Hahaha! OMG! That's my Tenkara Rod!!! I'm totally serious. I was fishing there below the Hoover camps in September 2019. I'm pretty sure it fell out of my backpack after snagging a tree. I looked for that thing for an hour after I noticed it missing. Cannot believe it still had the Mr. Rapidan on it. I assume it is long gone 4 years later. But, wow!
I’ve only fished the Rapidan once almost 30 years ago. This was my first serious fly fishing adveenture. I must caught about 10 trout, all on Mr. Rapidan dries. I’ve been back to the park a few times and did well but never made it back to the Rapidan. The crowds kept me away. It seemed like the first one on the water would catch fish and the rest were spooked for the rest of the day.
Thanks for the video. My wife and I have hiked in from the Skyline to the Rapidan Camp. I have wondered about starting down stream from the camp and fishing back up to the camp. It looks like that is what you did, correct? Can you share more on the access point where you parked? Thanks in advance.
Hey guys awesome I like your stuff. Quick question about the access road. What was the condition like? It's been a pretty dry year so I imagine it hasn't had any real heavy blowouts since you went.
It's not in the best condition but no problem as long as you go somewhat slow. If you have a SUV you'll be ok, also seen some sedans back in there as well.
Very nice - great coverage and respect for that Park - one question, why not leave the fish in the water - just twist the barbless? Why must each be posed and handled? Enjoy...

I love the drone shots of the rapidan. Have never seen it from that point of view
