I'm glad you noticed. In recent videos I've been deleting the frames where my hand is directly in the way of the sculpture. Now looking at old videos, I'm like "How did I ever think this was watchable?" lol
@@OFCIFR I could see how it might not seem like a lot of work. But in practice, I'm deleting basically 1 out of every 3 frames. There's 1800 frames in just one minute and I usually start with two minutes of sped up footage. For longer shots, It's taken me hours to edit out all the obscured frames.
@@StevenRichter next time you can send me the footage and I'll do it for you, I don't charge a lot and you'll be able to focus more on what you like instead of video cleaning ;)
I think one of my favorite things about watching stuff like this, timelapses, speed-drawings, etc, is seeing all the times the artist paused, changed something, or went back and re-did a part they didn't like. It really reminds you that art is not a straightforward "A-to-B" process and that mistakes are okay, they can be corrected. For a long time (and even now) I struggled with the the idea that everything i put to paper has to be correct the first time, and it can be a major hurdle to get over.
I honestly thought you were going to coat the eyes with a transparent polymer resin to give them a wet look, but the vacuum form plastic worked just as well! It's still really nice to see this sort of hand-made project. It's a dying art and you're keeping it alive.
I was thinking the same thing, was also wondering what would the final result have looked like if resin was done instead. IMO this made the eyes look a bit darker than they were right after painting, that's not a bad thing, just an observation. perhaps with uv resin, the eyes would have been too bright and not looked the part. Things to ponder :)
Glad to see the eyeballs are finally back !! Thank you Steven. Really missed them in the green goblin time-lapse. 😉😉 and thank you for keeping your promise too !!
I got goosebumps from the finished product. All the work he (you) put into this sculpture and this video is incredible and im still slack-jawed from it all.
You need to have a special kind of talent to make stuff like this. Everything from making the fur look perfect to making the clothes, and the genius of using vacuum formed plastic to make the eyes and how you used feathers to make the whiskers... amazing as always!
Man........ you are the most freaking talened, doped, amazing, surreal artist. Seripusly, you are the Da Vinci or Michael Jordan of what you do. I just lack words to describe what freaking talent you are. A complete, generational outlier. Congrats. And, above all, thanks for sharing your haevenly talent with us.
Beyond the enjoyment of watching the sculpting, I'm always eagerly awaiting to hear your theme song while you work. It's like expecting to hear John William's Superman theme when watching a Superman movie.
these belong at disneyland! how sick would it be coming off the ride and seeing busts like these displayed as you walk back into the park. so freaking cool.
I don't know if you will see my message but in any case, know that you have an incredible talent, sincerely. Rare are the works I see on TH-cam that approach such a level of realism, thank you for sharing this with us
I enjoyed watching this video so much that I watched it twice and I am writing to thank you! Amazing job! The character came out very alive and awesome!
He looks very kind. :) So damn good. Impressed that you first do it in clay, to make a mold in silicone.... Always as interesting with your busts. Thanks
Personally I think this is your best yet. Blown away by this one pal! I’d absolutely LOVE to see you do Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken from Escape From New York.
I'm beyond impressed how you knew the underlying contour of his face without fur. Seriously, you bodied this.
I thought he faced it.
@@RetroJack😂
there is even the formulae for this.
I can’t believe you removed nearly every frame of the Timelapse video where your hand obscured the sculpture. That’s dedication!
I'm glad you noticed. In recent videos I've been deleting the frames where my hand is directly in the way of the sculpture. Now looking at old videos, I'm like "How did I ever think this was watchable?" lol
He deleted from the speed up version which is not so impressive, maybe it took 5 minutes maximum to do

This method is usually used to be able to position the eyes where we want them to see.
Outstanding Steven. Outstanding.

Incredible work as always, Steven. You are a true master of your craft!
It's unbelievable

Моё восхищение! Великолепная работа! Мастер!
*Amazing creation for a small part, and just to think that Human life was just at random chance and without Creator is just nonsense.*
I was intrigued by your “sculpting” with fur and hair. I love your work and your videos.
That is just simply stunning and by far your best work yet. It’s fascinating watching these creations come together.👍
How Daffy duck morphs into Rocky Raccoon. He's evolved
I thought it was aflac
I saw this comment before I saw the video. Now I'm sad that he hasn't made a Daffy Duck sculpture.
Now Rocky Raccoon checked into his room only to find Gideon's Bible
I thought he was Howard the duck😂

He looks incredible 😍 how much work you must put into every project is mind blowing. Im looking forward to seeing this film at the weekend

I just watched the film, and loved it! Made me cry a little. You should sculpt his friends too!

Master of SEVERAL disciplines. Very cool!
you are so good at your work that you even manage to renew yourself, and even more, you renew also the way you are making your video; it's incredible!
0:45 rocket without fur is scary. Just plain scary.
