I have not been able to smell or taste since March due to sinus infection. I tried your smell training and Day 4 and I am beginning to regain my sense of smell. I pray this continues. Thank you
I also lost mine after a sinus infection since Jan 1st. Lost it all after the intranasal gel injections of Flouroquinolone antibiotic . Sinuses are fine. But zero taste and smell. Are you still tasting?🙏
@@lisashereika8146I’m there too. Everything smells like burnt bin juice with mould. It’s distressing but I’m trying this and I’m taking zinc which is supposed to help.
Amy! Oh dear...yes, keep practicing. I have no doubt you'll be able to exercise it back. Please keep me posted. Once I was able to distinguish the differences between these 4 aromas I started practicing on groups of oils - like: confiders, resins, blue oils, flower oils - to further hone and refine. Try that as well!
I too have lost my sense of smell for 5 months now... I have been doing smell therapy for 2-1/2mos now. Not as intense as your technique but 2 times a day with 4 oils. Some days I get slight whiff but then other days I have none. I am going to try your way with 3 times a day with the meditative imagination perhaps it is this strong brain focus that will finally restart my olfactory senses. I have a passion for food, and wine and aromas and this loss is very disheartening at times 🙏🏻
Olfactory retraining...my son contracted Covid and lost his sense of smell and taste...I quickly headed to the store and got oils of nutmeg/cinnamon (spice), lemon/orange(citrus), rose(floral), and eucalyptus - smell returned within 3 days!He did this in the morning and at dinnertime.
Hi. I lost my sense of taste and smell a month ago. I tested negative twice for COVID. I think I had bad tests. Anyhow my senses are returning but not to my satisfaction. Thank you for sharing this. I am going to try this as soon as I get the items/oils you suggested.
@@officialamygalper Hello Amy. I just ordered the items to make the kit. I don’t have my full sense of smell and taste back and will reply in time. Thanks kindly for such an informative, well done video.
@@officialamygalper I loved learning how you set up the scent training in glass jars with cotton pads and hearing about your instructions to remember the sight or taste of the botanicals.
Just lost my smell, have been struggling since last Friday with Covid. I keep thinking it’s all in my head, but then I grab a coffee jar or Vicks and smell NOTHING. It is so bizarre! If this persists, I will absolutely try this. Thank you.
Dealing with parosmia (distorted sense of smell and taste), I’ve been doing scent retraining for about a week and notice improvements! I can smell (accurately) oregano, cinnamon, lemon, lavender, peanut butter. However coffee, garlic powder, onion powder and most hot foods smell very foul & pungent. They smell the same & taste the same. Laundry detergent, soap, deodorant, shampoo etc all smells like the same strong chemical, identical smell. It’s so bizarre!! I see my ENT on Friday.
gosh so sorry to hear you are dealing with this! But good to hear that smell training has provided some improvement. Thanks for sharing! I'm not a DR !
Thank you for sharing this information. I am so grateful as I have been trying to find a way to help others who have lost their sense of smell. Can we use inhalers which are glass instead of glass containers?
thanks so much for watching. Yes, you can try the inhaler..I think the jars are more focuses for both nostrils to experience though...but give it a try and let me know!
@@robinsresinsplus I wanted an aromatically diverse set, and after researching other olfactory trainings, it seemed like a range was: floral, citrus, spice and "airy" or medicinal... I did experiment and try essential oils that were all conifers fro example, or flowers or citruses - but I found that in the beginning it was more challenges to distinguish. However, once I was able to clearly detect the difference between these 4 groups, I started to refine, and grouped together different conifers, or florals, or seed oils, etc. ..to further hone. Hope this answers?
Hi can you tell me if this would help me? I hit a deer on my harley june of 2021 and lost my since of smell from a skull fracture. If there is a strong smell around me i can tell that there is a adore of some sort but can not identify it at all. Thank you!
Wayne. I am so sorry to hear about your accident...how horrible, but Thank G-d you are alive and OK! Losing your sense of smell due to injury is tough - and harder to recover - because there was structural damage...I'd recommend checking out abscent.org - I mention that site in the video. They are truly the pioneers in olfactory disorder research - maybe they may know of something that I am. not aware of. I wish I could help - please keep me posted if you need any other recommendations or support.
I have been 2yrs 10😮 months maybe about 5 percent of both back. I have the oils today I am going to commit doing 3 times a day. I got so frustrated and stopped. This is horrible state to be in 😢
oh no! Head injury? How terrible. Very sorry to hear this. From what I've learned when it is an injury that causes structural issues, I don't think this kind of training can help. I am not a dr. You can certainly try,...I wish I could help
great question. I like to keep my bottles closed so they don't oxidize. As oxygen can cause the molecules in essential oils to deteriorate more quickly.
3.5 years later still gone after Covid - I can smell all oils on right side of my nose at close range , left side is zero , but come to food and edible food , zero - all meats no smell - nothing at all - I’ll give up oils for food
I’ve been losing my sense of smell over the past few years….fell face first and broke my nose…..it’s disconcerting. Just found this video. Maybe this will help? I can still smell some bad things
ugh that is terrible! If you commit to an exercise like I explain in this video you might see some progress! I can't promise, I am not a dr, but its worth giving a try!
