We have been doing haircuts at home for years, my husband is the family barber and stylist. I get my long hair trimmed every couple months and my teen boys get their haircuts every three weeks. Hubby has the good Wahl Designer clippers, peanut clippers, capes, combs, hairclips and the high quality hair shears. He has a lot of experience given my boys hundreds of haircuts as well as cutting mine and giving haircuts to friends of mine. He does great work. The advantage we have in this situation is that we are continuing to get our haircuts without worrying about going out. It also saves me over a grand a year. Definitely a great money saving skill to learn.

She did so so good on her braids they were cute!!I Luvd seeing that cus it shows anyone can wear or do cornrows it’s not just for us African American♥️ I braid my own hair all the time&as long as they aren’t super tight they dont pull my hair out braids actually helps hair grow!
Honestly I’m a little bit surprised you guys haven’t always cut the boys’ hair at home, the price of a good set of clippers pay for themselves within like a month, especially with a large family! I’ve got four boys and I’ve always cut their hair myself at home. I taught myself with TH-cam tutorials! One of my sons has extremely curly hair and has recently been growing it out into a longer shaggy style so I took him to a barber so it could get properly styled and layered about a month ago because that seemed too advanced for me (my boys have only ever had short cuts), but now with quarantine I guess I’m going to learn fast how to cut shaggy cuts, or he’s getting it buzzed again lol

That was a darn good home haircut. I’m impressed. I cut my husbands hair sometimes and it takes me a long time ...and he has a fraction of this child’s hair! I guess when u have that much hair u can be more careless...we have thin hair in my family so it’s always about how I pump up my hair to make it look fuller! I admit I’m a little jealous of all u thick haired folks!!!

I bought hair clippers through Amazon and cut my husband's hair during this "stay-at-home" business. I simply watched a couple TH-cams and it turned out great! I also thought Esther should start cutting the boys' hair. lol

Yes, I was so shocked seeing those in use for such a thick 'dough'. Those ones are for more liquidy things: most cakes, whipped cream. Thicker types like bread or pizza or this stuff need the curly ones.
I just bought a humidifier and started using oils but only the cheap ones still natural and reliable. Maybe i can afford those doTERRA oils in the future. You guys inspired me in using oils. Thanks!
With that many heads, I'm surprised you don't do more at home haircuts. I've done hair cuts with our 4 kids for 13 years. Even if we go to a shop sometimes, I can do full cuts or touchups as needed. Invest in some good scissors and you'll be set.

I'd say "Yes" He is so cautious about mixing craft concoctions with food. That said I would totally try this when he isn't around and not tell him I used the food mixer. Have you tried a Ninja mixer?

Hahaha Peter! My 7 year old Uriah hates haircuts too! I’m actually posting a video tomorrow of my husband cutting our Elijah’s hair while using some unconventional tools. Like an air compressor to get the hair off. Lol! You guys did a great job though! That hair is just amazing!
If you know Andrew’s prescription from his last eye doctor visit you can find great inexpensive glasses at Zenni optical online. He can try them on virtually. I’ve been very impressed with mine.
That reminds me of the big lentil soup fiasko of 2015. Where I had a certain amount of lentils and doubled the other ingredients accordingly without thinking about who would eat all that soup. Flatmates gone for the weekend and we didn’t have a freezer. I am still being mocked today... xD
So funny......I just cut one of my boys hair too.....we’re all in the same boat😂😂My boys don’t have curls though.....should be a funny story in the scrapbook😂
I totally agree with you, using a decent set of hair clippers designed for the job at hand makes a big difference. I have been giving haircuts to family members and friends for years and I invested in a good set of the Wahl Designer clippers years ago. They are very well made and I use Clippercide to lubricate and disinfect the blades between haircuts. It is definitely easier when you are prepared with good hair shears, capes, combs and hair clips. I am definitely spoiled having used good tools and seeing excellent results, and I would hate to have to try to do a decent haircut with dull shears. It would definitely be more difficult. Given the current situation, Sally’s and other beauty supply stores where you can get decent tools and supplies are closed and online stores are sold out as everyone is looking for good clippers and shears to do home haircuts. So while you cannot just get them right now, it is something I would encourage as well that given such a large family, investing in good quality clippers, shears and hair capes to continue to do home haircuts is a great idea.

Theres a mixing attachment for drills that might work better for mixing the clay. They're about 10-20$

You can put a mixer blade in your drill to mix heavy stuff.

Yep, I think sharp hairdresser scissors are key to hair cutting confidence. They aren't too expensive, either. Anyway, it turned out fine!
