SPOILERS FOR FF7 AHEAD The reason why Sephiroth basically follows Cloud everywhere he goes is actually something canon within the FF7 timeline. It's called the Reunion Theory. The Reunion Theory is a theory made by Professor Hojo positing that when Jenova cells, once seperated, will seek to reunite and return to the main body, influencing the minds of the creatures the cells are implanted in to do so. Professor Hojo put this theory to the test in the aftermath of the Nibelheim incident, injecting Cloud Strife and Zack Fair with Sephiroth's cells. Sephiroth was the son of Lucrecia Crescent, who agreed to have the embryo injected with Jenova cells. This succeeded and Sephiroth was born from this experiment. Since Cloud was injected with Sephiroth's cells and therefore has Jenova's cells within him, Cloud and Sephiroth are part of the Reunion Theory and consequently "reunite" in different games.

SPOILERS FOR FF7 AHEAD
The reason why Sephiroth basically follows Cloud everywhere he goes is actually something canon within the FF7 timeline. It's called the Reunion Theory.
The Reunion Theory is a theory made by Professor Hojo positing that when Jenova cells, once seperated, will seek to reunite and return to the main body, influencing the minds of the creatures the cells are implanted in to do so.
Professor Hojo put this theory to the test in the aftermath of the Nibelheim incident, injecting Cloud Strife and Zack Fair with Sephiroth's cells.
Sephiroth was the son of Lucrecia Crescent, who agreed to have the embryo injected with Jenova cells. This succeeded and Sephiroth was born from this experiment.
Since Cloud was injected with Sephiroth's cells and therefore has Jenova's cells within him, Cloud and Sephiroth are part of the Reunion Theory and consequently "reunite" in different games.
I don't care what the game says... Vincent is Seph's father. Hojo doesn't seem like the type that has any sexual urges regardless if it's for science. Him making other things have sex, yes but not himself.
