I bought GHD Eclipse 7 years ago and it was one of my few best purchases EVER! My favorite feature is that it beeps to notify me that it is ready to use (of course other features win my heart too)
Now I’m looking to find for a suitable GHD for me as they don’t make Eclipse anymore, and I’m glad I watched this review :)
I thinks the platinum is a must for people with thick frizzy hair. Idk if it’s a must for someone with normal/thin hair. It’s amazing on thick hair, I haven’t tried the ghd but first time i tried platinum iron I was so happy

Thanks for the review it was really helpful. I have the the 2010s and when I checked them this morning they have scratches on the plates. Can’t complain as they have lasted me 13 years ❤
I have long thick hair that’s naturally curly and has frizz. So based on the new technology and size of the plate I think the platinums will be a better choice.
I already use a professional Parlux hairdryer and can’t fault it, but sometimes you want ultra smooth hair 😊

Yes I still have the original only the cord ripped so I gotta duct tape it but it still works and my hair is down to my back and it’s fast on my hair and I have the original max straightener as well, wider plates.
The original has better grip to get to the top of the roots
Great review as always. I think that for the better plate coating and heat sensor technology the platinum plus is worth the extra money. But you can’t go wrong with the GHD original either. GHD is just a rock solid brand all around. Personally, I really like the GHD glide. It’s a bit expensive but does the job very well.

I’ve had the original ghd for almost 10 years as well and it still works! I have fine straight hair with a little bit of frizz and I’ve always liked the smoothness and shininess it gives. I want to get a new straightener but I’m still debating if the platinum is worth it for me 😂

I bought the Platinum + two days ago as my GHD original straighteners started having some kind of internal fault (probably from all the times I dropped it 😅) my hair is naturally frizzy and curly so the Platinum + is PERFECT for my hair worth the extra expense in my opinion 😁

Have them both and OG will never die! To me the platinum feels a bit hotter probably the heat distribution tho... and platinum glides through better... otherwise they are really the same to me

My wife's S8T262's have started to give trouble.
They are three weeks out of warranty.
She paid £180 for these three years ago and believed that they would last at least 5/6 years.
She will not be buying ghd's again as she says they are now not worth it.

My GHD golds have just stopped working so I’m here after purchasing the Platinum+ but the GHD gold is an amazing straightener, I used them multiple times per day a lot of the time for over 8 years and they’re brilliant. My hair never got stuck in the plates of the GHD gold, such a good straightener I was so sad when they stopped working last week 😢 the only reason I’m going for the Platinum+ is I find they’ll work better for my thick hair, the Gold is a bit like an upgraded original, they heat up very fast and hold the heat really well ❤
I find the original is far more sleek and close to the face as is no volume compared to the platinum + and easier to get close to the roots. It’s lighter not as bulky and just my faaaave! And hotter in my opinion. My hair is thick long frizzy so yes love it

The original one I have and love but the wire broke but it still works I’m just worried it’ll break. It’s slimmer which I like and easy to get close to roots

I never used to straighten my curly ass fuck hair but lately I’ve become a mum and a life was strange lmao and I decided to buy an strainer and I just went all the way for GHD platinum plus 😂 I can’t say if it’s better than the others because I hadn’t none but it’s great 😌 i love it 🤍🙏🏾
