- Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, but only when Ian Mercer is on screen. All credit goes to Disney for the content, and I apologize in advance for the sometimes glitchy audio.

Such an underrated character. Ian Mercer was truly a terrifying villain despite being so human.
He’s more eviler than Davy Jones
him and Beckett are for me, more terrifying than Davey Jones or Calypso or every other supernatural villain simply because they're human yet so powerful and influential even for the longest time
I think the actor, David Schofield, was also this evil killer in From Hell, a 2001 Johnny Depp movie about Jack the Ripper. Jeezus he sure was terrifying...
@@Myfavoritecuties Davy is the best and tragic villain, Beckett and the EITC became the main villains. This construct is awesome.
@@Myfavoritecuties he's not evil really, he's doing his job
Haha his voice when he kills the captain and talks to swan
And the sudden change of tone when he says " its from you"
Kills me every time 😂
One reason why Mercer is another great side character.
0:32 it kind of sounds like he’s speaking in a foreign accent I don’t know where he’s from Ireland or Scotland I got killed before I could even see him die and he got ripped up 4:43
@@Brotherleoofchrist645 He's from Scotland
Underrated villain. Mercer is the perfect henchman, just as ruthless as his employer and completely loyal to Beckett and the EITC.
Where’s the lie?
God damn, I love him as a villain.. and his death gave me trauma. PERFECT
A fitting death for someone who murders innocents and holds a dead man's heart against his will to serve the Company.
@@TyrannoWright It wasn’t a bit cruel? At least shooting his victims were a quick death.
@@joaquinbarboza3223 , yes
“ Evening governor.. shame that.. he was carrying this.. it’s. Letter to the king.. it’s from you… “
The way he dies always terrified me
Funny fact about Ian Mercer, he marked Jack Sparrow with the P on his arm after Jack release a bunch of black people in Africa. he was one of the East India Company officers Elizabeth mentioned that Jack avoid to escape when they are on that island, and is the one who let Beckett know about there is way to controll legendary Davy Jones according to novel “The price of Freedom”
Wait what? I thought it was Beckett who did the honors and branded him with the P himself
The Novel is not canon
@@kylorensleftballsack6594 what is that novel?
@@LanaaAmor the price of freedom but it will cost you
I love his voice!
I’ve always thought David Schofield would be a good choice to play Darkseid with his menacing voice and face.
Governor: "What are you doing?! ELIZIBETH?!"
Mercer: "Where is she?"
Governor: "Who?"
Your speech skill has increased to 100.
He's my favorite character in the franchise. An incredible villain, just perfect.
His manerisms and eyes are acting as an actor them selves. Great actor .
Dude’s voice is incredible
I wonder if Mercer has a personal grudge against Pirates thus why he is completely loyal to the EITC; his face expressions when killing and commanding is like hidden anger and trauma
0:20 London moment
It'd be more accurate if the stabber was of South Asian or Afro-Carribean descent, though.
Guys intelligent, loyal, ruthless and as I've just seen pretty tough as he pulls a knife out his shoulder after shooting the chinese girl.
I never noticed he pulled it OUT of his shoulder, inalways thought he was wiping it there for some reason.
@@djgaben6187Same
I can see them bullying Davy Jones together
"lmao ok ok now call him back for literally no reason"
"lmaoooo ok... Davy come here pls?"
"WHAT is it this time'AH?!"
I always love him since I was a kid. Beckett and him made an awesome team.
When Norrington plops Davy Jones heart down, I never noticed mercer in that shot!
I think that shot of him doing a flailing dive off the deck of the Black Pearl is one of my favorite from Pirates, lol.
I would have to say, My favorite character of the Franchise !
I like how he’s trying to act like a badass and he’s afraid to get wet in the abyss. Lol
Not afraid to get wet... He was afraid to go into the maelstrom which was almost certain death.
“WE GIVE NO QUARTER!” *Sees Maelstrom* “ARE YOU MAD?!”
@@gracegiver4920 HA! You afraid to get wet??
He’s a classy badass
0:20 POV: You live in the UK and you just stepped out for some crisps
Guys an underrated villain and yours is an underrated comment
It'd be more accurate if the stabber was of South Asian or Afro-Carribean descent, though.
@@truth__hurts Don't forget the Near-Easterners and Slavs
I love how he fighs Barbossa
3:54 barbosa almost got him 🤣
He got the knees to the nuts
It’d be better death than the one he experienced lol
The Boba Fett of the Pirates cinematic universe.
Or The Bob from The 1989 Batman if you will.
Literally Bob from Batman
At no point do we hear the name Ian. We can only verify his last name, Mercer.
There are sources outside of the movie that are official, you know
Even though Davy Jones neglected the duties of the eternal position he was given and tried to lock away the goddess of the sea, some of the things he does are incredibly necessary in the movies 💀
The Boba Fett of Pirates
I'd say that would be Maccus the Hammerhead guy
So underrated
He deserves more recognition, I think.
i like the part when it go BANG(:
The most underrated character in the franchise, but so cool😮💨
For years I mistaken the actor playing Mercer for the actor that played the villain's assassin in Lethal Weapon 2 the one Riggs kept calling Adolf. It's not him. But he talks similar to that guy.
He looks like him, too.
He plays a bishop in a viking show called the last kingdom
Why did he have to stab that guy? He was just a messenger, and is sending a letter to the king REALLY a crime? That guy didn't deserve that at all!
It's a loose end, knowing the truth of that was really happening. He couldn't risk that knowledge being spread.
He obviously never heard the saying "don't kill the messenger "
Evenin', govna.
Shame, that.
I like how he talks more cheerfully and politely in DMC then is no nonsense all evil with his voice in AWE. the part where Barbossa kicks him in the crotch is great
Mercer fully deserved his fate
2:09 he been asking questions about the heart 😂😂 his voice
Am i the only one who thinks hes attractive!?
Totally not just you. (2)
Another Story: Shuriki had help of invading Avalor. A bounty hunter named Ian Mercer led Shuriki to Avalor by giving her the location. The East India Trading Company secretly betrayed England and sided with Shuriki as well without alerting his majesty the king. When Shuriki was overthrown, Merced was outraged and was threatening to put bounties on Elena, Sofia, and their families. They could’ve been goners if it wasn’t for the bravery of Jack Sparrow and the pirate lords.
4:27 Is it wrong I found this part funny?
no i found it funny too lmao
what is he even saying
@@GMA20494 lol, good to know ^^
he says 'main battery at the ready'.
Best part was the end where Davy Jones put him in his place as a second rate nobody
It wasn't that he was second rate, Mercer was a VERY good lieutenant to Beckett. It was just that the power dynamics had shifted at the moment and Jones had an opportunity to free himself from Beckett and kill Mercer in the chaos.
@@sypher4912 I totally agree with you.
1:50 I wanna see someone make a meme out of this, where instead of that Asian lady its an anime girl and he just shoots her.
Stealth 100
Oh my
2:05 deleted scene right?
Nope
The POTC Tommy DeVito.
