That MAD-RSC that Bara fought, when he used the ASRMs for the first time, is the ONLY mech in the game that can fit and use a Spinal Mount Heavy Gause Rifle.
Spend all the time in space that you need to. Build videos are fun! 😁 I built a Stalker with ASRMs, and if I don't lock on, the groupings are so tight that I can core out an Atlas! Screw lock on and targeting multiple components, just dummy fire and it's tighter than an LBX.
Baradul, in the Zeus build, you added a double-bin of LRM ammo to the right leg, but left a single-bin in the right torso. Three tons is a lot of ammo for an LRM-10, so I think you just forgot to take the single-bin out.
I got an Atlas with the T. Comp mk VIII. 3 C ER Large Pulse Lasers. There were other weapons, but frankly, they were rarely used. I carved things apart. I kind of want to put one on a Dire WOlf loaded up with C ER mediums, just to insta-core any mech I run into.
The huge targeting computer at minute 3 does wonderful things to the Awesome Pretty Baby. The quirks on the PB stack with the computer, and, if you can cool it, you end up with 3 Clan ER PPC's that are constantly available and absurdly rapid to target (you don't have to lead targets).
1:57 funny enough, it also extends the range of melee weapons. yes, you read that right. edit : 4:28 must've accidentally hit the capslock button, toggling the torso twist. iirc its a YAML thing. ran into that once, had me confused for quite a while
Yeah, that got me, too:) From the *Yet Another Mechlab* (YAML) Description: "Adds Torso Counter-Rotation - the same as in the vanilla game, now with a keybind toggle. Keyboard bindings for the above can be set in Options / Controls / Mods at the bottom." You can see this in Baradul's games when he f.e. switches heat vision on or off. The YAML overlay that is displayed in those moments has a remark what hotkeys are defined. BTW CAPS LOCK, crap ... the most useless key since the "extinction" of the generic typewriter in the wild. It can at least be disabled for windows (with a registry patch) ... what I had on my old Win7 system. Now with that switched on, on Win10 ... I am a real victim, because all sensitivity for NOT touching that annoying key is gone:) Well, a not so lazy person (I am accusing myself here, hehehe) would just clear the keybinding (see above) and all is good:) I wish you good games and fun playing, Mechwarrior WYT Fish:)
Back in the original Battletech there were missiles that acted like the missiles on your Archer. They were called Heartseekers. They targeted the power plants of mechs. Unfortunately they were retconned out of the game.
2:00 - RAC/5 (or UAC20, LBX10, etc) + Mk8 Targeting comp = devestation. You only have 1 weapon to risk instead of 2, 1 weapon to feed ammo to, and 1 point of convergence to worry about. There are a lot of circumstances where 1 gun maximally buffed is better than a boat of other guns.
I use the Targeting Comp Mk 8 on a King Crab Carapace build with UAC 20s. It's pretty good with the range, and the projectiles basically become hitscan with the increased velocity. And I can't believe Baradul enables counter-rotation on torso twist! Heathen!
Was an accident ... he said, hehehe:) YAML has the option to switch this behavior via keybinding. From the *Yet Another Mechlab* (YAML) Description: "Adds Torso Counter-Rotation - the same as in the vanilla game, now with a keybind toggle. Keyboard bindings for the above can be set in Options / Controls / Mods at the bottom." You can recognize this in Baradul's games when he f.e. switches heat vision on or off. The YAML overlay that is displayed in those moments has a remark what hotkeys are defined. Thank you for the build suggestion, Kelevin:)
targeting computer mark 8 actually has strong, specific usage. I just built a gauss rifle hero dire wolf (-25% gauss coodown) and advanced ballistic fcs with 4 level 4 gauss rifles and 4 er medium lasers. Just for giggles I took off one of the rifles and added the targeting computer mk 8....significant increase in the build's dps for 4 less tons and no ammunition usage (effectively saving even more tonnage). I imagine any hero mech with a large bonus to cooldown times for any weapon could benefit similarly.
ASRMs are absolutely bonkers. You can even cheese the lock on stuff by targeting something you aren't trying to burst down so you can deadfire them where you want to, in the event you want to leg a mech or whatever. I ran the Agincourt with 4 ASRM4s, 2 Clan Artemis LRM15s and a bunch of short burst MLs and it was my highest damage mech by a fair margin even long into having a full Assault mech lance.
I told you about the streaks bro! Should experiment with all different kinds of weapons that you would otherwise have passed over, even if they aren't absolutely optimum they can be tons of fun.
I can't even imagine the computational power of a 8 ton computer made using today's tech. Also the rare times you are under weight but have a free slot you can put an armor module on and get extra armor in that spot.
Oh, that is easy: An 8 ton computer is exactly 2.5 Crays or 9.85 IBMs. (I hope this joke isn't to disturbing/confusing ... Hehehe.) Thanks for the good suggestion about the armor mods! I myself sometimes stick and peel that free space with ... who would've guessed it ... "Stick & Peel":) Have a good game, Mechwarrior XO SO:)
I just started playing a few weeks ago. I read Decision at Thunder Rift and The Sword and the Dagger back in the 80's. I stopped reading around the late 90's. I am totally lost when it comes to the "new tech". Watching the AMS chew up your missiles was kind of shocking. I have a lot of the technical readouts, maybe I need to go read them.
There is a hotkey to switch that behavior on and off. From the *Yet Another Mechlab* (YAML) Description: "Adds Torso Counter-Rotation - the same as in the vanilla game, now with a keybind toggle. Keyboard bindings for the above can be set in Options / Controls / Mods at the bottom." You can recognize this in Baradul's games when he f.e. switches heat vision (PgDn) on or off. Put Thermal Mass in your Archer! The Thermal Mass equipment are actually pretty cool, literally, because they continually activate every 20 seconds for however much their level is (I, II, III). I picked up an Awesome Pretty Baby and with proto heatsinks/kit and Thermal Mass his quad clan ppc is just dumb.... I my Goblin who has 20 skill in heat management and 14ish laser skill in the awesome... just obliterates enemies...
I ❤ my 6x SRM6 hero archer. I got the carapace with 4x tier 5 uac/5. Still like the archer better. It's too much fun to play. Get behind things. You can take down an atlas with a single alpha if you hit right. I definitely need to find ASRMs though. That would make this build so much better. Also, AI pilots do not touch my archer. It's MINE.
I love the Agincourt. I have more than enough assaults, but I take it almost every time. The 4 UAC5 (tier 5, all of them) KCB has higher dps on paper, but because it moves and turnes so slowly I do more with the archer, while taking less damage. It is good for npcs though.
@@RincetheWind Yeah, you need to pilot very specifically to not get destroyed. The AI just can't do that well enough. It's best to put them in longer range, high armor mechs. AI in the Carapace is great.
When you swapped the engine in the Archer I believe you lost two of your Proto heatsinks which made your heat differential worse. you didn't add them back to the Mech after swapping the engine and losing two engine heatsink slots.
He said this is only a prototype. I think your suggestion gets automatically taken into account when the appropriate Type-300 engine is put in (one more engine heatsink slot). That 295 was only a botch. Anyways, I had the same thoughts as you, when that happened. Maybe he surprises us with something completely different ... as usual:)
Mach weiter so !

why did you not take the small advanced cockpit at 40min playtime 1 more ton for 1 of your mechs . your asrm range max is around 600m at higher tier + mods can increase it a little more, you also took some heatsinkt out of the mech when you changed the engine the archer and you didn´t put them back in
That size Targeting Computer can make 2 Heavy Rifles preform like 2 Gauss Rifles, but with higher alpha strike, less tonnage and the added benefit of buffing any other weapons on the mech. Downside is its a lot hotter, needs more ammo per tonne. I you put this on the MadCat you have you'd a Ballistics cooldown of -45%(20% from the quirk and 25% from the Targeting Computer), which should reduce the reload speed of the Heavy Rifles to 4.4 seconds. Of course you could drop the size the of Targeting Computer down for more space and tonnage and still receive a sizeable benefit overall.
53:18 - This is the base game's problem, you ALWAYS come up one short. I use Purchase Salvage as a buffer for this, and just self-regulate to 1 additional share can be purchased. I can not stand being 1 point short, and having absolutely no flex... it doesn't seem realistic, and it certainly isnt fun.

Lol, ya need to pay more attention to your builds. Don't rush it for video time sake, even if you have to do it off camera. You lost several prototype heatsinks and a ton of cooling on that engine swap and it hurt because you rushing
I thought the point of the game was to build Op Mechs so that you don't have to repair very often, and delete others quickly. If you don't think that's the premise I believe you're doing something horribly wrong, you should really figure that out and make changes to the way you play. Plus I've noticed a lot of your decisions are very wasteful towards the money that you have and it's a disgrace to the way you treat the mech you own.
