I've been drawing for almost 40 years and have always struggled to draw characters from imagination. All the methods I've learned always left characters looking stiff and formulaic. I'm completely blown away by how quickly I was able to adapt this to my own style. I saw a quick clip on TikTok that brought me here and I'm so grateful. Thank you for sharing this.

@@RODGONTHEARTIST -- I find that actually listening to what you're saying, instead of meandering off topic, is the best way to gain experience with your various methods. I've done life drawing, drew from accurate replicas of skulls and skeletons. So I have a good handle on shapes, I'd like to think.🤟 You're the badass here, Rodgon!

If you haven’t already, you should take the end part of all the methods for drawing the face and turn it into a short.

Neither Loomis, nor Bridgman, nor Reilly method...I choose Rodgon method...maybe with a bit of mixing or plus details but yours is the most intuitive!!!
    Thanks a lot!!!

I found you on tiktok and finally came here to sit thru some tutorials. I loved to draw throughout my entire childhood into my 20’s then life got busy and I haven’t had time to do too much. For awhile now I’ve really been wanting to pick it back up and this video was easy to follow. Thank you so much

That was so crazy helpful. As a mechanical engineer Im pretty ok with perspective and boxes and basic shapes in it... but faces and poses were always a struggle. This is such a helpful idea

Understanding WHERE things go never made since to me, seeing WHY they go there makes so much more sense. I have struggled for so long drawing faces and heads, using things like the divisional method for feature placement. I would end up drawing a decent face straight on, but, the minute that face had to move in a different direction everything fell apart.

This is very helpful- and I have that same issue with flat planes on spheres. Also it’s hard for me to take like the eye socket shapes you drew, and turn them for a 3/4 view, or any angle- like, let’s say I drew diamond kind of shapes for the eye sockets- it’s hard for me to see how they change shape as they tilt away from the viewer. Idk how ppl do that. I can draw like nearly photo realistic heads and faces, but I have to be looking at a reference… Anyway you’re so good and I love the tutorials like this- thx

I don’t need you to entertain me but I’m old and want to learn your system. It can hold its own without scat singing.
But to be honest I’m the guy who thinks clowns who want people to laugh at them must need to be center stage.
Why not put you fans center stage which I think you did do at one point.
