I think 1 of our Pentaholics did mention to you, they were nominated for 5 grammys, won 3 and received there star on Walk of fame Hollywood 2023. No other Acapella group like them. Greetings from South Africa
I agree please make a list of the Pentaholics songs you reacted to already so we can give you direction on which song to react next. Don't stop reacting to our Pentatonix. Listen to O Holy night released Nov/Dec 2023 to really enjoy Kirstie an d Matt's voices. Outstanding. Greetings from South Africa
I enjoyed your reaction to and analysis of this beautiful Pentatonix video. Thank you. I look forward to more of your Pentatonix reactions. Kirstin and Mitch sounding alike is intentional. They create harmonies perfectly. I guess you can do that when you've known each other since you were 9 and 8 years old and have been singing together most of your lives.
Be aware that Kevin is a tenor, and is known for the beauty of his falsetto. In fact, when Mitch and Kirstie are asked which of them sings higher they tend to look at each other, shrug, and say "Maybe Kevin?" Also be aware that Kevin can fit some of those bell tones in even while he's beatboxing, which means that it isn't at all obvious who is doing what in the high harmonies.
If you get yourself a good headphones you'll be able to hear all of their tones/harmonies. Once you get them, listen to them again, the you posted on YT already. You'll love PTX even more.
Yes, Mitch and Kirstie often sound very similar. There are a few songs where there isn't an official video for the song, and you have to listen pretty carefully and know their voices pretty well to be able to tell who is singing (Let It Go from Frozen is a classic of this). Their vocal ranges overlap so much, which is not something you'll normally get with male and female singers. Mitch can reach up high into alto/soprano range, and Kirstie has even been introduced by Scott as "our alto-soprano", so she can get down fairly low for a female. The way I sometimes have to tell the difference is by their vibrato - Kirstie's is almost always faster and lighter than what Mitch uses, although Mitch can change his vibrato depending on what he thinks the song calls for; contrast The Prayer and Can't Help Falling In Love.
The arpeggio notes ( bell tones) are probably done by Kevin in this song. The group makes use of those bell tones in quite a few songs. Yes, Mitch is known for his clear diction when singing. They all have amazing vocal ranges...4 octaves each and more ...except Kevin who has a 2 or 3 octave range and is a tenor. I'm surprised you still are not using headphones or earbuds. You're missing some of the details without them.
Scott covers the bass when avi or Matt sings lead. He has an amazing range like Mitch. They all are amazing but I don't think many know Scott covers for bass.
New subscriber, happy to have found you. I too love the way each singer enunciates, but none more than Mitch. “Flash” and “split” would seem to be difficult but he makes it seem effortless. I can usually pick out the vocals of Mitch and Kirstie, but you’re right, they can be very similar. Thanks for exploring Pentatonix, I hope you continue. Amazing Grace is a great example of Kirstie’s belting ability. Peace …
new here from ireland can you react to pentatonix new rules. havana. gold. love again. sing. cheer leader. also scott hoying and mario jose lost on you
Great reaction. I agree about Kirstie - usually she sings at a higher register but either way, she can really belt it.

Beautiful performance and they certainly did the song justice. More PTX?
Where are your headphones? It is sacrilege. to listen to this group or any vocal group without them. You are missing so much.
