Thank you so much ! We have wondered exactly what to do and this a lovely and very do-able “recipe.” We appreciate your selflessness in giving this information rather than selling it .

Nice video but you didn't say how long you should smell each scent for and how long a break between the different scents.

Chrissi I ordered the 30 ml amber containers from Amazon and when I got them they were plastic. Do they need to be glass? I will send them back and get glass if this is the case. I want to be able to give myself the best chance for smell training to work. Thank you.

Essential oils won't last as long in plastic.

@@LilySaintSin thanks. I already bought some other ones that were glass

It sounds like you may have parosmia. Have a look at our website here: abscent.org/about-smell-loss/parosmia. We have lots of tips and support both on our website and in our online Network which you can join from the website.

If I have only partially lost my sense of smell should I make a kit with those scents? Problem is I lost the smell of bad things like body odor and other worse body smells. 😑

Why do my oils not drip out like that? 3:49. Do I need to pierce the plastic nozzle or something?

Some oils are much thicker than others and will drip out much slower. Hold the bottle in your closed hand for 45-60 seconds, then drip out. The warmth of your had will warm the oil in the bottle making it easier to come out.

    Will this also improve taste?

What about using the aromatherapy personal inhalers?

    • @SuzetteG316

That is also an option. You are narrowing the "scent space" much like you would if you sniffed directly from the bottle though, so be aware of that. So in essence, using inhalers is better than sniffing from the bottle, but not quite as good as sniffing from a pot type container.

What's the alternative to watercolour paper? I live in a country where ordering from amazon/eBay is very difficult and there's no watercolor paper in the shops

Put a cotton ball in there. It will work just as well.

Or you can reuse the brown pill bottles from the pharmacy.

You sure can. But be aware that essential oils can eat through plastic over time. If you use a plastic bottle, make sure it is kept it in a dark place and use a cotton ball in place of the watercolor paper pad. It is unlikely the small amount of essential oils you are using will affect the plastic, especially if you use cotton ball as it absorbs the oil and it won't sit on the plastic quite the same way it will when you use a paper pad.

I buy from Plant Therapy. They are excellent oils at a fair price and they offer free shipping (in the US) no matter what size your order is. And they offer a money back guarantee if you are unsatisfied for any reason.
