That is some hard work but once you start finding them you have a real treasure! I saw that Gypsy had the right idea of getting in the shade in a dug out spot, the ground was cooler for her too! She is a genius!
There's a little crusty top to the dirt here. After that the digging is super easy. I just don't think that digging in the loose dirt is the best way to find good material. I need to find the layer that has the geodes, but I need that layer to be within a foot or three from the surface.
Just watching this now…wow such hard work to find anything… I loved how you looked after Gypsy first before yourself…it speaks volumes about you…glad I found your channel…
That first hole you dug wasn't a total waste as it served a nice little shady den for poopers.. I don't know a lot about rocks yet, I've always liked looking at them and bugs and birds and plants.. but I'm learning little by little thanks to you. I enjoyed the footage.
That is good to know all the geodes are almost gone from all the collecting digging closer to the North Mt seem like a good spot. I have been there 4 times was like treasure Island in 2003.
I think there is plenty of collectible material laying about this site. I guess my main goal in this video was to show that digging around in the loose dirt in the pits was not very effective. It was something that I had not tried before. Thanks for watching and commenting! :D
Could just be they’re to deep or to many people have been there.unfortunately when people are allowed to do digs like this they usually take advantage of it.
I believe there are plenty of geode rocks out there. Digging through the loose dirt is not the way to find them though. I just wanted to see for myself.

In the past I have often needed to have 2 digging holes side by side. One for Gypsy to lay in, and one for me to dig. :D

@@camplapidary There is a geode the size of a car if they have no dug it out already in the pit , looks like it might be buried or taken.
