- Here are all the FMV cinematics from Syphon Filter, as well as a few in-game cutscenes as well.
This was one of my favourite video games as a teenager, and it surprisingly holds up pretty well today.
I had no idea at the time, but this game had quite a few similarities to Metal Gear Solid. Both had a gruff-voiced antagonist, a virus that could wipe out specific individuals, a snowy battle on top of a command tower, among other things... it definitely didn't have the same calibre of voice acting, however.
It was still fun to play through this game for the past few weeks, and still oh-so satisfying to get head shots! - เกม

No. A remake is a redoing, changing gameplay graphics. A remaster is upscaling the graphics. The person who commented wanted a remaster not a remake.

Basically this is the most awesome, yet unappreciated game of the 90s. Besides Parasite Eve, of course.

Funny because both are probably the games I remember the most on PS1.
But PE was easy ( minus the chrysler building ). But still a good game for that time. I just regret how they turned the story with 3th Birthday. ^^;

Gabriel Logan, the only operative who could jump off a helicopter 40 feet in the air and land soft on his feet.
We can talk of the angle of the helicopter too in the cutscenes, I feel like they should fall of that helicopter. X3

Man that 989 Studios screen hit me all the way back to my 10th birthday. To me seeing was like a kid felt watching his fav VR game today.

Girdeux is one of the best villain's the Syphon Filter games have ever had. Despite his minor role, he left an impression for sure.

I appreciated the little easter egg in SF2 of finding his burnt remains, a charred lump in a morgue, in the Agency Biolabs level. It unlocks a location for multiplayer mode.

How does the game make sense now because of a new strain of a flu? It made sense way before that, with Anthrax being around, with VX being around, or the russian Novichok.
@FreeBirb It has been found in bats years ago, in 99% similarity. Of course it could have escaped from a lab, but definitely not on purpose, or as a weapon, unless you want to kill off the old and sick people.
But then again, they still try to save them and others, which costs a lot of money. It disrupts a lot of things, economy suffers too. Not worth it. If they wanted to kill them off, they could do it cheaper and with far less buzz.

Feel so nostalgic about this game. Great and stressful game at the same time. Gameplay before Graphic, they sure do a good job. Oh, god I love Mara Aramov, her voice is sexy...

yea this game was a classic I mean come on this was way before splinter cell came along and they could bring this game back but they refuse not to and now days we don't have certain spy games that live up to the hype like this one did.
Three flaws I remember playing Syphon Filter: boxy characters, super-fast paced dialogue and limited checkpoints. Beyond that, the game was super fun.
you can't blame 989 studios with their character 3d designs. it was during the early Playstation era and 3d based games haven't mature on some game developers except from big time game publishers.
it was their release of syphon filter 3 that they did it properly in terms of cinematics.

The sequals are more fun to play in my opinion but this was definitely the start of a great series. The weaponry system and GUI was iconic, too bad it was removed in Omega Strain on PS2.

My hand was cramping up a bit during this playthrough, just because I was gripping the control pad harder than I needed to. It might have felt fine back in the day, but I'm glad analog sticks came around. hehe Definitely easier to handle, IMO.

Everyone who played this game loves it, I feel like along side Final Fantasy it's a top 3 franchise for playstation. The original trilogy was great and Omega Strain was ahead of its time with online co-op missions. I would like the first 4 remade.

They actually made 3 Die Hard games for the PS1 they weren't great and had nothing to do with the plot.

To tell the truth, even though I own SF2, SF3 and Dark Mirror (I still have to get The Omega Strain and... erm, is it Logan's Shadow the other one is called?), I have not played them yet. :(
