  • Lady Gaga suffers from Fibromyalgia. She discussed with Oprah about how fibromyalgia, unexplained pain and fatigue, is linked to trauma. I loved what she had to say and I think it's so helpful for our healing to take a look at our mental health.

    im a trauma therapist. I also have fibromyalgia. My fibro developed when i was 14 as a result of trauma and being abused as a child and teen. I am now 38 and I only recieved the fibro diagnosis officially 4 years ago. 100% agree it is the result of trauma and unprocessed emotions etc

    I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia nearly thirty years ago. There is no doubt in my mind that I developed fibromyalgia from living in a verbally and emotional abusive relationship. I was walking on eggshells every day and kept all of my emotions inside. Finally I started to have stomach aches, joint and muscle pain, sensitivity to lights and sun. I tried to cope with it as long as I could, going from doctor to doctor and having test after test with nothing showing up. I finally had a breakdown at work and couldn’t stop crying. They told me to go home and not come back until I felt better. I never felt better. My fibromyalgia gets worse every year and I get more and more symptoms. It is so very debilitating. Thank goodness I am no longer with the person who caused me so much distress, but the damage is already done. I do breathing exercises, gentle yoga and swim gentle lengths of the pool. I haven’t found anything which gives me much relief. I am allergic to most drugs.
    My sister was in a very abusive marriage also. She got breast cancer. Her and her husband separated and her cancer went into remission. A year later they got back together. The marriage became abusive again and her cancer returned. This time it took her life. She always told me that she was certain her cancer was from the stress of living in her abusive relationship. So very sad. She was a wonderful woman. Thank you for this very informative video. I enjoyed watching it. Hugs from a fellow chronic pain sufferer.❤️🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

    Thanks for sharing about this, Aimee! I finally made the connection very recently with my health and past traumas. I have been going through trauma since childhood (it's over now), and I just got sicker and sicker as life went on. There were several times I was literally deathly ill, Dr's could not figure out the root cause, and I was given many diagnoses that I questioned over and over, and they just did not sit right with me. I got worse and worse, started looking into "root cause healing", and found out that I have chronic lyme disease (most MD's don't believe in chronic or untreated Lyme, unless they specialize in lyme-"LLMD"). So now I'm using functional medicine, natropathic, holistic methods of healing, as well as going through therapy (finally) for my past traumas, which were many, and I'm finally healing! I think the combo of healing the brain from our traumas, and healing the body at the same time by whatever means are necessary, is definitely the way to go. I love your channel, Aimee, you are such a wise, young woman ❤

    I truly believe this is connected to our chronic illnesses. I feel that trauma is the cause of our pain because we hold in our emotions

    To simplify this, fibromyalgia pain is NOT psychosomatic/psychogenic/psychological. It can be caused by/result from physical trauma, not psychological trauma. PTSD can result from psychological trauma.
    In Gaga's case, she developed FM from the physical trauma she sustained: PTSD was the psychological result of the trauma. Rape is not only psychological; it is a physical assault trauma.

    My fibromyalgia seemed to appear after my husband was struck by lightning. He lived and he is doing well now, but We had a 7 week year old son when it happened. My husband was in the hospital for 6 weeks. He couldn’t have a sheet on his legs, he couldn’t walk, shower, etc. We had our first home and I was supposed to go back to work and also find day care for our son while our son was sick. My world seemed so overwhelming. I still get overwhelmed so easily to this day and my I’m so hyper sensitive to emotions of others. It is like I can feel other’s pain when they’re dealing with it. Total empath.

    This is interesting! I have had trauma with my sister leaving home at age 16. We were extremely close, grew up together, homeschooled together, we were best friends. She left and moved in with other family, and it was such a big mess. I got sick a year or two later with M.E. It makes sense that maybe that's why!

    I was a single teacher. I started with flu aches/ no fever on and off, then severe fatigue, mono & epstein barr found over and over, pos ana/auto panel but no disease. All tests neg. Rashes, hives, rosacea and face flushing happened for years. Dermatologist said it was all stress/ anxiety. New too. I was never helped beyond this despite so many doctors. After marriage, twin birth, panic attacks with shooting electric like pain, a case of shingles- I now had full blown fibromyalgia officially yet my blood work was now fine. I felt like I was dying thou. A gp enters and cares. Prescribed High dose Effexor( massive trial n error before finding this) , taught a new mind set, supplements, pacing and finding a new normal gives hope. I find a happy fibro me. Finding out this stems from emotional trauma I stuffed for decades only this year is whoa!Gp agrees on cause. Therapy has helped. 2008 to 2022. Diagnosed 2014. It's one hek of a journey but it's mine. Like Gaga, share your story. It helps others.

      @@Aimee_Esther I'm doing much better now- I jumped into 6 months of therapy right away and it helped tons! Like you say, there is a sunny side and I have lots. I've come out to find the light in lots of areas. I find fibro manageable without thinking I'm in control. That would be silly! For those struggling in seasons that are dark and hard, just know they don't last- find that balance and change that gives you a quality of life for a new normal. ❤️

    My fibro started after a trauma, but I don't think it was caused by it or at least not primarily. I think that if you are coming down with pre-fibromyalgia it could actually predispose you to traumatic events due to not being present and effecting your behavior. But it is complicated. I know my trauma would not have happened had I been my normal self.

    Women with fibromyalgia have a prevalence for a perineural cyst 42% according to the NIH . It does cause bleeding out too. It bleeds out cerebral spinal fluid indirectly. Shows on MRI as well. Unfortunately doctor's don't know the MRI technique to detect it . Thus only imaged 1% in patients. Terrible story correct? Just one detail means no less than our personal salvation. Tarlov cyst disease is easily treatable with needle intervention. No three year bed rest recovery typically from Tarlov surgery. No dicey epidural blood patches for leak repairs. You'll need a board certified neurologist to diagnose and locate the lesion . Lastly a trigger point injectionist . Six office visits per year. To be completely 100% pain free. I believe I told you this long ago. Been 3years zero pain. No equivocation. Flares no more.

    • @jamesmcconnell2473
      @jamesmcconnell2473 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can see the surgery Tarlov cyst excision Master technique . The theoretical flow of cerebrospinal fluid resembling ebb and flow back and forth like tides. The difference between fibromyalgia and Tarlov cyst ? The stakes are higher however the ultra powerful cyst . Which knows how to hide. Has the power to grant a truce. It takes you being being the best you can be. Like the ability to see something that doesn't wanna be seen . Your injectionist needs to be that way too. Luck be yours Aimee. Jordan
