References to Trump and Boris have aged surprisingly well

      [CW: apocalyptic predictions]
I think that there will be more fascist dictactors as the climate crisis intensifies.
With more extreme weather and temperatures, there will be less drinkable water, less farmable land, and less livable land.
This will cause mass migrations and fighting for resources between people, whether on an individual or national level.
More fear and conflict means more fascism. Scared and desperate people can be easily fooled by someone claiming to be a strong leader who will protect them.
I expect that political and social instability will only get worse.
I am autistic, so I state the facts bluntly as I see them. Greta Thunberg is the same.
I am trying to prepare for the inevitable future by learning practical survival skills now (gardening, composting, camping, sewing/mending my clothes, etc.).

Geez. I wash an old show and I still can't escape Trump.

Why would you wish to escape the greatest President since Lincoln???

Donald Trump and Howard Hughes both got rich by inheriting a lot of money from their fathers, so I wouldn’t look to them for advice about how to get rich, unless you have some very wealthy parents who might die before you do.

I'm gutted, I was just getting into these and then poof, no more. Cheers Vladut for upping what admittedly was a teasing pittance but I do appreciate that teasing pittance. I liked this show more than QI.

They needed to swap around the host, Mitchell clearly hates autocue

8:00 Howard Hughes was batshit crazy! And I thought that I was OCD!

    • @janeeyre1990
      @janeeyre1990 ปีที่แล้ว +2

And he shows how it's much easier to be disabled / mentally ill when you're rich (at least here in the US where I live and Hughes lived).
He didn't want to cut his toenails because of his OCD, so his staff built him calipers to hold his toes apart.
When poor disabled / mentally ill people engage in eccentric behavior like that, they are ostracized, harassed, put in a psych ward, or the police are called.

I glanced through the comments and, at first, thought this said you were eating your toenails until it made you sick.

Favorite episode so far, I love Kirsty Wark! Vic Reeves sorely missed!

For ages I thought it was just making Mitchell read autocue that was ruining this, but about four episodes in I’m really seeing that Micky Flanagan like. Mostly sucks? reminds me of early Jimmy Carr.
The one glitter joke was funny but with nearly everything else he said, I was hoping he’d stop talking so someone funnier could

Can you hear the ripples or waves of laughter from the audience after a lot of Mickey's jokes?
Do you think that your preferred humor is objectively good humor and that all the audience members who laughed are wrong?
Or do you accept that humor is subjective and that other people can still find him funny, even though he isn't your personal preference?

It’s like Channel 4 thought because David Mitchel was popular at the time, they let him come up with pretentious crap. It just doesn’t work on tv. It should have been put on Radio 4, where it would remain in obscurity.
