I was trying to communicate something along the lines of “I have no idea how fast you work, but even a novice should be able to complete this in a single day (working moderately slowly) with blueprints”.
I purchased the plans. Justin delivered them very quickly and the plans were very well put together. I'm quite pleased with the extra content included. Thanks
Very well engineered! I am looking forward to building it. Thanks also for the extra designs for other ways to work with the animals. We have sheep, but I am sure it will work with the sheep just fine. Your head gate design is ingenious! The linkages look like they would function perfectly. The cost to build this will be much better than the high cost of a commercially manufactured squeeze chute. Again, thanks for sharing your design.
I set out to make this because I wasnt pleased with the existing designs for head gates. A milking stanchion requires you to grab each goat individually, pick them up on a table, drag them into the headlock by their horns, and then release them off the side. Another design was an automatic head gate, which I have used the same design with cattle and learned to hate. All of your animals have to be the same size or else you will be constantly adjusting the width, they have to run into it sufficiently hard with their shoulders to trip the lock (shy animals never do this hard enough), and occasionally the trip will miss the head and lock around their hips (causing you to have a panicked, flailing animal prone to hurting itself). After 2 years, I finally came up with a design that I liked. I decided not to manufacture them for 4 reasons: 1. Theres not enough of a market for these things to set up an assembly line, so they would end up being made to order, and I wouldnt be able to make it any cheaper than your local welding shop. 2. Your local welding shop can weld and fabricate better than me, an amateur 3. Shipping would cost just as much as the head gate. 4. I'm not quitting my day job for something with such a niche market. So, here I am, trying to sell just the design.
The automatically-sent email is just a link to download the plans. It only works for 1 download. I can see on my end that the email was opened, then plans were downloaded to your computer. Then it was purchased and downloaded again. You can’t keep going back to the email. The plans are in one of the files on your computer. I’ll issue a refund for the 2nd download.
There is a link under the description. Can you see it? It should be automatic. Once you pay through paypal (they also take credit/debit cards), you should get an email containing the plans. If you have any issues, please email me at justin4484@gmail.com
You don’t have to have a PayPal account. To be able to take a debit card, I either have to rent a machine by the month, or run it through someone like PayPal or square (where I pay them a % off each swipe). PayPal is just who “swipes” the card for me. You can pay with any debit or credit card. I have it set up where as soon as the credit card goes through, an email is sent to you containing the plans. The download link for the plan only works once, so I would be sure to be on a computer or iPad (and not your phone) when you download it. I did that to keep people from being able to just post the download link on online forums and stuff (and share it with the whole internet for free). If you have any problems, shoot me an email.

I love the unit of measure for time is “Saturdays” completely undefined and universally Understood.

I think it works.

Beautifully done.
