Thanks Ryan, for rejuvenating my M5. E39 Source is the one and only stop for all your BMW needs.. Ryan puts the BMW official service dealers to shame with his expertise. If you want 5 star service for your baby this is your place..
Wow, this video is truly impressive! Ryan's extensive and meticulous understanding of BMW E39 M5s is absolutely commendable. I've had the pleasure of seeking his guidance and advice for my own M5 over the past few years, and his generosity and kindness have been exceptional. The showcased E39 M5 is a stunning representation of its kind. I'm eagerly anticipating the opportunity to entrust my own M5 to Ryan in the near future. Having him as a subject matter expert in the BMW community is truly remarkable!
Hi Kamran, thank you so much for this comment! It is an honor to turn something that I am so passionate about into a career. I thank you for your continued support and trust, and most definitely hope to be able to work together in the near future!
I no longer drive an E39 540 (graduated to M3) but I still thoroughly enjoy this channel and your content. That E39 generation was special for a reason
Years ago I came across one of your videos and you got my attention then. After so many years, you still got my attention today. Your passion for BMWs and especially E39 5Ms is exceptional (someday I will have one, I only have a 97 540i now). The way you describe and explain what you do to the cars, not to mention the way make your point across in the videos is just SECOND to none. Hlad to know you have come from being content creator, parts supplier and now providing services to these beautiful machines. Keep up the good work and God bless.
I wish I lived closer to have E39Source go through my 540i. I've decided I am not going to attempt the timing chain service myself, I don't have the tooling. I've done as much as I can in my shop. BMW northwest referred me to Kassel Motorsports for the undercarriage clean and timing job. I did the upper timing chain covers, intake manifold internals and a multitude of other hoses and parts got replaced, my car does not leak any fluids whatsoever now. I'll be doing the transmission internal harness to address the trans temp code as I've determined the in line temp sensor is faulty. That's my next job, after that my attention will move to the rims and front bumper paint.

Nice work! A pleasure watching this althow I kind of miss the wrenching videos. As a side note I dont think will bother anyone to mention the cost of the job well done, parts and laber…
I have a very similar M, 2003 same silver and interior, and even 58k so very close. What do you get for the E exhaust and X pipe? Is it a significant increase in HP and does it need a tune?
Hi Ryan! Thanks for another great video. Regarding the two short brake lines under the hood, do you need to bleed the ABS pump using software after replacing those? I’d really like to replace them on my car, but don’t have access to any special software.
Thank you! Each project is unique, but parts delays (from Germany) dragged this one out to about 6-8 weeks. We'd love to help you with your LeMans! Feel free to reach out at ryan@e39source.com
I have a question, I have the same car, and have noticed that the passenger side wheel is more towards the inside of the arc, after alignment everything seem fine but I know something is off. Given your experience could this be wheel bearing, control arms!? Thanks
@E39source Another question, my dcs light came on and goes away when the car is cold, as soon as it warms up it comes back up, just the dcs light, nothing more, any thoughts?
Hey those clips on the cabin filter vents look different from my E39 528i, mine are destroyed and don't lock anymore where can I get those newer looking ones?
Early E39s (-04/1998) used a different style of snorkel; I have only ever seen these on one customer car, a 1997 528i. I imagine you could install the newer style, but you'd need to replace the lower cabin boxes as well.
@@jensgerdes45 The customer has chosen to keep that figure private. My prices are fair and competitive, but of course restoring a 20+ year old BMW to perfection is not a cheap task.
