- As you know, the era of Wii is coming to a close with the shutdown of all the major Wii channels that go online outside Wii Shop channel on June 27th 2013. Because of this I thought I do a series of videos that show off all the channels in their current state before the day these channels start to go offline as a farewell of sorts.
I don't go over many videos due to many of them being readily available via the internet and youtube, and as you can see, the channel has not been updated since My 17th making it the very last update for the Nintendo Channel on Wii. I will somewhat miss this channel do to the novelty features it offered like DS Download service and its somewhat cheesy nintendo week. It truly is the end of an era.

The background music of the wii is really freaky to me I just remember sitting and listening to it for hours in my basement all alone wishing I had someone to hang out with. Then going into the calendar and skipping ahead to the years 2050 and 2060 and thinking dang this is when I'm gonna be old.

I know there's more important stuff than the weather channel, But anytime my family was out visiting a place, like let's say Tennessee, and I was in Sacramento. I would always see what the weather was like there.

Maybe that's why youtube is recommending Wii videos to everyone - The Wii is 10 years old. Maybe it's cause I'm young but it kinda makes me sad when consoles go out of commission before their 10th birthday. Hell the PS2 lasted for about 14 years before they gave up on it

This was 2 years ago?.... I remember coming home from the hell that was Grade 2, eating Pizza pops, and watching Nintendo Week after voting on some dumb question on everybody votes, then playing Red Steel 2 or NFS ProStreet as the sun set over Fort McMurray and my dad came home from work. Saturday or Sunday was movie night, as my dad, then 37, fiddled around with the Wii controller to attempt to watch some Indian movie on Netlfix. Ah..... the intense memories.... farewell Wii, I thank you for all you gave me.

I remember coming home from school when I was 13 to watch videos on Nintendo channel, now I'm 19 and sob every time I think of the memories this app gave my childhood. RIP Nintendo Channel you will be missed. :(

Holy crap this brings back memories. Being a millennial, born at just the right time to have the mental capacity to enjoy the Wii while still being young, it was one of the best things that happened in my life on my 4th Christmas! I remember getting it like it was yesterday, and it came with Wii Sports. I still have the same wii I had almost 10 years ago... even with a broken disc slot. Thank you for making this video.

Never forget all the memories, fun, and fulfillment the revolutionary, online gaming Wii gave us for 7 years. If only the Wii U hadn't come out, the Wii could still have been the best selling in Nintendo. My personal favorite was Mario Kart Wii online, I will miss it forever.

I remember I got my Wii from my uncle because my dad wouldn't buy me one. I was only like 8 and I played it litterly all day two days in a row. That Christmas I didn't do anything but play Mario Kart. Just thinking back on it makes me happy.

I only played the Wii and the DSi back then. When I heard that the channels were going to be shut down, I knew the era of the Wii would come to an end.

I still use my wii for gamecube games mostly and sometimes Wii games (since I am too lazy to keep plugging the wii sensor bar from my Wii and Wii U so much) and it's still great.

A cat that has a laptop you don't actually have to switch it though... just turn both consoles on. The cord doesn't transfer any data, the cord is for power only.

I remember too. I was happy on my Wii to download a DS demo and watch Nintendo week and then I got the message saying it was discontinued. I got really sad and then I checked the other channels and it said the same thing (except for internet channel, which still works as of October 2015).
