Xcel Energy starts installing "smart meters" for cleaner energy project

- Kelly Almer and her husband, Mark, are some of the first people in the state to have a smart meter installed in their home. Mark is also an Xcel employee.

They wouldn't spend the money to buy and install these things if it wasn't going to make more money for them PERIOD. We aren't fools.
And if you don’t do your laundry when they tell you and if you don’t do your chores when they tell you then it will cost you twice as much money and it will not save you any money. This is all about controlling society. Creating something exclusive and charging more money for it. It’s the California way…
So now we have to pay more for something we already pay for????? When will people stand up to the greedy ass people and say no more.... What ever happen to monopoly laws that stop one company have this much power over people

they just sent me an email saying they would be out to change my meter to a smart meter. I just sent them back an email. They will not be changing out my meter.
These are the meters that they can spontaneously combust and burn your house down like they did to everybody in California.
They are bad.
Propaganda at it finest, lets interview a bias resident who works for the company so of course they are going to say the want it. SMH
I almost died after 3 weeks of exposure to smart meters installed in my building. Tests showed brain damage, lung damage, connective tissue damage, kidney damage, liver damage. I was not able to walk, lift my head, speak, do basic math, and my brain was glitching so bad it was making electronic noises. Mega lawsuit.
I just spoke with Xcel. It does NOT turn off your A/C. That's ONLY an "opt in" program. What these meters do is send the usage to Xcel so they don't have to send someone out to read the meter. If they have to come out they will now charge you about $11.00 more a month.
If everyone switches to non peak time now that’s peak time again. Good job. Old habits of cooking dinner and running the wash? Uh should I contact an entire restaurant to make me an overpriced sandwich so they can bring it to me in a ton vehicle that uses as much power as 25 people doing laundry and running the oven or should we just make the stupid sandwich at home?
