I guess I need to say this here too. If you like this line, I'm happy for you! I'm aware everyone has different tastes and styles. Some of you could come into my home and hate my decor and that's fine, I decorate for myself and not other people. No one is "freaking out" over this line. We are just sharing our thoughts and opinions.
I still took the time to record this video because I know other people will like it, but I still gave my opinion because we are all allowed to have one. Most of you have been sweet in the comments with telling me you like this line and I appreciate that and I love that you love it because that's what matters most. No one can or should stop you from loving what you love because they said they didn't like it. If we were all the same, it would be quite boring.
Please don't take my opinion to heart. It's just personally not my cup of tea.

Pastel puked on Halloween. 😢😢 Literally everything in this line looks like an angry obsessed ex lover took spray paint and ruined someones halloween decor. This hurts my soul

It’s not something I would personally buy but I think it’s cute. I think kids/teenagers/young adults will like it or someone who likes to do a spooky summer vibe.
Personally I like that they did something different and are trying to appeal to those who maybe don’t like Halloween.
Which I totally get and I could be wrong and the whole line might sell out.
All I'm thinking about is it on super clearance later for us crafters 😂

That Hippie Hallow line is god awful, as was the pastel line they had last year. I could see some of this stuff being used for those that decorate for springoween or for a tweens bedroom but never Halloween. Never Halloween! It's goes against all that is perfect and right about spooky season. This is what happens when corporate tries to be "hip".
I'm so glad most people agree that this line is awful. I definitely think I offended a couple people though lol.
LOL I recently saw these items on another channel and seriously was like WT....?? I showed my granddaughter this line and asked if she wanted me to get them for her room in my home, she basically said "NO Nana, Halloween is supposed to be spooky!" So even my 10 yr old granddaughter knows Halloween is for spookyness and NOT cuteness haha I do have some thoughts on why this is happening, but I'll share them in a little rant on next Sunday's vid.
I do however appreciate how much time you spent filming this stuff, I'm sure it was painstaking work LOL

I really don’t get the disco and I don’t care for it at all either. A few of the Hippie Hollow items could have been so cute if they had just stuck to more traditional Halloween colors, but then I guess it wouldn’t be too hippie, lol.
My thoughts exactly lol. Some of this stuff could have been good, if they went in the opposite direction with it 😂
I’m from the UK and I’m absolutely obsessed with it! We have nothing like you guys and this would look perfect in my British maximalist house with all my leopard print and pink and orange 🤣💖xx

@@StellaLiveDIY that makes complete sense - we have a lot more of the gothic / witchy stuff over here and I struggle because I’m more into your American vintage Halloween stuff (orange, white and black). We don’t even get blow mould lights over here and I’m so jealous! Your fabric gardlands are unreal too!

I'm with you on pink, pastel colors for Halloween. Even if you are a Valloween decorator, it's too in your face. It's almost as if Dunkin Donuts, with its signature pink and orange, decided to do a Halloween line. The flowers are so pop art 70s.
I agree. I do like darker colors for Valloween and these are very in your face.
This is the decor that would happen if my sister (a color lover) and I (a goth) shared an apartment 😆

Kid's are probably who this line is intended for, I just don't understand why this has to be the first line that they dropped lol. I have a feeling this line will not do well, but I could be wrong lol.

Controversial opinion, I really like ALL styles of Halloween decor 😂 so I like some of this for “summerween” vibes like skeletons doing summer activities are fun to me. But I’m both a Halloween AND Christmas person 😅

This is where my head was at. Like if I want to do Halloween all year and keep it feeling seasonally fresh, a little pastels here and there for summer would be cool. I don't love all of the pieces but I do like the soft pink on some of them. But I like the creepy cute aesthetic so that's notable, some people don't like combining them. I love the traditional Halloween, that's me 90% of the time but I do love a softer moment too.
It's almost as if Michaels wants to chase their customers away from the store. As if 1970's Decor and Disco Balls weren't bad enough the first time around, they try and foist them on us again. In February will they offer Valentines Day decor in black and orange? It's tough to determine which aspect of their "Halloween" items is worse -- the colors, the 1970's theme, or the fact that so many of the items are just plain ugly and cheap-looking.
Agreed! I did get onto Michael's to see if they would redeem themselves with the other lines that are coming out. Some stuff looked decent, but I have to see it in person to know for sure.
Some of it is cute…but pink is not Halloween. I only do limited scary Halloween but this doesn’t hit the mark for mild Halloween. Maybe for 6-14 year old children. Or if you’re into the Brady bunch.
My daughter is 13, almost 14, she doesn't even like is line lol. I think it'd maybe be okay in a nursery, but not Halloween lol
Three more traditional lines are coming around the 26th CALM DOWN EVERYONE this is for more pastel goths and happy people that still want to celebrate Halloween, I can admit if this was all their Halloween stuff I would have been so mad but I snooped around their website and all our good stuff is coming they are releasing in waves :)
I ended up snooping around their website too. I saw a few items that I think I might like, but I have to see them in person first.
2 of 10 things are good, like, idk, the ones that look more creepy like actual creepy without the pink 😂 but honestly the problem is not the pink the problem is THE HIPPIE 70s LOOK. WTF.
Yes. I think that's my problem with it all. It's not the colors it's the actual decor lol. Though I'd love to see some black in there lol.
I loved the little ceramic ghostie guys The plain ghost pillow, purple eyes pillow, and the lavender spiderweb plate, but most everything in the hippie line was a serious pass. 👻
Yes! Some stuff was decent, but for the most part, I didn't like it lol.
I do like some color, however, I did not like this year's Hippie line. Last year, they also did a pastel/pink & purple line and I like that one a lot of more. Last year, I did a Barbie at the Haunted Mansion theme, so the colors were great for that. I'm really not a hippie person & orange isn't really my color, so that's probably why I don't care about this year's line as much.
I never saw the pastel last year. My store must have put it in the back and I didn't go searching for it lol. But I really wouldn't mind some of these pieces of they added some black, but that's just my personal preference lol. It's interesting to hear how everyone decorates though. I've never heard of anyone doing a barbie at the haunted mansion theme. Interesting!
I didn’t like the hippy line either until someone pointed out that the whole line is the lesbian flag color.

Also The Disco Bat was cool admittedly I like Disco Balls around my house I have them in all shapes I will be buying that the disco Skull and possibly the Disco ball pumpkin but the rest can burn lol
I don't have a problem with the disco balls, it just to me, is an odd "Halloween" item. I can see it working for this line, but other stores have set them out too. Like JoAnns and Marshalls.
The only things that looked remotely cool were the skeleton doggos, the ceramic couldrons and the black coffin tray
I definitely thought some of it was okay, but I didn't like the majority of this line.
This line confuses my little Halloween lovin' heart. A couple things are cute, but most of this makes no sense

I love these. I saw a bunch of people on twitter excited about these too. It's something different for Halloween and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm sure most other stores are doing usual halloween decor so it's not like anyone is missing out.

I believe the Boulet Brothers jokingly this style boo-thie. They noticed it a little last year and were talking about it in their podcast. Also side note can we bring back old school Halloween what I mean by that is by bringing back little devil images. I completely didn't notice that wasn't a thing anymore until I went I went to a thrift and bought a Halloween light that had a little devil on it and I realized I haven't seen that style since I was a kid early 90s.
I honestly didn't even see the pastel Halloween line last year. My store either didn't set it out or it was on the back and I didn't go looking for it lol.
I loved the fun colors…. But I dislike how everyone wants to be a hippie but forgets real hippies smoked weed.… they forgot about the weed and homelessness….. They missed out on the other half of hippie culture
I imagine some ghouls out there like it, but they've got to be a small minority. Some of the orange items on their own could still work great mixed into people's traditional collections. Plus some ghouls are really into pink for Halloween so I can see a few pieces working for them. Overall I expect a lot of it to sit and not sell well.
Thanks for showing all the various ornaments, it was helpful. I think I am picking up the cats for a branchy tree, that gorgeous giant jack 'o lantern to place on a stand, and the iridescent clear ones for my cauldrons!
I know some people will like it, but I also think most of this will not sell. I agree some of the orange stuff will work for a traditionally styled Halloween. Overall, I think the line will do horribly. It for sure looks like it was designed for a small child lol. I hope the next line they drop, isn't as disappointing.

I actually know someone with a really colorful retro themed house that this stuff would work well in. But it definitely isn’t for me and I don’t think there will be much of a market for it
I do think this line will appeal to some people, but I think for most Halloween lovers/people who decorate spooky all year it won't.
Sadly Michaels is not what it used to be . I used to love going there for Halloween decor , but the past two years have been a disappointment and the prices of things at Michaels have gone way up and I am not feeling it . I do not even go there for my craft and jewelry making supplies anymore .Not a big fan of the Hippie Hollow either .

While I’d never give skeleton stuff to a child, I feel like a lot of people may like some of these pieces… but probably not for actual Halloween decor 😂 just the girlies that like skeleton/skull decor and pink. It’s not my personal vibe, but I can picture a lot of friends who would definitely have stuff like this on a regular basis and not just Halloween. 😂 still, very strange choices for Halloween decor that’s supposed to have a broad appeal

Growing up in both the disco and hippie era's, they're different things. Disco is not hippie. Hippies didn't have mirror balls. We did have black lights and black light posters though.
I don't understand the disco balls at all and I thought the disco balls weren't hippie lol. This is the third store I've seen put out disco balls for Halloween decor and I'm so confused by it.
Some of the stuff ARE really cute, they're just not Halloween, they don't make sense for the celebration that is supposed to be all things ocult and dark and ghostly idk, it's so weird
Yes, for the most part it is a weird choice in design.
I've just started the video but just a thought on some of these decors...maybe its a theme/color style some people like and they don't want to redo their setup for just ONE day (Halloween should be year around imo
My house is "Halloween" all year haha. For me it was the color and just the style of the decor in general. If they added some black in there maybe I wouldn't have disliked it as much as I do lol.

The hippie Halloween is everywhere this year. It's a big theme. I prefer the more traditional Halloween pieces. Those ombre pumpkins are cute tho
Yeah, I've seen so much cutesy stuff this year. I've gone into Michael's a few times since I posted this video and most of this stuff is still on the shelves.
I think hippie Halloween could work really well with Scooby doo decor…. Teen… heck I even kinda like it for my cubicle at work.

Everyone is freaking out over this hippie line. Honestly who cares? If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. Simple as that.
I think everyone is entitled to their opinions on the line. I agree if you don't like it don't buy it, but again, doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on it.
Also, I think stores might appreciate the feedback and see what their customers don't want.

Lots of people do Pinkoween or Pasteloween so I do think there will be an audience for this. I love Flower Power (I am 61 and it reminds me of The Patridge Family and Brady Bunch which I loved). However, I am Traditional-- 🧡🖤🤍 for Halloween. ❤🤍💚 for Christmas. Pastels are for Easter-- which I also love. I also think baby/child skeletons are creepy in a not good way. I just can't picture them as cute.
And that's awesome. I love that some people love it. It's just not personally something I like. I do agree with the baby skeletons though.
