Hey Antony, thanks for commenting. The setup isn't quite complex as you might think:
1.Using the geometry as a solid object source, emitting only fuel (and temperature), I generated velocity and fuel data from a low resolution FumeFX simulation. Also used wind and FFX gravity vector to direct the fluid.
    2. PFlow setup with the geometry as Position Object and particles driven via FumeFX Follow, based on fire parameters set in FumeFX Test.

Cheers! It's my favourite of the three too

    Third clip is really cool!

    3. Cached then rendered with Krakatoa. This particular clip, 230 frames long, took < 25 mins to render with ~5million particles in each frame.

I'd be really interested to know how complex setting up the 3rd of these clips was.
And how long are you render times?

I must know: How long did it took you to make each of these simulations?

Low res FumeFX SIM + particle advection/caching and rendering, about 3 hours.

why is it at 720p not 1080 or 4k resolution? thanks

I need to do something very similar to the second of the examples. The one that has a vortex with particles that sparkle in it. That is really what I was looking for but I don't know particle systems well enough yet to recreate it. In settings, tips, or any other help would be really a really huge help. Thanks.

Jordan Grosz This was done using 3DS Max's vortex spacewarp, added to the FumeFX simulation, and the FumeFX gravity vector. The sparkles were done in After Effects using the Optical Flares plug-in based on the brightness values of the render sequence.
It's probably best to start playing around with and learning Max's PFlow system. You can achieve the same basic result using PFlow, you'll just need a high enough particle count.
