On the cutting surface and blades, I put a smear of WD-40 after each shave. It slows down the oxidization, and keeps the blades a little sharper.
If the residue is left on the blades they oxidize. And the WD-40 slows that right down.

With a device like this it is better to make small circular movements instead of straight movements. Definitely worth a try to see if this gives you a closer shave.

No, straight movements better and foil razer is better because of that.

Nice shave Ken. The razor looks beautiful. Sounds like a good razor for travel when you don't have time for a DE razor shave. Have a good weekend and hope you can stay safe from the storm. 👍🌩

Thanks for trying out the electric razors, too, Ken. I use my Norelco between DE shaves. I've had the same Norelco for 17 years, replaced the heads twice but I keep my eye out for a good replacement if it dies on me.

So what did it for me was replacing either blades and heads or the cutter and foil on electric razors over the years was the cost - for parts are almost what a new razor costs (unless it's one with a lot of features, etc.) My Remington foil shaver is on the "fritz" now - probably the connection between the switch and battery which I've fixed once years ago. I use a DE safety razor mostly but shave my head with an electric or in the shower with a cartridge (gasp!).
I'll look at this razor and give it a go....

Excellent shave Ken and that razor really pops too. My dad had the Norelco lift & cut system which was really good for him. I never could take to electric razors especilly in my neck area. It got chewed up quite a bit.

I just recently tried that Lectric Shave for my head shaves, and although I'm not entirely a fan of the scent of the stuff, I love the extra bit of glide it gives my shaver and the added softness it leaves on my scalp. Thanks for the heads-up! (Pun intended 😅)

Honestly. Don't care what kind of razor you review. It is always a fun and honest shave with you. So keep up the great work! Cheers

Great shave. I bought two new postshave products, namely the Edge Post Shave Lotion and the AV Musk as the other Musk bottle is running out. I’ll put them into use in the future. Have a good one!

I do have a norelco rotary razor, the shave it provides is actually very close, but it always leaves hairs on some spots and I have to touch up with the DE, which is quite annoying honestly. Also leaves the bottom of my neck weirdly red as if I was allergic to the blades... Shaved with it for a while, it's alright for a quick one, but definitely far from the best option... Cheers!

Thank you for the instructional video. My sons father passed away and his brother bought this for my son's 31st birthday. He is also autistic. I know zip about electric razors. Very helpful as a mom. Do we just buy a new one when rhe blades get dull? I know you said self sharpening, but how is that even possible?

I am not Ken, but I would just buy replacement blades, if motor is still working. For the Sejoy, jury is out on if they have replacements 2 years from now, but they probably will. On ebay there are a lot of blades for Braun, Philips knockoffs from China. I bought this for travel, as it charges up with USB C, and I dont need to pack a separate charger like my old Philips requires.

Nice positive review Ken. Rotary electric shavers are very convenient and easy on the skin in my experience. It is much more effective to move them over the skin in small circles to erase the bristles... It also takes a while for the skin to adapt to electric versus wet shaving. I like to do both but my skin is a bit confused by the mixing of techniques! :-)

Couldn't get used to the electric trimmer. Neither bar, nor spinner. I always ended with visible clumps of twisted hair? I'll stick with my Nacet?

    • @10floz30minutes
      @10floz30minutes ปีที่แล้ว

Other people may also find the trimmer feature that comes on an electric razor to not be very good. A REAL trimmer or clipper seems to be better. The real ones let you use a better angle against the hair or the skin. Most of the trimmers on electric razors do not let you do that.

If the razor is packed with a usb cable, did it at least come with an adapter with normal prongs to plug into the wall outlet? ___________________ Okay later in the video you answered. Not the best way to prepare a razor package. Need all the parts to be able to plug into the wall outlet. You had the needed adapter already from some other appliance. (or device).
