That was amazing! From a guitarists perspective, I have such an incredible amount of respect for drummers being able to do so much at once. You should definitely consider more RoS covers mate.
For not practicing much at all on this song I still think you nailed it. I love watching your videos, especially when you add the intense bass drops haha
I know man, it's something different haha. But just for my personal opinion, I think that the overproduced shit RoS does fits their music kind of better than the sound of this video. I like real drum sounds way more but just for Technical Deathcore (or whatever the hell you want to call them) the triggered, almost el3ctronic sound fits better imo
KholmDrums ok thanks for the reply, keep on doing what you do best! im on my 2nd year so far and want to be able to play this stuff by the 4th but idk if ill have the proper setup for it tho
the toughest part for real was at 3:45, since i had no ide how to play it, just improvising, and that was a bit tough, the rest was no problem for real! :)
Hey man now that you have Axis pedals, you should try to learn maybe like heel-toe technique! :) I've been using HT with my DW5000's, but I've been itching to get axis pedals
Hey man! I know this video is super old, but it's amazing. Newer drummer here looking to start recording some of my play through. Any idea what you used to record this in this video and how much? Were there overhead mics or just camera mic? How did you get a trigger in the mix, if there's one at all? Thanks so much.
Killer video man! I have to ask, Did you find a difficult transition into the Axis pedals? I have the exact same pair, have been playing with them for a while, but I have to admit I'm not 100% happy with them.. The power isn't there and I find it hard to catch grooves like I did on chain driven pedals. Any thoughts or suggestions my friend?! Thanks :)
+IntoTheEternity Hi man! With my first pair i did! Going from a heavy powerfull pedal like the DW 3000 to the Axis was hard, took around 3-4 month until i got some good controll with them, however did i had in mind that the Axis is one of the best thing you could get. So when i realized that i played bad with my new Axis did i just think that "i" was the one who was just bad at first, however when i changed from the short to the longboard was i extreamly happy! It take some time to get used to them! give them a try and test out some different settings! my first pair did i bought from a guy, so they was not in the best condition either... The new one i got was much better also! So it depends also on that! :)
Very nice technique, hope you do some Hiroshima Will Burn tunes some day! :) Hey I read in the description box that the pedals you were using for this cover are new, how you feel the longboards? Are they better than traditional, short board chain tansmission pedals for fast stuff or is just a matter of habits? Anyway, subscribed (Y)
+Alessandro Murtas Have been using the Axis Longboards for almost one year now! It is a really sick pedal, but just like my old Axis, did it take some time to fine the right settings for my playing. the Direct link will help you play faster, because if you have a chain and play fast so will the chain not "bend" or what i shoul say... That will slow down some fast playing. I also realised that the longbords work much better for me since i use swiwel sometimes and i do that really far back on the pedal, so that is good! So i really think that it is a sick pedal!
KholmDrums I was messing with you man. This song is great, and other than the echo I can't complain about the sound. You look like you may be too tall for your snare, but if its comfortable, by all means, keep it up!
Horatio Trismegistus ohh hahaha well how should i know what you mean! :) I like to have the snare that way! I just got an Joey snare that is a bit more deep then the one i have in this video, so it's a bit higher now! (since i can't lower my snare stand anymore! :)
God damn you've improved so much bro from your first videos! Good fucking job man, this was seriously good. You're kit is sexy as hell too :p, makes mine a little jelly....
Thanks a lot man, nice to read that! Since i love to play drums do i put a lot of money on it! I'm slowely saving up money for better cymbals such as a new *crash *China for my left side (a bigger one then my 14 i have now).. *12" china in the middle *ride *hihat *splash I have other hobbys also, so that's why it take time to aford this kind of stuff for my drums! Have been working on my kit for like 3-4 years now!
KholmDrums Ya, I have put a lot into my kit over the years too man, so I feel your pain. I play on a older PDP X-7, I got it when they were just coming out with them, and a Pork-Pie Little Squealer for a snare. Anyways, keep improving man and never quiet there are too many guitarists in the world, haha, we needa stay united as drummers ;)
BurnThePope0514 i was pointing on my 18" Xs20 crash! But i'm not sure if i should go really big and play with 18 and 19 crash, instead of 16 and 18" that i have now! But i do like my AAX so we will se!
KholmDrums Oh I feel you on the bigger crashes, I bought the cymbal pack that came with the Aaxs and Xs20 hats and ride, but I already had a AA raw bell ride (fantastic ride for the money) and just stuck with that. I didn't like the tiny bell on the Xs20 medium ride.. I do miss having two 18's for crashs, but idk, there is something about that 16in AAX that I am rather fond of!
+KholmDrums cant fuckin get over the double bass speed like this... Dunno how to practice to get this speed... How long did upractice to get speed like this?
how do they do their gravity blasts? I mean being a drummer not trained classically I would like to know the technique.. is it just rolling it while doing a blastbeat? or rolling while also doing a twice the speed snare hit?
I didn't remember where i learned it, you kind of hold the stick a bit more from the back of the middle (you can see how i hold it, and you are supposed to just lift up and down above the rim (as you can see is my hand like some centimeters from the rim), then you make a hit when you press down the stick, and one hit when you "take up" the stick! i can say that it's not at all like a blastbeat, it's is a other sort of technique! i'm pretty sure you can find a tutorials on youtube!
You basically lay down the stick on the rim on, well maybe between half length and 3/4 of the lenght (at least I do it somewhere there), and just pull it up rather loosely, so the tip falls on the snare head, then push it down to hit again and angle the stick tip up (cause obviously you're pushing it down, so the tip raises), then repeat. When you trained the motion, you can concentrate on getting more power and not just, as I described it, let the stick fall, but you'll learn to continously hold the stick tight while doing this. Hope it helped :)
I have such a hard time with them too! And I am gettimg tired of the comments on Kitchers videos, there are literally kids that say "I don't even play and I can do that" or "You're a idiot I am a guitarist and I can". I just sit here, laughing thinking I've been playing for five years and I have a hard time, no way can people who dontw play do them, and they will try to argue with me and call me a idiot.
BurnThePope0514 I don't play with proffesional training, I've self learned drums, but either way I don't have an easy time with it. I was so confused, I thought they were doing some kind of drum roll.
Congratulations on the cover friend, I am a big fan of this band, still want to do many covers them, you have the Axis Longboard? is a great pedal, I have a Trick Bigfoot, both are exceptional, how long will you play? hugs :)
In this video did i just got my Axis longboards so i was not that used to them yet. I have been playing with the Axis Shortboards for about 2-3 years before the Longboards! The Trick pedal is awesome, i have tried it one time, so much technique in just a pedal hahaha! I started to play drums for 4 years ago and i hope i will play forever!
very good man, you're only focused on playing extreme metal? arrived to study other lines? I'm playing only will one years yet, but I intend to play my whole life, I am fanatic blast beat, double bass and many other metal things, hugs
i know, that was a old china that i bought from a guy, but it cracked and i bought a new one, but it did not sound the same... so now i have a Sabian holy china!
+Achilleas Kokkinos That's true, I can do some heel toe with both feet also! But just for shorts hits like 4-5! It just feels natural for me! : )Sorry for late answer buddy!
KholmDrums i figured axis pedals were better, you just have to set them to your own personal settings, buy certain parts to match your playing style. :p
Sweeeet man, yeah the Axis is great! But i think they get to light with the beaters you have hehe... Have seen you doing a Issues cover! Stingray affliction if i remembered right?... :)
These drums sound way too... real
+Dethkok 100% buddy!
U NEED TO CUT IIIIIIIIIIIT
What do you mean?
Dethkok stfu
Coming back to this after a few years.... now I understand how badass those fills really are lol
That was amazing! From a guitarists perspective, I have such an incredible amount of respect for drummers being able to do so much at once. You should definitely consider more RoS covers mate.
+Cameron Smith Hello man! Sorry for a late answer! But i'm really glad to hear that, we will see about that, those songs are pretty hard hehe!

5:10... yeah i feel that movement lmaooo sometimes something just hits so hard you gotta bob like that.
0:19-0:24 Gravity blast so heavy it’s pulling him to the snare
Be careful while using that technique kids..
What is the conversion from BPM to gravity? 300bpm=10g? Lol
i was just at guitar center today jammin on those pedals in black, they are so damn nice!
I know, they are amazing!
Aw yaaaa! I like that effect you put on the breakdown.

4:21 I dunno why but this part reminded me almost all of my childhood memories and even project x :D

Adam Björk As soon as i heard that part all i saw in my mind was me playing football, me finally doing a pull up, goddamm man so much in 1 riff
Hahah awesome!
Superhuman powers,this!
For not practicing much at all on this song I still think you nailed it. I love watching your videos, especially when you add the intense bass drops haha
Thanks man! Check out my Breakdown of Sanity cover of Prologue + story of a stranger! That one got some intesne bass drop action!
KholmDrums will do sir :)
It's nice to hear a RoS song with a drumkit that sounds real not the overproduced monstruosity they use on studio
Yeah right?! ;)
MovieCritics ALIENCORE!!!!!!!👽👽👽

This is a good cover from a good band, your feet are amazing. May i ask how you get your feet astonishingly fast? or practices that you do
it just comes with the years, i do not sit with a metronome and practise or so! Also have fun and don't stress while practising!
KholmDrums
ok thanks for the reply, keep on doing what you do best! im on my 2nd year so far and want to be able to play this stuff by the 4th but idk if ill have the proper setup for it tho
6Marilyn6Manson6 no worry for what setup you have, atleast 1 crash, 1 china and 3 toms then you're fine! Keep on rocking you to man :)
потрясающе!
Great job man, really tough song!
the toughest part for real was at 3:45, since i had no ide how to play it, just improvising, and that was a bit tough, the rest was no problem for real! :)

Hey man now that you have Axis pedals, you should try to learn maybe like heel-toe technique! :) I've been using HT with my DW5000's, but I've been itching to get axis pedals
i use heel toe when i play short and fast patterns!
good work man
Thanks man!
I fucking love this, you're a god man!!!
+Jacob Jimenez Thaaanks maaan!!
Those shorts are nice bro
+Ezra Rodriguez Great when you play drums!
hey man!great drum cover, which double pedal are you using?
Hey man! I know this video is super old, but it's amazing. Newer drummer here looking to start recording some of my play through. Any idea what you used to record this in this video and how much? Were there overhead mics or just camera mic? How did you get a trigger in the mix, if there's one at all? Thanks so much.
that was fucking sick man I'll make sure to check out your other shit
+trey murphy Thanks a ton man, really glad to hear that!!
+KholmDrums np man you should check on some of the stuff I do I do a lot of requests and some original
Holy shit man! That's awesome! If you don't mond me asking, do you have your bass drum beaters really low, or is that the camera angle?
Petethedrummist Thanks maan! They are low, but the angle makes it look even lower then what it actually is heheh!
Fuckin killer job dude, I wish I could keep up like you. Hopefully someday haha
+Curtis Rowe Just practise and you will buddy!!
Killer video man! I have to ask, Did you find a difficult transition into the Axis pedals? +KholmDrums However man! i'm glad you liked the video! :)
Pedals? Great cover!
Read description... Thanks!
nice real sound . . how did you get that ??
camera mic ?
Ryan Adi I used a Zoom H1 mic for this video!
Very nice technique, hope you do some Hiroshima Will Burn tunes some day! :) Hey I read in the description box that the pedals you were using for this cover are new, how you feel the longboards? and also thanks man!
KholmDrums I'll keep your impressions in mind when changing my old Tama double pedal. Thank you dude :)
before you buy a new pedal, test it out first man! We all have our own taste for pedals!
4:57 and on is not the actual snare pattern but I don't blame you it's very complicated. Great cover.
Tbh was I not as picky 8 years back, feel free to check out my recent videos, thanks!
@Rkg Dallas How much bpm faster should it be then?
Over 9000
evan wallace in 8th 16th 32th?
In over 9000nths
thirty-seconthhs lol
Nice!
Although the 33rd degree lug on your North-westernmost tom is 4* too tight.
Other than that, I can't complain.
wait, what do you mean?
KholmDrums I was messing with you man.
This song is great, and other than the echo
I can't complain about the sound.
KholmDrums I think he's just messing with you man ^^
God damn you've improved so much bro from your first videos! Good fucking job man, this was seriously good. You're kit is sexy as hell too :p, makes mine a little jelly....
Thanks a lot man, nice to read that! Since i love to play drums do i put a lot of money on it! I'm slowely saving up money for better cymbals such as a new

I have other hobbys also, so that's why it take time to aford this kind of stuff for my drums! Have been working on my kit for like 3-4 years now!

Anyways, keep improving man and never quiet there are too many guitarists in the world, haha, we needa stay united as drummers ;)
KholmDrums You're going to replace your AAX's (crash)? I love mine haha.
BurnThePope0514 i was pointing on my 18" Xs20 crash! But i'm not sure if i should go really big and play with 18 and 19 crash, instead of 16 and 18" that i have now! But i do like my AAX so we will se!

I didn't like the tiny bell on the Xs20 medium ride.. I do miss having two 18's for crashs, but idk, there is something about that 16in AAX that I am rather fond of!
I thought about starting to play drums but i think i'll just leave it to you lol
+Ass milk Hahah, go ahead, start and practise, you may do what i did in this cover in maybe 5 years? :)
Epic job :) (y)
JoeyThePhantom thnx man! :))
+KholmDrums cant fuckin get over the double bass speed like this... Dunno how to practice to get this speed... How long did upractice to get speed like this?
Hmm, i'm not sure, 2-3 years maybe? :) you'll get it fast if you have some motivation and practise alot!
Dude you're fuckin insane!

BurnThePope0514 I don't play with proffesional training, I've self learned drums, but either way I don't have an easy time with it. I was so confused, I thought they were doing some kind of drum roll.
What kind of china on the right ? Sounds awesome
it's a Zildjian oriental trash china 18" but the old one, they don't make them any more, to bad since it was my favourite china of all time!
awwww, whereas the sound is incredible
Congratulations on the cover friend, I am a big fan of this band, still want to do many covers them, you have the Axis Longboard? is a great pedal, I have a Trick Bigfoot, both are exceptional, how long will you play? hugs :)
In this video did i just got my Axis longboards so i was not that used to them yet. I have been playing with the Axis Shortboards for about 2-3 years before the Longboards! very good man, you're only focused on playing extreme metal? arrived to study other lines? I'm playing only will one years yet, but I intend to play my whole life, I am fanatic blast beat, double bass and many other metal things, hugs
KholmDrums
only 4 years of practice and you can play this? thats some crazy shit man, keep it up!
👽💥🌎
hey sorry totally new to drums, what type of cymbal is the first cymbal hit? at 0:04 and what brand etc>?
RaGinGAsUrA It's a China, Zildjian Oriental trash china 18"
KholmDrums its beautiful that what it is xD
i know, that was a old china that i bought from a guy, but it cracked and i bought a new one, but it did not sound the same... so now i have a Sabian holy china!
sound any good?
Love it! Check out my new videos and you will see, it's the one with holes in it!
you should cover thier song peeling arteries
Your neighbors must hate you with those acoustic drums
Yepp! That's why i got a new room/place for my drums, check out my more new covers!
Achilleas Kokkinos Well i'm kind of speciell hehe
KholmDrums are you using the same Headphones as Anup Sastry😂
In this video yes! Today am i using in ear monitors!
KholmDrums okay thx for the quick response:) btw i love your drumplay
Thank you so much!
how old are you!? that was fucking brilliant!
+Jonathan b. I was 17 back then! Now I'm 18! Thanks man!
in the right foot you use heel down and in the left one swivel and heel up? i cant understand to be honest!
+Achilleas Kokkinos That's true, I can do some heel toe with both feet also! But just for shorts hits like 4-5! It just feels natural for me! : )Sorry for late answer buddy!
+KholmDrums no problem man! thanks for answering though! my question has been answered! :)
+Achilleas Kokkinos I'm really trying to answer all comments, but sometimes do i really miss some of them... :/
KholmDrums i know man! comments are always coming so damn fast! :) :P anyway nice cover once again! keep it up man! ;)
Is it bad that you're the first deathcore drummer i've seen that uses axis pedals?
+sha-d paul well... Then you haven't seen many Deathcore drummers! Most of them use Axis buddy!
KholmDrums i thought they used mainly DW pedals.
hahaha oh now man, the DW pedals are pretty heavy, not that smooth and fast like the Axis
KholmDrums i figured axis pedals were better, you just have to set them to your own personal settings, buy certain parts to match your playing style. :p
+sha-d paul That's true, but it's the same with every pedal, if you have wrong settings, then would the pedal be shit! ;)
Was it hard for you to keep the tempo in this song?
+Michael Delong Not to much! Of course it was a hard song, but the tempo was not the hardest thing! :) Even though it ain't perfect!
Try covering their song Natural Selection
It's a great song but it is a pretty hard one on the drums!
My face exploded, i quit drumming, most of Rings of saturns songs are like drum solos...
hahaha yeah maybe ;)
Are you touring with a band?
+Jambi705 In April 7-15th!
Good luck bro. You have great skill, keep practicing and you will do great things 👊
+Jambi705 Thanks a ton man! Really glad to hear that!! I sure will haha!
Aroonnnnnnnnnnn
really fucking good dude! just get that foot speed up and it's perfect lol. ICan't play that fast lol
+jturner198925 Thaanks maan!
+KholmDrums no problem dude shit was ridiculous lol
Bass drum practice?
did not practice so much on the bass drum, i did just go for it!
yeah sometimes could slower tempos be hard too to controll!
Fuck. You're good.
heheh thanks! :)
admit it...you turned down the speed in the beginning cause you wanted to see that smooth stick catching trick
+Mannitherucus Nope, everything is in it's original tempo :)
Where's the sexy mustache of yours?😥😂
Have a guess haha
so great i found wall of china!!
That's sick man!
Damn good broseph. Find yourself a talented good group of guys and form a band. Seriously. You could do great things. Fuckin A man.. Fuckin A.
+Nick Bulavko Check out my band Bleeding utopia! Have some videos on this channel! :)
When someone say death metal doesn't take talent, show them this
*deathcore and Kinda stupid because this is technical deathcore
+Quils Of The Dead Aliencore!
+KholmDrums Aliencore is where the real deal is at
todo bien excepto necesita mas practicar el doble pedal? sinooo?
Skriv på Engelska fattar ju ingenting utav det du skriver!
Парень, ты реально крут!!!
Riddaren hvala bratte!
More RoS covers
+Diego Zanuff Yeah maybe one day!
Nice but try not to tense up when playing double bass, the more relaxed you are the faster you'll be able to play.
+Robert Bytum That's true, it's easy to do when it's fast and i have the camera recording! Have been a bit better on that while recording covers!
Diggin the blast beats. I also play Axis and loooove them! Mine are first gen. \m/ Got my sub! Check out my drum channel if ya get some time.
Sweeeet man, yeah the Axis is great! But i think they get to light with the beaters you have hehe... Have seen you doing a Issues cover! Stingray affliction if i remembered right?... :)
Yes, I did that one and it was taken down by YT... :( I replaced my beaters with my DW 7000 beaters. Much better beaters.
does not Dw have the same beaters for every of their pedals? i had them on my old Axis shortboards, did not work good for me haha
Luke Holland influence from 0:04 - 0:05 lol
I have done that in many videos haha, but propaly saw it from Luke first!
