Tbh, I think the main reason why this “sounds like a TWICE song” is because Nayeon is basically THE voice of Twice. The song itself, isn’t one I can see Twice singing but it being Nayeon singing makes it sound like one.

She literally exceeded everyone’s expectations. And It’s so good to see how everyone in JYP Nation supporting her solo debut esp her members. I hope jype will do the same thing to the other members when it’s their turn to debut as a soloist.
One thing I realised was when she threw her jacket at the end it hangs in between i and m making im nayeon (her surname) to I’m nayeon which is very very clever I also noticed this at the end when she was sitting on top of her name at the end she uses her finger to make an apostrophe and her album cover if u see her pose her finger is again between i and m and I loveee this song absolutely amazing 😻
Even in the teasers, the brass/horn instrumental build up was addicting. Now that they incorporated it with Nayeon's vocals - Oho EVEN BETTER! That chorus slaps so hard not even going to lie, and then you have those pop pop pop that gets in your head throughout the video. Not to mention the MV that screams expensive from start to finish. 10/10 for me as well PD. For next member solos ... I have Jihyo and Jeongyeon. Some members might even explore activities outside of music. Who knows?

I love the sound/vibe, totally early 3rd gen/late 2nd gen. The oversaturation of girl crush gets exhausting and she's just out here making a classic pop tune.. and people are liking it. I hope this creates a domino effect in the industry. Also, 14 outfit changes??? Arguably one of the most refreshing debuts while still proving she has a lot of power and artistic integrity. Love it!!
Cute concept got dominated by girl crush coz of BP and now it has become saturated since company wanted to make thier own D4 but sadly it came out as forced ...that's why only a few ggs can pull off the girl crush concept

Whilst groups like Girls Generation and Oh My Girl (other cute concept groups included), they don’t get nearly as much popularity as girl crush concepts. Look at Tomboy getting PAKs, and nothing cute really gets PAKs anymore.
It definitely shattered my expectations. Between all Twice members, most of expectations in terms of solo work were on Nayeon (and Jihyo). I expected a bubbly, catchy and Nayeon-like song, but this blew me away by how amazing it is. Nayeon got that special charisma and synergy that not only makes her a great kpop start/idol, but will possible give her legendary status, if she doesn't have it already. The whole album is amazing as well!
A common description for Nayeon is "born to be an idol". I think she really is. She's one of the most complete and charismatic idols ever, and she manages to make it all look easy

I think it was smart and the best move to have Nayeon go solo first, especially with this song! I would definitely say it's one of the best solo debuts possible for her, since it very much represents TWICE and Nayeon herself. When you hear this song, you know its Nayeon, and you know it's a TWICE song which imo is great! It also sets the tone for future solos TWICE may have. For example, now that Nayeon as gone solo, I can definitely imagine Jihyo debuting with a more mature song or Jeongyeong with a ballad 🥰💗
I hope for Momo they will go with kinda interpretative theme kinda same vibes with Taemin music. Because that GOODBYE AND MOVE covers with Momo really hits different! Especially MOVE! I hope all of them got the chance to go solo....

I have a feeling Jihyo will be the next solo, and I’d really like to see the different concepts she will try. I feel like JeongMoMiDaChae will be towards the end if they all are getting a solo debut. Sana and Tzuyu seem like good candidates for the solo after Jihyo since they’re popular in Korea, famed for their visuals and are well balanced idols.

I absolutely love this song, Nayeon completely killed it. Listening to it just makes you infinitely happier, so far my absolute favorite summer track. I've read this somewhere else, and I completely agree with it, that this is the most "kpop" sounding song in a while, compared to many more "western" songs. and western style is by no means a necessarily bad thing, but it feels really good and refreshing to hear a sound like this again. The rest of the album doesn't really appeal to me all too much, but POP is on repeat for me rn. 10/10 debut song! One thing I would like to quickly elaborate on is something that PD said in the video: "It's like a Twice song but Nayeon is doing it all on her own". Well, people might not like it, but Nayeon embodies Twice. There have been Twice releases recently without the one or other member, but I doubt it would ever work without Nayeon. So I hope a lot of people who have hated on Nayeon and Jihyo (but especially Nayeon) for having the most lines and screentime, realize now why that is. These two portrait the groups image the best, they have the best voices, they are the best at performing their songs on stage, it just makes sense. Twice is a 9 member group that works very well as that, but nobody can deny that Nayeon (and Jihyo) make Twice into what Twice is, hence their outstanding presence in most of their songs. I am not trying to downplay the contributions any of the other members male to the group, but to make haters see how vital Nayeon and Jihyo are to the group's success, and that these people should be thankful for what they do for the group musically as well as in terms of image instead of hating on them (especially Nayeon).
Nayeon has worked so hard for twice, shes often given the most lines and gets hate for it from once even though she had no say in the lines and more lines = more time working perfecting lines in a stuffy recording studio. She deserves this.
Nayeon has such an incredible stage presence without being affected or forcibly trying to catch the eye. I can't put my finger down on what exactly it is but even with all the different scenes, backup dancers etc. she effortlessly carries herself through this visual smorgasbord of input for the audience and she does it with such style and grace. The production supports her abilities and highlights her best features with an addictive and well made song + mv. She knows what she's doing and it's world class. If this is the standard of what we can expect for other twice members solo debuts, than damn.

I feel this could be a Twice song but they made it in a way where it’s all Nayeon’s style the whole way through. It would probably sound a little different where they would have to tailor the song to fit each member if it was a Twice song. once you listen to the whole album, you're absolutely going to say that this is one of the best solo debut of all time. what i love about it so much too is the fact that right now a lot of artists are coming out with experimental noise music that's doing it's very best to reinvent the wheel. then here comes nayeon giving a song that radiates a lot of 2nd and 3rd gen kpop vibes standing out from all the other current releases.
both the title track and the rest of the mini album was everything i ever wanted for her as a solo artist tbh! just bubblegum pop, good music and i enjoyed every second of it. also i think a lot of people say it sounds like a twice song is because nayeon is the literal embodiment of twice's sound. i wasn't surprised at all that she went for a song like this
Yeah Usually the title track is the weakest and the b side is a bop but in Nayeon case , it didn't happen . Like , POP is so far top 5 contender for my personal SOTY (Right beside INVU , HOT , O.O , and Feel My Rhythm) .

Oh small correction! Hayden Chapman and Greg Bonnick are LDN Noise, so they did participate in composing the song, not just the arrangement! I love checking song credits, and the team behind Nayeon's Pop! is basically a dream combo I typically would see in SM songs. I cannot wait for Nayeon's listening party, it's definitely one of my fav debut albums! She is just amazing~
I 100% agree with "forgetting" Nayeon is in Twice and this is what they DO. I just think of them as my favorite humans, and it's just an amazing added bonus when I remember they're performers 😂🥰 Nayeon DEFINITELY reminded us what she's capable of.

Nayeon is the Queen of K-Pop in my opinion. She can sing (so well, I honestly think her voice is such a big part of Twice’s songs catchiness) she can dance she can act and she has an amazing and genuine personality 🤍
What I love about Nayeon's solo debut is her oozing charisma and confidence. That's why I think this debut, this title track screams NAYEON. She really shines in everything.
For me it's on par with Taeyeons "I" as like top tier Idol solo debut. The songs have very different vibes but fit the singers so well and are so good and addicting. Only time will tell if Pop! is going to stand the test of time and become as iconic as I tho.
So long overdue, Twice as a whole are great, but Nayeon is just the one you always wait to see and hear her sing. She always delivers great vocals, even when she has a few lines. She has been worthy of a solo for so long, finally we can enjoy her talent and hard work as an idol exclusively.

Nayeon's release is fantastic. It's slightly better than what I expected, but I already expected it to be great. I think the only thing that could have really surprised me is if the concept was straight out of left field, but I don't think that would have been a great surprise. For Twice and Nayeon's first solo I think giving people what they want/expect but to a high level is the right call. She'll branch out as time goes on... Who's next? I feel like I've been waiting for Jihyo solo since Sixteen! HAHA! I get why Nayeon was first (most popular, oldest, capable of singing and performing a full song by herself, writes...), but I'm ready for Jihyo to just blow everyone who has been sleeping on her away! If it's anyone but her, I will be genuinely surprised. As for the others, I doubt we'll ever see full scale solo music releases from Dahyun, Sana, Momo, Mina, or Jungyeon. I don't know if they have the skills, confidence, and/or desire to do it. I'm sure they will go into other solo activities (acting, modeling, variety...). We might see some OSTs or solo performances every now and then, but a real solo release would surprise me. Tzuyu and Chaeyoung could happen. Tzuyu's skills have improved exponentially since debut, and I wouldn't be surprised if she has some solo releases in a few years, likely in Mandarin. Chaeyoung has ALWAYS had the skills to do it and I'm quite certain it will happen eventually. I do wonder if JYP will go for subunits. For some reason, I can't imagine any permanent Twice Sub-Units. They did the songs or their last album and I thought all of the groupings (while nice for fans) were a bit odd and unbalanced. Tzuyu, Dahyun, Chaeyoung could be interesting. Maybe you could add Momo to that line up too. I think a balanced group would be Jihyo, Chaeyoung, Sana, and Tzuyu, but I just can't see it happening.

somehow this song and mv, especially the mv reminded me of 2nd generation kpop. It was so colorful and bubbly.It's really something refreshing in between all female soloist's. cause it gave me that KPOP style kind of music, i fell in love with, when i got into kpop with 2nd gen groups. Nayeon isn't even my Twice bias, but with such fun songs, i can see myself getting her fan of her solo's.

Nayeon's debut is kind of...perfect imo. I love everything about it, the MV, the styling, the choreo (it's SO FUN), and the album is great.

I have a feeling Jihyo will be the next solo, and I’d really like to see the different concepts she will try. I feel like JeongMoMiDaChae will be towards the end if they all are getting a solo debut. Sana and Tzuyu seem like good candidates for the solo after Jihyo since they’re popular in Korea, famed for their visuals and are well balanced idols.

I absolutely love this song, Nayeon completely killed it. Listening to it just makes you infinitely happier, so far my absolute favorite summer track.
I've read this somewhere else, and I completely agree with it, that this is the most "kpop" sounding song in a while, compared to many more "western" songs. and western style is by no means a necessarily bad thing, but it feels really good and refreshing to hear a sound like this again.
The rest of the album doesn't really appeal to me all too much, but POP is on repeat for me rn.

One thing I would like to quickly elaborate on is something that PD said in the video: "It's like a Twice song but Nayeon is doing it all on her own". Well, people might not like it, but Nayeon embodies Twice. There have been Twice releases recently without the one or other member, but I doubt it would ever work without Nayeon. So I hope a lot of people who have hated on Nayeon and Jihyo (but especially Nayeon) for having the most lines and screentime, realize now why that is. These two portrait the groups image the best, they have the best voices, they are the best at performing their songs on stage, it just makes sense. Twice is a 9 member group that works very well as that, but nobody can deny that Nayeon (and Jihyo) make Twice into what Twice is, hence their outstanding presence in most of their songs.
I am not trying to downplay the contributions any of the other members male to the group, but to make haters see how vital Nayeon and Jihyo are to the group's success, and that these people should be thankful for what they do for the group musically as well as in terms of image instead of hating on them (especially Nayeon).
Nayeon is basically the blueprint for TWICE whole discography. It girl, material gurl.
Nayeon has worked so hard for twice, shes often given the most lines and gets hate for it from once even though she had no say in the lines and more lines = more time working perfecting lines in a stuffy recording studio. She deserves this.

Nayeon has such an incredible stage presence without being affected or forcibly trying to catch the eye. I can't put my finger down on what exactly it is but even with all the different scenes, backup dancers etc. she effortlessly carries herself through this visual smorgasbord of input for the audience and she does it with such style and grace. The production supports her abilities and highlights her best features with an addictive and well made song + mv. She knows what she's doing and it's world class.
If this is the standard of what we can expect for other twice members solo debuts, than damn.

I feel this could be a Twice song but they made it in a way where it’s all Nayeon’s style the whole way through. It would probably sound a little different where they would have to tailor the song to fit each member if it was a Twice song. So proud of Nayeon on her solo debut and looking forward to any other Twice member solos. I enjoyed this song as it’s so Nayeon and the album was really good.
Nayeon is the first member to have an official solo. This is the title track for an album that also has a song that features Felix which is actually my favorite song of the album. I hope you can check it out!
once you listen to the whole album, you're absolutely going to say that this is one of the best solo debut of all time.
what i love about it so much too is the fact that right now a lot of artists are coming out with experimental noise music that's doing it's very best to reinvent the wheel. then here comes nayeon giving a song that radiates a lot of 2nd and 3rd gen kpop vibes standing out from all the other current releases.

Nayeon is the Queen of K-Pop in my opinion. She can sing (so well, I honestly think her voice is such a big part of Twice’s songs catchiness) she can dance she can act and she has an amazing and genuine personality 🤍
And she has one of, if not, the best aegyo in kPop (only Sunny of SNSD compares) and she’s an acrostic poem genius.
What I love about Nayeon's solo debut is her oozing charisma and confidence. That's why I think this debut, this title track screams NAYEON. She really shines in everything.

So long overdue, Twice as a whole are great, but Nayeon is just the one you always wait to see and hear her sing. She always delivers great vocals, even when she has a few lines. She has been worthy of a solo for so long, finally we can enjoy her talent and hard work as an idol exclusively.

Nayeon's release is fantastic. It's slightly better than what I expected, but I already expected it to be great. I think the only thing that could have really surprised me is if the concept was straight out of left field, but I don't think that would have been a great surprise. For Twice and Nayeon's first solo I think giving people what they want/expect but to a high level is the right call. She'll branch out as time goes on...
Who's next? I feel like I've been waiting for Jihyo solo since Sixteen! HAHA!
I get why Nayeon was first (most popular, oldest, capable of singing and performing a full song by herself, writes...), but I'm ready for Jihyo to just blow everyone who has been sleeping on her away! If it's anyone but her, I will be genuinely surprised.
As for the others, I doubt we'll ever see full scale solo music releases from Dahyun, Sana, Momo, Mina, or Jungyeon. I don't know if they have the skills, confidence, and/or desire to do it. I'm sure they will go into other solo activities (acting, modeling, variety...). We might see some OSTs or solo performances every now and then, but a real solo release would surprise me.
Tzuyu and Chaeyoung could happen. Tzuyu's skills have improved exponentially since debut, and I wouldn't be surprised if she has some solo releases in a few years, likely in Mandarin. Chaeyoung has ALWAYS had the skills to do it and I'm quite certain it will happen eventually.
I do wonder if JYP will go for subunits. For some reason, I can't imagine any permanent Twice Sub-Units. They did the songs or their last album and I thought all of the groupings (while nice for fans) were a bit odd and unbalanced.
Tzuyu, Dahyun, Chaeyoung could be interesting. Maybe you could add Momo to that line up too. I think a balanced group would be Jihyo, Chaeyoung, Sana, and Tzuyu, but I just can't see it happening.

This song reminded me of the OG k-pop vibe and the chorus and post chorus pop pop pop is definitely hard carrying the song because damn is it addicting.
somehow this song and mv, especially the mv reminded me of 2nd generation kpop. It was so colorful and bubbly.It's really something refreshing in between all female soloist's. cause it gave me that KPOP style kind of music, i fell in love with, when i got into kpop with 2nd gen groups. Nayeon isn't even my Twice bias, but with such fun songs, i can see myself getting her fan of her solo's.
