@@Marisol-Channel Overgeneralize? Meatriding much? The Roblox DevWiki is some of the worst outdated shit i've ever used. And the Devforum is hardly useful at times, they tell you to just "reference the DevWiki", and then you do... And the Devwikis all outdated stuff or doesn't tell you what the thing you're trying to use does... I'd say the Forum is a 50/50 on if its going to be useful or not.
@@ARandomEliatrope We've never told anyone to look at the devwiki, only the documentation. Though there's a reason for that, most people don't know that the documentation can actually give good information on your problem, you can just respond with "I've already tried that, and it didn't work". You yourself are now over generalising the development forum by saying " yeah they all do x"
well when i surf around the forum about this info they were all broken and overcomplicated and stuff, this guy actually explains the method i never heard of, the one that actually works
Text chat service works locally, as new chat is part of a core gui now. the message argument returns an instance which consists for the msg, the person who sent the msg etc.
Strings are just "text". You can also use 'text'. And [[text]] or [=[text]=] for multi-line strings (second is the best trust me) There are also some functions such as tostring() to turn something into a string, for example we can turn a number into a string: local NumberString = tostring(1234) print(NumberString) And that's all.
give me your email so I can send you stuff

i'm honestly loving these random videos where you mess around but also learn something new with us.
finally someone explains it in a short time, you don't know how UNHELPFUL the forum can be
Don't over generalise, just because you had a few experiences that aren't perfect doesn't mean the entire forum is like that.
you should make a post about it. If you don’t understand the post that have your solution you can ask people to explain it : )

Make the "print(msg)" to "print(msg.Text)"

Thank you for that. Legit spent 10 mins trying to make it work on the server.
so like is it like a tuple/a list or a dictionary? In other words, instance is basically an iterable object right?
@@strangegamer-si I don't think so, I believe instance is an object, all i know is instances have metatables
can you do a video about weird stuff like you did with secret? like what is connectparallel or the other thing that starts with dock
Thanks, I sorta know how to use textchatservice.
Btw, Day 3 of asking you to make a tutorial on strings

And were back to basics... Classic bro
pretty sure that existed already for a while, i saw these 2-3 years ago or more
you have to do "print("msg.Text") not "print("msg") idk its weird
actually its print(msg.Text) because with print("msg.Text") its printing "msg.Text"
Just as weird as IntValue.Value
Yeah whoops, i forgot about that@@xinsalait_397
