I'm curious about the gingerbread house construction/decoration. I've been using kits for my grandkids but would like to find a more economical method. Did you hot glue the houses ahead of time? Does grocery store icing work to hold the candy on? Did you use other types of icing? Making that royal icing is a pain the neck!

Instead of hot glue use white chocolate, it hardens quickly and is still edible
