So sorry to hear about your hearing issues, Lou. I've had constant loud tinnitus, hyperacusis, recruitment, and poor auditory discrimination since September, 1993. The hardest part with all that was getting past the anxiety, and eventually getting used to it all, accepting it, and then learning to adjust and live well with these conditions. You mentioned that "animals adjust". That's excellent knowledge and so true. Keep that thought and hang in there. Best wishes!

I would buy a Lou Barlow hand drawn calendar with release dates, etc. of everything Lou-related. (Don’t forget the one-offs like Belt Buckle!)

Lou there is an amazing live performance on here, the one called: "Lou Barlow as Sentridoh - songs from Weed Forestin' (live at Origami Vinyl)". Any chance you could release that on CD? That is one of my favorite pieces of live music EVER!! The early Seb/Sent stuff would be amazing played live on a release!! BTW....is that a baritone ukelele you play on that performance??

Thanks for talking about this much-avoided topic. I have low-level tinnitus just from listening and recording at home and have often wondered what it's like for someone constantly exposed to insanely loud music (like if you had to stand next to J Mascis night after night, for example). Can it even be enjoyable to perform under those conditions?

I protect myself with -30db earplugs and -22 wax plugs over them.. I can actually hear the music far better that way.. I think most of my real damage comes from home recording tbh.. and not extracting my ear plugs properly

Was so happy last night to hear you do "Garden"
Sad to know your hearing is giving you problems Lou, no one would have a clue about it to hear you sing.
      You were pitch perfect brother.
And on behalf of all in attendance last night...We Love You Too Lou!!!

Lou, I've had the exact same thing happen with my ear. In my experience, it's 100% due to some sort of congestion/cold type thing AND loud sounds. You should pick one but not both! Easier said than done sometimes but either way, it'll pass. I guarantee it.

Get yourself a neti pot. Use filtered water in it.
