    Hello! The question is about FumeFX and VrayPhysicalCamera (simulation of smoke in 3ds Max). If it's possible waiste your time. Why is the scene becoming bright when we use camera of Vray? How to avoid it? Thanks!

    • @MMPowar1
      @MMPowar1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry but I'm not really sure how to solve that issue since I've only ever used FumeFX with Default Scanline renderer.

    • @MMPowar1
      @MMPowar1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Алексей Коласов I do believe Vray cameras have some sort of exposure control in their settings that might fix your problem.

    That looks really nice and smooth. Are those primary particles with a short life time ("head"), and only secondary particles with long life time? What physics settings was that? No matter what I do, I can't get turbulance field to behave like that... Also, secondary particles were cloudlets? Big up, man! Keep on great work

    • @MMPowar1
      @MMPowar1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +raptorekpl The head and the tail are two different Particular elements but both the emitter of the head and tail are driven by the amplitude of the audio. All sphere type particles. The Physics settings for the tail are default except: Wind: Wind X=-100 Turbulence: AffectPos=250; FadeInTime=1.8; OctaveMult=0.5; EvolSpeed=50 And the smoothness of the tail was achieved using 300,000 particles/sec and a CC Vector Blur filter - Direction Fading Hope this helps

    • @raptorekpl
      @raptorekpl 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mithun Powar It does! Thank You VERY much! It turned out that my turbulance field and other tail settings were fine, vector blur with directional type was the answer to my puzzle :) You saved me some long hours of figuring that out. Thank! :)

    Nice dude.I just can't get my explosions to look like that.I must be doing something wrong !

    • @yehbe
      @yehbe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dawie Van Emmenes His explosions seems to have that thing where first the smoke comes out, then the fire quickly catches up and slowly burns away. Try that out? I think it's something with the burn rate.

    • @MMPowar1
      @MMPowar1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dawie Van Emmenes Sorry for not replying. Yehbe is right. The FFXSrc is emitting smoke along with fire and the burn rate is also animated. Apart from that, the source object itself is irregularly shaped. I basically took a hemisphere and extruded some of the faces and then applied a noise modifier to the whole object. This way I could "shape" the explosion as I wanted. If you slow the video down and look at the beginning of the explosion at 0:25 you can see how the explosion becomes shaped by the source object. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other questions.

    I need to do something very similar to the second of the examples. The one that has a vortex with particles that sparkle in it. That is really what I was looking for but I don't know particle systems well enough yet to recreate it. In settings, tips, or any other help would be really a really huge help. Thanks.

    • @MMPowar1
      @MMPowar1 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jordan Grosz This was done using 3DS Max's vortex spacewarp, added to the FumeFX simulation, and the FumeFX gravity vector. The sparkles were done in After Effects using the Optical Flares plug-in based on the brightness values of the render sequence. It's probably best to start playing around with and learning Max's PFlow system. You can achieve the same basic result using PFlow, you'll just need a high enough particle count.

    3. Cached then rendered with Krakatoa. This particular clip, 230 frames long, took < 25 mins to render with ~5million particles in each frame.

  • @MMPowar1
    @MMPowar1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Antony, thanks for commenting. The setup isn't quite complex as you might think: 1.Using the geometry as a solid object source, emitting only fuel (and temperature), I generated velocity and fuel data from a low resolution FumeFX simulation. Also used wind and FFX gravity vector to direct the fluid. 2. PFlow setup with the geometry as Position Object and particles driven via FumeFX Follow, based on fire parameters set in FumeFX Test.

  • @abktestingtesting

    I'd be really interested to know how complex setting up the 3rd of these clips was. And how long are you render times?

    Can't remember exactly, but the final voxel count was ~250 million, so close to a 14GB sim at the final frame.
