Really incredible race! Seemed perfect until that tire situation! Still crushed it! Nice work

Glad I found this video. I am registered for Augusta but looking to transfer to Wilmington. I live in NC about 2 1/2 hours from Wilmington and know the Wilmington area pretty well. Your course recap was helpful. I have not done a 70.3 before and also a very weak swimmer. I love running.

By those words you will LOVE this event. Very fast course and swim! I think it will suit your needs very well, and home court advantage for you!

Great stuff Kenny. Nice hearing how you handled what to do when things go sideways. I enjoyed the thought process for a new goal after the flat.
Question for ya, having been down there and now seeing wrightsville beach and willmington which would you stay at next time and why

Great recap much appreciate it. Can you add a little about spectators viewing as I see you had a couple kids. Did they follow you on bike by driving and stopping until you pass then etc, how about run.

Thanks! A great spot for spectators is Swim exit and T1, you will also be able to head out onto the cycling course since it is 1 loop to find a spot maybe headed out or back into town, just follow along on the bike course map. Run course is out and back so finding a spot to see you head out is great, and the finish line area is super easy for spectators to watch.

Needed, no, but will make it more comfortable depending on the temp you are used to. we swim in those waters through October

How bad was the traffic on race day morning getting from T1 to the swim start?

Would you recommend staying closer to T1 or T2

    • @GivinItATri

I loved staying by T1 in Wilmington Beach, if you have someone to drop you off you can just drop your stuff at bike in T1 in the AM and get dropped at swim start, your run bag will be dropped the day before at T2.
