Damn. Oasis fan since 94 but only just discovered this. As good as the Liam version imo, and maybe in some ways even better. I saw them live twice, in 2000 and 2002. Liam is clearly the better singer but some songs Noel is toe to toe with him. This is one of them.

This is the REAL song. I mean, Noel writes everything. Then he hands over the lyrics to Liam. Then Liam watches and listens to Noel sing it the way he wants it to be played. Liam was just a voice. Noel did EVERYTHING.

I agree with you. I first fell in love with Oasis on BOTH Champagne Supernova and Don't Look Back In Anger which was sung by Liam and Noel respectively, it doesn't matter who sings among them, It still is the Oasis I knew and loved.
You can tell that this is an odd vocal range for Noel on this one. He’s very pitchy in some spots and his voice is shaking, which is rare for him. Him and Liam have surprisingly different ranges.
It’s funny but now you’ve mentioned it you can’t unhear it! Truth be told Liam would have had nearly 6 years of singing behind him at this time so his vocal range and chords would have been in extremely good shape for the longer and higher parts! This is a very hard to sing for a rookie, particularly for the longer bits!!

Liam used to be dead on all the time until he started losing his voice due to the wear and tear of drugs and alcohol and that throat disease. He's since mostly gained it back, but damn... The two used to be neck and neck as quality singers go.
any one who knows anything about oasis knows this album was recorded without guigsy and bonehead and the bass parts in this choon were played by noel and added later..:)

I very rarely ever actually have a definite opinion over which one has a better approach to a song. Usually it's just two different types of "awesome." But Liam's just got that great growl and swagger for this one. Needless to say, it's cool to hear this other version though.
well...technically, Tony, Bonehead and Guigsy formed the band and brought Liam in on vocals, then brought Noel in after many very bad performances, and Noel made the band what they were and still are in the hearts of the fans

personally I think this is better than the final version...I always think Noel's singing express more than Liam's and somehow Liam's voice makes every song sound just the same to me...anyway it's just my opinion
@ Josh Kehoe.... he is saying "click with the bass"; in a recording process, musicians are sometimes cued as to when to come in, but I believe there was a recording error during the initial recording of this track, where Noel cueing where he wanted the click track (metronome guide to help the drummer keep in time) and bass to come in was accidentally recorded. It sounded cool, so they kept it in. Peace.
