Good advice. I'll often ask students to grip my forearm just above the wrist as tightly as they grip their racket. The grip of recreational players is almost invariably too tight. As they grip my forearm I tell them to loosen their grip until they have approximately what I judge to be the 3 or 4 grip tension that you recommend. This gives them a feel for how tightly they should be gripping the racket.
Hi Florian...can you try this tip next time and give me your feedback?...I actually do the opposite now where I grip at 4 or slighter tighter than your optimal personal grip pressure and then release the tension thru the stroke...for me, I my grip tension was rising too much especially on multi ball rallies on the forward swing from the 3 or 4 tension at backswing. I actually do this on my serve too...a little tighter before contact then release it thru the serve...give it a shot with your team and would love to hear your thoughts ...thanks

It’s very strange you put this up today as it’s a massive revelation I just had. Just moved me from intermediate to advanced this.

So great..!!! Thank you for this..:) :) :)....
So from 1-10 what is the level at contact point?
Good tip - is the loose grip regardless if you need to go cross court or a bit more angle?
yes, it is!
the wrist is loose the grip is normal
just grip hard enough so that the racket dont move ezy
