In this video, the secret tunnels of Lahore Fort and Sheesh Mahal have been mentioned. Sheesh Mahal is a fascinating masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Shesh Mahal was occupied by Maharaja Ranjit Singh after the Mughal period and then the same building was occupied by the British Army. During 1631 to 1632, the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built Sheesh Mahal for his wife Mumtaz. Sheesh Mahal is also called the place of beautiful mirrors. Mughal emperor Shah Jahan lived in Sheesh Mahal with his queen Mumtaz. Sheesh Mahal was decorated in a beautiful style by carving beautiful mirrors. Precious stones like sapphire, emerald, panna, ruby were attached to the border of the main dancing place in front of Shesh Mahal but people have uprooted these precious stones because no one took care of it which is very sad. The walls of Sheesh Mahal are decorated with Paper Godleaf painting i.e. gold water painting. In the central part of the dancing place in front of the Shesh Mahal, there was a special place for the king and queen to sit, and in the very central part of it, the dancers used to dance and create an atmosphere of entertainment for the king and queen. In Sheesh Mahal, in front of the dancing place, there is a bungalow of nine lakhs (Bungalow Nolkha ), which was constructed at a cost of nine lakhs at that time. The ceiling of the Bungalow Nolkha is decorated with carvings on the rare wood of Kashmir, which also includes glass, and the wood has a beautiful paper gold leaf painting. The bungalow (Bungalow Nolkha)is a beautiful reflection of Roman architecture, the walls and pillars of this room (Bungalow Nolkha) were decorated with flowers and leaves of different colors and precious stones inside the white marble. Sheesh Mahal also has a beautiful make-up room and dining room along with bungalow Nolkha and its walls are decorated with various pictures of the old times like pictures of Mughal Empire, pictures of elephants, God Shiva, women, old flower leaves and old swings etc. But these old photos have been damaged to a great extent. There are also secret passages, tunnels from the lower side of this Sheesh Mahal of the Lahore Fort. According to the Walled City Authority of Lahore, during the excavation in the basement of Shesh Mahal of Lahore Fort, old rusty, black cannons of the British regime have also been discovered. According to archaeologists, several tunnels used to go from Lahore to Shalamar Bagh Lahore and Delhi and the rulers of Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort) used these tunnels for secret transportation in case of emergency. 400 years old tunnels have been discovered during excavation in Lahore Fort. At the foot of this historic Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort) of Lahore, there are still many hidden archaeological sites which are being discovered with the passage of time.
