Lysine is huge for preventing cold sore. Lysine supplementation reduces the severity, duration & frequency of cold sores. I used to have terrible out breaks of cold sores for about 6-8 months a year. I started taking lysine & now my cold sore may happen every couple years & last a couple days. I have also increased the amount of meat I eat & cold sores have not returned. cold sores: the amino acid arginine helps HSV replicate it cells causing breakouts, whilst the amino acid lysine stops this from happening. High arginine foods include (but not limited to); chocolate, nuts, seeds, wheat. Supplement with lysine which is an important amino acid anyway, 1000mg daily or x3 a week, and if feel tingling in lips, up it to 3,000mg. Note that higher doses than 3,000mg can cause diarrhoea. 👍

Here is a quick cure for cold sores - it seems crazy but works. When you feel the first little tingle, start tapping that spot with Carmex. Massage the Carmex into the spot. I use the lip balm tube or my finger. The more the better. You can also refrigerate the Carmex to make it more solid and rub it on the area. Most often, the cold sore will not develop and goes away. This is such a strange treatment since a bump on the lip or sharp pressure on the lips can trigger a cold sore but it amazingly works.

Two points. I’ve been getting canker sores recently but it’s from these delicious chili and lime coated pistachios I get from sprouts. So good but just too acidic and gives me canker sores when I eat them day after day, so it could always be something that simple as well (acidic foods). Secondly, I’ve tried everything from lysine to Abreva to whatever the next scheme was and I would still always get cold sores 2-4 times a year. My main triggers seemed to be changes in the seasons and overexposure to the sun. Up until about three years ago I started taking lysine with cold snap from Natural Grocers, and I haven’t had one single cold, sore in three years, which is pretty amazing considering I would get 2-4 yearly! I get tons of canker sores and never had them until I got Breast Cancer 15 years ago . I tried really hard to watch what I eat. Acidic , sweets , spicy I have to stay away from and I am GF now . I get cold sores the week leading up to my period. I believe it’s linked to hormones. If i eat gelatin like vitamins that use gelatin for the capsules even collagen which is gelatin. Also chocolate triggers them.

The only side effects applies to people who are diabetic. In that case they might need to give a diabetic something else. I haven't had any problem with that medicine. There could be a home remedy but I don't know what it could be. L-lysine might work but in large doses like 5 grams in your coffee or juice. Praying 🙏For you.

I have found that cold sores react in me when I have to much caffeine like coke or coffee. Especially when I travel. I start lysine CAPSULES asap for fast absorption. 1st dosage 4 CAPSULES/500mg per CAPSULE. Then 2 every 2 -4 hours. Apply topical lysine to reduce pain and heal faster. Key is treatment asap.

I’m not sure that cold sores are always related to low immune system. For me, I really rarely catch a cold or flu. I realitively eat healthy and I have not even officially diagnosed with Covid as a Nurse who actively works and as an individual really do not worry about not wearing mask in public. BUT! Lysine is huge for preventing cold sore. Lysine supplementation reduces the severity, duration & frequency of cold sores. I used to have terrible out breaks of cold sores for about 6-8 months a year. I started taking lysine & now my cold sore may happen every couple years & last a couple days. I have also increased the amount of meat I eat & cold sores have not returned.

High arginine foods include (but not limited to); chocolate, nuts, seeds, wheat. Supplement with lysine which is an important amino acid anyway, 1000mg daily or x3 a week, and if feel tingling in lips, up it to 3,000mg. Note that higher doses than 3,000mg can cause diarrhoea. 👍

Here is a quick cure for cold sores - it seems crazy but works. When you feel the first little tingle, start tapping that spot with Carmex. Massage the Carmex into the spot. I use the lip balm tube or my finger. The more the better. You can also refrigerate the Carmex to make it more solid and rub it on the area. Most often, the cold sore will not develop and goes away. This is such a strange treatment since a bump on the lip or sharp pressure on the lips can trigger a cold sore but it amazingly works.

Two points. I’ve been getting canker sores recently but it’s from these delicious chili and lime coated pistachios I get from sprouts. So good but just too acidic and gives me canker sores when I eat them day after day, so it could always be something that simple as well (acidic foods). Secondly, I’ve tried everything from lysine to Abreva to whatever the next scheme was and I would still always get cold sores 2-4 times a year. My main triggers seemed to be changes in the seasons and overexposure to the sun. Up until about three years ago I started taking lysine with cold snap from Natural Grocers, and I haven’t had one single cold, sore in three years, which is pretty amazing considering I would get 2-4 yearly! Highly recommend cold snap!

I'm seeing an fmd who put me on a restrictive diet that excluded all of my food sensitivities as well as many other triggering foods. During this time I had more canker sores than ever in my life. This worked for me for about 10 years, but now my mouth doesn’t care what kind of toothpaste I use. Been using natural toothpaste and they’re worse than ever before (every couple of weeks, 5-30 ulcers at a time).

I get tons of canker sores and never had them until I got Breast Cancer 15 years ago . I tried really hard to watch what I eat. Acidic , sweets , spicy I have to stay away from and I am GF now . I was told to take4 Llysine every day, for me, I get tired of taking all of these over-the-counter meds .
Where do I start with treating reoccurring canker sores? I get them several times a year. Usually in the same area.
Get tested for Celiac Disease, then look at deficiency with Folate, Vitamin B12, Iron etc if you get tested for the CD (which blocks your ability to absorb nutrients) it will show all of your blood work. I used to get these every 3 weeks before i was diagnosed and started adjusting my diet to be more nutrient & vitamin specific

I've gotten since I was a child. It was much more severe back then. I started smoking cigarettes in my early 20s and I noticed they went away completely. Once I quit smoking in my 30s, they came back. Not as bad when I was young, but quite often. Ive been to doctors but found zero solutions.

I get cold sores the week leading up to my period. I believe it’s linked to hormones. If i eat gelatin like vitamins that use gelatin for the capsules even collagen which is gelatin. Also chocolate triggers them.

I got a mouth full of this sores right after the second Pfizer vaccination. The only time that happened, and it took me 8 months to clear them up. I cleared them up with fermented food like kimshee and marinated mushrooms.

@@raniamavromara7127 I have to take acyclovir now. It's pretty good. It fights all viruses and NOW my mouth is cleared of sores. I read the ingredients and it looked pretty safe to use. The only side effects applies to people who are diabetic. In that case they might need to give a diabetic something else. I haven't had any problem with that medicine.
There could be a home remedy but I don't know what it could be. L-lysine might work but in large doses like 5 grams in your coffee or juice. Praying 🙏For you.

I have found that cold sores react in me when I have to much caffeine like coke or coffee. Especially when I travel. I start lysine CAPSULES asap for fast absorption. 1st dosage 4 CAPSULES/500mg per CAPSULE. Then 2 every 2 -4 hours. Apply topical lysine to reduce pain and heal faster. Key is treatment asap.

I always have gotten cankers from 20s to now 44. I have 2 big ones the last week and its as shitty as always. I’m not sure that cold sores are always related to low immune system. For me, I really rarely catch a cold or flu. I realitively eat healthy and I have not even officially diagnosed with Covid as a Nurse who actively works and as an individual really do not worry about not wearing mask in public. BUT! I’m about to kill myself because of this cold sores sometimes can be 5-6 in a row! And for the last 2 years it has started to flare up on my menstrual cycle 🤦♀️ I have used Valtrex as a suppressive, however as soon as treatment has stopped it starts again after 5-6 months.
