Fantastic idea. Keep it up !
Thanks a lot!
Some of the composers were hard. I didn't know Marcello or Dittersdorf.
Well, at least there are some difficulties in a fairly simple quiz))
Another great video my friend - and so quickly! I'd love to see some with choral music or lieder, or early music too! So many 'guess the classical music' channels focus on orchestra music... but yours is still the best regardless. The Liszt-ian interludes are hilarious.
I am very pleased to read such a complimentary review! Would you know how difficult it is for me to give Mr. Liszt’s seemingly very simple tips))
Ok, that was kinda easy. But still nice!
Yes. Such easy quizzes are also needed, my children like them better))
No tuba concerto :(
All but two, Bassoon/ Trombone sound alike s
15/15 on the instruments (very easy). Not so good on all the composers. Interesting to discover composers writing concerti I didn't know about.
Thanks, I also discovered some great ones - for example, Rossini)))
Easy, 14/15🎉
Got all the instruments and about half the composers, too. 😀 And I learned of the existence of some new works. I had no idea Rossini wrote a bassoon concerto or Rimsky-Korsakov a trombone concerto.
By the way, I also didn’t know about this at all and was pleasantly surprised by both!
Tuba Concerto in the next one please!!!!
I have one instrument, now I need 14 more))
The opening music (before you get to the actual quiz), Mozart’s piano concerto no. 21, was used as the sound track for Elvira Madigan , a soppy, maudlin movie about a tightrope walker who runs away with an army deserter. The best part was the ending where there are two off-screen gunshots. Sentimentalists think it was a double suicide but to cognoscenti it was obvious that he shot her twice.
Thanks for this information. It was very interesting!
This was fun! Mr. Husband and I guessed all the instruments correctly, but not very many of the composers. I never knew there was a concerto for piccolo. I knew the Mozart clarinet concerto immediately because it is one of my favorites. I played clarinet in band and orchestra throughout my school years, including college. (Have not played it for years, though. I am in my seventies now. Still love the sound!) Keep up the good work; the Mister and I always look forward to your quizzes!
I really enjoy your detailed comments. I always read them with pleasure. It was really difficult to guess the composers here. Thank you and your husband! Write more.
Part 2 Shostakovich pls
Thanks for the idea!
So embarrassing. I got the last one wrong. I really have to cut back on that cheap alcohol.
Mistaking the cello for the viola was…sad face.
The first time I really disappointed myself with 5 mistakes but that is not your fault. Liked it a lot.
I first check the video in my family and then even more mistakes appear))
I got all 15 instruments but 7 composers only. I also know the music from the intro: the 2nd movement from Mozart's 21th piano concerto.
Well, it’s really not that easy to guess the composers in this quiz, especially on unusual instruments.
Viola concerto and TwoSet has left the chat.
I missed the harpsichord one because I thought the harpsichord was the continuo part of a viola concerto!
When I saw the title I was expecting to hear the music leading up to the entry of the soloist, with the challenge being to then identify which instrument it would be. Maybe you could do that another time? Some concertos start with the soloist (e.g. Grieg piano concerto) so for those you could pick a different point in the piece.
Thanks for your feedback. I also thought about taking solo performances from the beginning, but some of them were boring and I didn’t really like them. So in some places I took them with an orchestral addition))
The Rimsky-Korsakov trombone concerto was totally new to me. Missed the Dittersdorf and the Al Binoni trumpet concertos. So not a hard challenge but had its moments. The horn player pictured after the Strauss excerpt was Herman Baumann.
No that horn player is Radek Baborak
I unexpectedly liked the Rimsky-Korsakov trombone concerto))
@@adiosmusictestI’ve known about it for some time and it’s just such a fun piece
@@gc_one6491 OK thank you.
So where is the list?
Liszt is in his place as usual))
@@adiosmusictest Well played!
15/15, as usual.
