holy crap...I just got this game on the 6th for $6 at gamestop. and now here is the CGR review. i feel so blessed. Its like Mark was reading my mind and said, "I need to review this game for Steve is Sacramento who just picked it up. He would enjoy that."
Me too, i was 10 when it was released. My sister had recently bought a wii and when i went to visit her husband had bought this game. He showed it to me and i was instantly hooked! They got me my own copy for christmas and i still play it to this day!
I played this game over 6 years ago. I couldn't read the tital so today I decided to try to find that game. Thanks so much. This is that game. It was my favorite.
Take heart, you just came up with a perfectly valid reason to modify the piece of hardware that you own. I'm not saying you should pirate a game that you do not have access to because of greedy region locks (you should), but you could softmod to make your system play a disc you buy from overseas. It is yours afterall.
when you started picking up speed i was surprised that it was a wii game, the colors looked really good,i probably wont pick it up unless its on sale but it looks like i could be pretty fun, surprisingly enough i really like racing games on the wii.
The Wii U does NOT upconvert to 1080i. Wii mode runs in native 480p and does not do upscaling, upconverting, etc. Your TV settings may just be better in the HDMI settings.
For me, this game is the Beetle Adventure Racing of the Wii... In that it was the most fun racing game for the N64.. Yet, nobody had known of it... Love this game.. It's a gem...
Such an underrated first-party (yes Nintendo published this) racer on the Wii. I imported it and hacked my Wii just to play it. It's so wonderfully bonkers.
Watching this makes me miss Excite Trucks so much! There was nothing quite like ramping a beat up old pickup over an entire mountain range at subsonic speeds... with Gamma Ray playing. >_> Speaking of music that wasn't in the game, I wonder if this one has MP3 playback as well, shame they didn't use that feature in many Wii games.
when he said "wii u" i was so happy. ive been dying for even a mention from him because now i no reviews r coming. btw this game looks very impressive for wii. the wii u does really make a difference.
This game needs to be on the PC so I can play it. It reminds me of that one racing game where you play as animals that run instead of driving and it's like Mario Kart and it has a robot dog that flies instead of rolling. That dog was the best. I can't remember the name of it though... Shucks.
No, but it's super easy to flash mod the console. The only thing you need is an SD card. (I'm not the most technical guy in the world per say) and i did it. And if i can do it, I think everyone can.
yyeah, Monster games is a Nintendo Second party studio. Excitetruck and Excitebots is kinda like the lesser known racing equivalents to the likes of Metroid Prime. Both series are old nintendo franchises outsourced to western devs that don't quite play like what you'd expect out of their respective genres. Yeah, that's right, Mark. this game is a spiritual sequel of sorts to Excitebike! Also, Monster games made Pilotwings Resort! You've reviewed that, Mark! you've heard of these guys!
Weird. Was just thinking of this game the other day, probably one of my most anticipated games and I never got to get my hands on it because it never got a PAL release. Sad times.
I have a wii, but there aren't any good hardcore games on it, but i think ill try this, seems better than mario kart , patiently waiting on that ps4 though!
The main reason I didn't actually buy this game when I found it is because it was too similar to a game I had already gotten, by the name of Excite Trucks. But now that I actually see the gameplay, it looks just as fun, if not better, than that game.
Considering the amount of consoles that exist, that's honestly not too much money saved on taxes. That would definitely be less than $100 saved on taxes in a year.
Unless it gets a PAL release I'll have to stick with Excite Bike or hunt down a copy of Excite Truck. And based on what I've heard about Excite Truck it seems sticking with Excite Bike may just be the best deal of the two.
my nrother got this game a few years ago and played it once while i watched, then i never knew what he did with it, i never forgot the name or anything i just never thought of it or didnt have the money on me at the time to get it myself,... now i think i might go pick it up
I thought this game was a lot of fun. It's not the best racing game on the Wii, but it's certainly one of the best party games on the Wii. I really wouldn't consider this a racing game. It's way too zany for that. It uses motion controls better than many other first party Nintendo games on the Wii. I think that's where people may have been confused. ExciteBike, ExciteTruck, and ExciteBots are all part of the same franchise. This game is essentially the sequel to ExciteTruck.
I got this for 2.99'in the bargain bin at best buy, and it ended up being my favorite kart racing game
I used to play that so much, memories
Exite Truck and ExiteBots looks so good, I thought I was playing a ps3 game, the graphics are so bloody good
one question.....does it have split screen multiplayer?
I loved this game. Everyone else was playin their Need for Speed, I was just sittin at home with my EXCITEBOTS
This is one of my favorite games on the Wii.
That does look fun, in a very Hydro Thunder / SF Rush kind of way. Love racing games with big jumps and shortcuts.
such a deep cut of mine playing this game. flooded a lot of memories watching this video
I have a feeling if I listened to your intro music on its own I would still imagine a game cover dancing in front of me. Love your videos, btw.

You should review Excite Truck. It's the prequel to this game.
This game was 1 of my childhoods games i played when i was a little kid
Me too, i was 10 when it was released. My sister had recently bought a wii and when i went to visit her husband had bought this game. He showed it to me and i was instantly hooked! They got me my own copy for christmas and i still play it to this day!
Got this game for 5 dollars. 5 dollars well spent.
Used to play this game so much as a kid, good memories
I played this game over 6 years ago. I couldn't read the tital so today I decided to try to find that game. Thanks so much. This is that game. It was my favorite.
I'd like to get a Wii U, cause Mark said that playing old Wii games on a Wii U would look great, even in High-Def!
I love this game so much.
This game was the real MVP.
+Joseph Sisto
mvp ?

Excitebots and Excite Truck are among the best racing games I've ever played
when you started picking up speed i was surprised that it was a wii game, the colors looked really good,i probably wont pick it up unless its on sale but it looks like i could be pretty fun, surprisingly enough i really like racing games on the wii.
I still have this on my Wii! Best played with the Wii Wheel attachment!
You have to review ExciteTruck if you get the chance Mark. It's essentially the predecessor of ExciteBots, but just as much fun!
Wii have so much unfairly underrated games, that are actually so much fun, when you are playing them.
The Wii U does NOT upconvert to 1080i. Wii mode runs in native 480p and does not do upscaling, upconverting, etc. Your TV settings may just be better in the HDMI settings.

It wasn't mentioned, but this game is basically a sequel to ExciteTruck, which was one of the wii's first titles.
They made an earlier game, for the Wii, called Excite Truck. I found that game to be fun as hell.
Watching this makes me miss Excite Trucks so much! There was nothing quite like ramping a beat up old pickup over an entire mountain range at subsonic speeds... with Gamma Ray playing. >_>
Speaking of music that wasn't in the game, I wonder if this one has MP3 playback as well, shame they didn't use that feature in many Wii games.
@txcforever, the last bot you unlock is a truck from excitetruck ^_^
This game was and is still a blast to play
Bought this game at FYE for sale of 10 dollars when it was 24 dollars. So fun and addicting.
Im in a library drinking cold mocha watching cgr, can a life get any better than this..........yes,yes it can.
Can't wait for you to review the WII U
when he said "wii u" i was so happy. ive been dying for even a mention from him because now i no reviews r coming. btw this game looks very impressive for wii. the wii u does really make a difference.
How does Classic Game Room do this? I was just looking this game up yesterday and then Boom! They review it. Might pick this up, looks pretty awesome!
Its the sequal to exite truck. Which was bloody fantastic fun and still is to this day :-)
This game needs to be on the PC so I can play it. It reminds me of that one racing game where you play as animals that run instead of driving and it's like Mario Kart and it has a robot dog that flies instead of rolling. That dog was the best. I can't remember the name of it though... Shucks.
I love this game! It owns Mario Kart Wii.
This game made my childhood, I remember in the save name I put the L’s as J’s
That's impressive. There are some really difficult tracks to score highly on.
It's in the excite series, it's a sequal to excite truck
It looks good, i've played Excite Truck which was pretty fun but I stopped playing it before too long.
this game was so amazing. the online was incredible.
one of the most fun racing games ever
I've seen this one but past on it based on the cover. I think it was cheap too so if the gamestore still has it, I'll pick it up :)
can you review black ops 2 on the wii u with using motions plus??
I can't believe he didn't talk in depth about the Wi-Fi!
That's its defining achievement!
No, but it's super easy to flash mod the console. The only thing you need is an SD card. (I'm not the most technical guy in the world per say) and i did it. And if i can do it, I think everyone can.
i heard good things about this game in Nintendo Power around when it came out
I guess you're right. I should try one day if it is so easy as you say.
Seriously underrated title.
This looks truly entertaining, unlike some other racers I've seen lately...
So dope! Loved this game!
I enjoyed Excite Truck a lot so... I guess this game holds up to it, then?
Mark can you do a review of kenetica on the ps2
it doesn't play my monster hunter tri in full screen for some reason :(
"♪Exite Bots, More Than You'd Expect"♪

Man I wish they would make a sequel for the wii u
It makes me sad to this day that this never got a PAL release :( Looks so ridiculously fun.
I don't recall ntsc wii games being compatible on a pal wii...
Weird. Was just thinking of this game the other day, probably one of my most anticipated games and I never got to get my hands on it because it never got a PAL release. Sad times.
this game was my childhood
I have a wii, but there aren't any good hardcore games on it, but i think ill try this, seems better than mario kart , patiently waiting on that ps4 though!
Wow, this game looks great! Such a shame it's not available in Europe... :'(
The main reason I didn't actually buy this game when I found it is because it was too similar to a game I had already gotten, by the name of Excite Trucks. But now that I actually see the gameplay, it looks just as fun, if not better, than that game.

Hey Mark, speaking of Nintendo-published 3D racers... how's that F-Zero GX review coming? ;-) Well, I know it'll be great when it comes out.
This game was fucking amazing.
Every wii owner knows of this game already, it's awesome.
great game. one of my favs on the wii, although I like the excite trucks one better
Hey Mark you should try Skyward Sword on the Wii U with the improved graphics, you may like it more.
Isn't that made in the same collection as Excitebike and Excitetruck?
Unless it gets a PAL release I'll have to stick with Excite Bike or hunt down a copy of Excite Truck.
And based on what I've heard about Excite Truck it seems sticking with Excite Bike may just be the best deal of the two.
Played this when it came out but I forgot how fast it is. Seriously, just look at that!
It is Excitetrucks. Just without the trucks. Same developer and everything.
I'm not surprised he has reviewed wii u an vita games yet, he's hoping someone will donate them probebly
Yeah, I think it's a sequel to ExciteTruck, which is supposed to be a sequel to ExciteBike.
I´ve never heard about this game,looks great,it looks like a cute(I can´t find another word)version of F-Zero
No, why is there 7 dislikes! But seriously, who the heck is disliking Mark and Excitebots? Perhaps they just don't like Irish shirts.
Is this an ExciteBike sequel?
Your Wii U Review brought me here
Looks very exciting!
I love this game, bought it before I watched this, but the online is awesome, and everything about it is very solid to me.
my nrother got this game a few years ago and played it once while i watched, then i never knew what he did with it, i never forgot the name or anything i just never thought of it or didnt have the money on me at the time to get it myself,... now i think i might go pick it up
Freakin' LOVE this game.
Did you get an Atari Jaguar yet?
I thought this game was a lot of fun. It's not the best racing game on the Wii, but it's certainly one of the best party games on the Wii. I really wouldn't consider this a racing game. It's way too zany for that. It uses motion controls better than many other first party Nintendo games on the Wii. I think that's where people may have been confused. 2:22 if that was in sonic and all stars racing transformed it will kind of feel like a sonic 3d game
>turning tricks on the wii
Oh, baby!
I heard a Rumour that the Developers from this Game work on a new Diddy Kong Racing for the Wii U!
*Sequel
And both games are spiritual successors to the excitebike series.
Greatest racing game on the Wii
This game is so different from other kart racers that it's not even a kart racer
I’ve played this at grandmas house long ago she passed away in 2018
the online play is decent and much better than you would expect, but i found it fun just to race 2 players against bots.
I have to admit i looks kinda fun. But I'll never get over that they never made an Excite Trucks 2. (And probably never will)
@TheAirShooter did I say something wrong?
