    What a beautiful vessel, really lovely, sleek lines, like a high performance racing yacht with incredible capabilities and capacity!
    For a vessel of her beam she is so sleek and motors speedily!
    That such a huge, heavy, high capacity self rescue vessel could free fall from such a great height, immediately recover and motor away so rapidly establishes beyond doubt that the minds that conceived and the craftspeople whom built her were absolute experts in their craft!

      Im prefer this one for conversion,
      More sleek design so it can modified with more powerful engine,
      6 knots its too slow for regular lifeboat

      , based on another video elsewhere, passengers experience 20+ Gs. Occupants sit on impact-absorbing foam, strapped in with their backs facing the bow; with those near the bow sitting at a different angle to those at the stern.

      You are securely straped down (belts around legs, 5-point around groin/stomach, belt over forehead) in some fitted chairs. It does not hurt whatsoever to do this, it's like riding a smooth roller coaster. Now, I've never done it from 65 meters but we had to do it from 30 when I took my qualification-course to work on an oilrig.

      @@petterskoglund2228 The fitted chairs? You mean the slightly curve fiberglass with no leg room? They discontinued the drop due to it being an unnecessary risk, now you go in and strap in and walk out but maybe I took a ghetto course since we only had a 4 point harness and no forehead strap.

    The lack of those lifeboats is that they can't stay under water. To integrate the submarine-effect is highly important, because life-indangering situation come up in storm threatening those vessels with cliffs and riffs to avoid, but only under water.

      Statistically, lifeboats have killed more people then they have saved. Most of the deaths have been on mandatory drills and exercises. There would be more people alive today if lifeboats were never invented in the first place. Most ironic thing ever.

    • @etienneschmid11
      @etienneschmid11 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is a need for that, its a quick way to get off the ship and away from a ship when you are, on a burning Oiltanker you dont want to be let down slowly in to the wather and then start the engin to get away. You wana go down fast and get away fast.

    • @ChuckFickens1972
      @ChuckFickens1972 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doesn't work like that, water is incompressible so it's density remains constant no matter how deep you go meaning buoyancy also remains constant, if it can float on the surface it would rise to the surface no matter how deep it goes.

      @christopherguy1217 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only time it won't come back up is if it goes deeper than its crush depth.
