I use my Garmin to tell time and track exercise. That’s it. Notifications are off. There are many things that distract me, but the watch isn’t one of them. My recommendation is to be deliberate about what notifications you’re willing to receive on your phone and even more so on your watch.
As a mature student at nursing school the Apple Watch with cellular data is brilliant - I can go to the library with just my watch and laptop and focus on my studies. I was able to complete an essay which got 85% in 14 hours across a number of weeks. I would achieve what I planned to do in half the time I'd I allotted to it.
Thanks, watched this and realized I am totally engrossed in electronics. Not my goal! You bring up great points and back it up with data and let’s face it, you’re right! While a good tool, it has to be used properly!
This is because you are phone addicted. I use my smartwatch for miles/steps, heart health and sleep. Notifications incoming messages are turned off. Use your watch for those . Use your phone for communicating. If anything throw your phone away and keep the watch.

Well said!
Was trying to decide if I really needed one. I guess this video kind of helped me to decide.

Agree 100%. These devices are hurting young kids and getting them hooked early. Great video.
