Up here in the north (New Jersey) we get False Albacore also known as little tunny. We also get Atlantic Bonito (different species). But as far as I know people in the south call False Albacore Bonito. That fish was what we would call a False Albacore. Also you should try small castmasters/snapper zapper spoons to match those small minnows. Just replace the hook. Good luck!👍🏼
False Albacore. We get them in New England every fall and they are a blast! I have caught them in my kayak and have a couple videos of it on my channel. Almost time for them again.
Looks like a Bonita, black stripes on the back above the ventral fins only, and a black skipjack has the black stripes and light colored stripes on the belly.
In Hawaii we call them kawakawa or wavyback skipjack tuna. Great eating after cutting out blood meat. Pan sear medium rate with furikake season coating broke da mouth ono!
So for those walkies you have be sure once you are out in the ocean you clear out the water or it is very garbled sounding I blow on them really hard on the speaker area or they do have a BURP feature. Next time catch some of those bait fish in a small cast net and toss one of them out... They will be sure to bring you in whatever is chasing them. Great video.
That is a Bonita... it is in the tuna family and as far as I can tell A "Little Tunny" is the same fish. A Bonito is a different fish entirely and is in the mackerel family and has a different fin configuration and side markings.
Ty, that is a Little Tunny. A lot of people on the gulf call them a bonito(just a local common name). The spots behind the pectoral fins are a definite give away. From what I understand, they are actually good eating, you just have to bleed them and soak they meat for like 24 hours or something. Caught one about 12# out there last year. Want to talk about a fight!
In the south we call them Bonita up north they are false albacore or little tunny a bonito is an Atlantic fish more straighter bars on them same tuna family different fish
A Bonita is the same as a little tunny and get a lot bigger and fight harder where a bonito is more like a skip jack but smaller and don’t fight as hard and are closely to related to a mackerel
They are all the same fish, just different nick names for the fish. They are great bait!! not good to eat, but I know some folks do after they bleed them out REAL good, maybe thats the trick
the Storm drains ,??, I never heard that before , just mind boggling just outstanding ,, excuse me while I pickup my jaw , catches them where ? Am I amazed ? , yes I am amazed !!!
south east texas and south louisisana is swampy. rice fields, bayous, canals.... they all connect. fish get in the drains, ditches , heck I've had them swimming in the yard on a rainy day!
San diego Ca is a desert ,, send water !! until the earthquakes make Calif. an island nothing in my yard except rocks and cactus , fishing in my yard just Bizarre
That's a falsie. Not good eating but great bait! Super bloody... Also known as a little tunny, Spotted Bonito or Bonita. Atlantic Bonito (different fish all together) make a spring run up here, and make KILLER sushi. I've heard people eat the falsie, but eh...
