I am glad their are still some sincere and unpretentious people like yourself. Your videos are excellent. I like the down home vibe of your washroom. Your work ethic command respect! Keep up the good work. God you and your family. Ca from so cal.
Good Wednesday morning Nanny- Thanks for this jeans/overalls video. Good to know. Two overalls and two jeans. I wondered how to put through pants with zippers and especially the overalls. Love that reverse feature! Apparently my mother-in law had an accident or two with one husband and four sons in farm overalls :-O The wringer did not fare too well. It works, but has damage/cracks. There is no top bar over the rollers. See the photos I emailed you today.
Thanks I like to try and think through all the possible need to knows. So the video is actually helpful. Don’t want to just fill TH-cam with non helpful useless junk. O WAIT. To late. 🥴
My father wore bibs as a welder/electrician and my mother would safety pin the straps into the legs. I don't care for bibs so I don't have that problem. I wear jeans or coveralls. I like to clean off heavy mud from my work pants before going into the washer. I hang them on the line and hose them off. Takes only a few minutes and keeps the tank from getting sand everywhere in it. I have been around wringer washers since I was a little guy and still prefer to use them. I got suckered into buying one of those agitatorless washers 4 or 5 years ago. Looks like a work of art and just about as useful! If I needed a giant paperweight it would do nicely but as a washing machine it work's like a saddle on a sow!! I bought the Maytag I use now at an auction over 25 year's ago for half a buck! Other than a slight transmission oil leak it work's like new. I'm going to be 69 in May and I believe the 1950 Maytag will outlive me. Good luck to you and your family and I will be watching for more of your videos!!
Awesome story Gary thanks for sharing. I love hearing about people’s experiences. I love the safety pin idea. If I would slow down long enough to do something smart like that I’m sure it would be helpful. Lol.
My husband wears 501 buttonfly jeans. I cannot wring them. I just rinse and drip dry. I am going to attempt to wring your way. Thank you so much. I really needed this video.
I just found your channel today and started at the beginning and have gotten all the way to the newest video. Just wanted to check with you and see if you're still around and maybe going to have more videos. I thoroughly enjoyed each and everyone and did a thumbs up on each one. Blessings upon you and your family and I hope that you do at least update once in awhile and let us know you're okay. This is a very good place for a ministry of being positive and as upbeat as possible with what is going on today.
I do plan on making more videos. But I’m having camera issues right now. Once I do start back the videos will be whenever I can or have the time. Thanks for subscribing and watching. ~Nanny~
Do you have any info on how to upkeep or care for/clean these machines? I got one and it's really hard to find any information on it. You seem to have knowledge beyond your use and I'd love to get some insight!
How do you dry clothes in winter? And why not have Hoot make you some laundry line poles?? They stick in the ground and lift up your line so things don't drag on the grass.
I dry them outside unless it’s freezing weather. Then I do smaller batches and hang them indoors. We live in the south part of the USA and only have about 8 weeks of really nasty winter weather. So it’s not to bad. I am very familiar with laundry line poles. Made a few myself, even had one on the line at first. It broke and I never replaced it. Hoot tied the line a lil higher and tighter the other day and fixed the issue. The clothes lines I have now are temp. The area I want my clothes line right behind the cabin is not cleared yet. Still timber there. When it gets cleared I will be building myself some really nice clothes lines. Shouldn’t need line poles with them. Lol hope not. Thanks for your comment.
@@michael5089 we have not posted for quite some time but I do keep a check on my comments. Thanks for watching and I hope you learned something. I had a lot of technical issues at first. Then we amped up our work on the cabin to get it finished. I also started homeschooling lil bit. Just didn’t have time to put into it. I hope to get back to making videos again one day. I hope you’ll be there when I do. Thanks
Thanks so much for the overall tips! What about jeans - that big stud on the waistband and the zipper? Also, have could Hoot or you do a video on maintenance/greasing? Thank you! ❤️
Mine also leaks a few drops of oil out of the transmission. Kind of a common problem I think. I don't use my machine much. Just for greasy work clothes so I haven't done anything to correct the leak yet and have been using it for more than 20 year's. There is a video on TH-cam about doing heavy maintenance on a Maytag. I have not watched it but that might explain more about sealing transmission case's.
Honey you would love my clothesline. My house is a bilevel. Therefore the deck in the back is high. My clothesline runs from that high deck to the top of the garage. Nothing touchs the ground, not even sheets.

Fold button and zipper to middle. In other words fold back side to side so button and zipper is in the middle

@@susanmckinney8824 she’s right. Best way.
What if you use a safety pin on those skinny parts of the overalls to keep them from getting caught?
Your the second person to suggest that and it’s a great idea. Thanks. I’ll have to try it.
I could definitely use a wringer, if I had to.
my name is christy, I have a wringer washer just like yours and I’ve discovered it has a small oil leak under the washer, how to I fix it?

You have to replace the paper gasket.

Or you could get an automatic washer and dryer!
