When good skaters are around I always try harder. Its just a different energy. Definitely not to show off but more to push each other and learn from eachother in a way

It’s that way with everything. Even life in general. If you hang out with people who are doing shot in life it will motivate you to do better. If you hang out with bums then that’s all you will be. It’s like this on everything you do
Skaters are funny man, every stylistic art works like this. The fact they feel like they're being vain or something is why skateboarding is so cool.
When I started skating we were bad, I mean really bad. But we had a lot of enthusiasm. We literally build a little skate park with mini-ramps, ledges, rails. And where I live there are none. You have to drive 2 hours to get one. So one day a small crew of guys appeared at our spot, and joined us skating. They were actually good. Well, long story short, we became friends and as bad we were, we began to close tricks like crazy. We had an exponential growth in the next months. And it was so natural, those guys just pushed us to go over our limits. We were trying hard absolutely not to show off, but to prove ourselves that we could also do those tricks we were witnessing for the first time in person and not only on video.
I remember seeing this clip of Chris, first time I saw him do anything and I knew he'd be goated.
I live here in Esco and the big four is legendary here. Its much larger in person too.

Yea I play soccer and it’s the same thing. If you play with bad players then it makes you have to come down to their level just to play. But when you play with a good squad, you can make better plays together and push the game to a much faster pace.
When theres people around i skate the absolute worst. I guess thats why im not famous 🤦♂️

I lived in Escondido and loved this spot. Only thing is I 180’d that shit. That has so much hangtime it’s nuts. Halfway through I saw the security guard starting down the 10 stair behind me next to the big 4 and I landed.... he was already running behind my ass 🤣
The big 4 is in my hometown SoCal Escondido . I still live there now and I can confirm this thing is fuckin huge. When you step up to it it's massive I tried ollieng it several times when I was younger and that's all I could manage to do on it
