his crew had names, only billets.
Ok, so bear with me here. With the understanding that Linda Park is South Korean and Michelle Yeoh is Malaysian, it is my personal head canon that Hoshi is an ancestor of Georgiou. The last name isn't an issue, since Georgio could have a name passed on from the paternal side of her family. But this would explain why Mirror Georgiou is Empress of the Terran Empire in her time, since Hoshi used the 23rd Century Defiant to stage a coup and take over the Empire

Enterprise is finally getting its critical due by Trek fandom. I didn't bother getting into it when it aired in the early 2000's and I hope no remake is made unless with a new cast is presented as a bridge to Star Trek Strange New Worlds.
I remember watching the entire 4th season as it came onto air. Although prior to them airing the show, they slotted the show from earlier in the week (Sundays or Tuesdays) to what was known as the "dead slot" which was Fridays.
This show definitely deserved better, and it was getting very good too, and it was all cut short.
After 15 years, it's still a contentious issue, but seeing 4 or 5 different Star Trek shows in this day and age, and hopefully having them explain the untold stories on what could have been, it's actually an exciting prospect.

I loved Enterprise; I got me into Star Trek. One thing I don't get was apparently humans smell and Vulcans have to take smelling sedatives?
Yes, it was our sweat that repels some Volcans (but this was a mistake by first two seasons writers, that was ignored in later seasons so just drop it and let's assume it never happened)
How bout Archer and (Shran now commanding a Federation Starship) battling a Gorn fleet. Never forgave TNG or Deep Space Nine for not including my favorite aliens the Gorn in 14 seasons. Better yet a 1967 type Doomsday machine. Best Star Trek episode ever.
Did Marcus get fired? I understand that Adam is doing behind the scenes stuff, but damn they were a great trio. Adam, Marcus, and Sean. Now it's just Sean. Sean's awesome, but where's my boy Marcus?

I so wish that series had continued! After the original series, it's my fav for TV made Star Trek series. I do like some fan made series though better than TV-made.

Picard retcons & contradicts so much TNG continuity that I have to consider it alternate universe; something trying to bridge the Kelvin Timeline with OldTrek, but can never truly belong, thus nothing established in Picard is canon to TNG.
I wish they would do a season 5 of Enterprise. It can be set 15 years after season 4. But if they do... lets hope the current set of show runners are NOT involved!
I know it's a long shot, but I think we could totally still get a Romulan War series with the Enterprise cast, although I honestly think if we ever do get one, it will be animated. Easier to replace actors who don't want to reprise roles that way. Hell, it could just advertise itself as Enterprise season 5.
Tim Powell I think the Romulan war could’ve been their answer to Star Wars the clone wars series and I think this series should’ve aired on Nickelodeon and should’ve been made in 2006 and aired from 2006 to 2009 With three seasons (Who should make and produce the series i vote Steve marmel The former developer of Danny phantom i’m saying it should’ve been made by the same people that did Danny phantom) and it would be a micro series (similar to the clone wars 2003 microseries) like and comment if you agree
You missed out the most exciting plan, in my opinion! The idea of bringing Guinan and Q into an episode, and exploring how the animosity between them began.
Weren't Guinan's race assimilated by the Borg? I recall her saying something about it. Maybe Q instigated that the same way he did with the Enterprise in STNG.

The whole half Vulcan half Romulan thing to me is illogical. Romulans weren't gone long enough to gain a genetic separation from their Vulcan parents to be considered a new species.
IIRC Romulans are not pureblood vulcans, they've mixed with some other race during their trek. Not to mention that it's 'actually logical' to do some eugenics and gene-tinkering on vulcan side anyway.
