Watching videos like this, really makes me miss my old panther. She was a retired P7B from a local police department. Completely documented with pictures from when she was in service to the auction that I bought her from. Along with a little booklet of repairs, inspections and what not. A well-taken-care-of crown Vic for 123k miles on her. She was fitted with 3.55 gears, rare silicone hoses, a black and white color scheme, bulletproof doors, Mstar wiring harness, a spotlight and a laptop mount. I named her Jocelyn and she was honestly, the most reliable car I owned. Such a blast to drive. Such an intimidating presence on highways. I miss every second of driving that behemoth. I ended up giving it to my brother as his first car. He never appreciated it as much as I did and even though I had purchased a brand new Ford Focus, I found myself trying to barter with my little brother to get Jocelyn back. Well, I never got to buy it off him as he spun out and wrecked her against a guardrail. Totaling her. I ended up trading-in my Focus for a Wrangler and even now I find myself looking at marauders and retired police cruisers again. Nothing beat that comfort, reliability, sounds and feel of that old panther body and I will 110% be buying another one.
@@BlackTownie999 Premium is right. A lot can be done with the suspension on a budget. HPP rear roll bar is half way between stock and ADTR bar. HPP rear bar from the junkyard is cheap. I installed Moog endlinks and poly bushings to tighten up steering and handling. KYB shocks take car of dampening. These mods make a real difference.
Very nice car. I just did similar suspension mods to my marauder. I figured the ride was gonna suffer and you confirmed that. Working on making transmission stronger now and next is the engine. I have a 2010 gt500 blower planned for this one. I started this couple years ago and can’t get over how popular these old panther cars still are. It’s great to see

I've got a 2000 Grand Marquis. The key to cornering such a couch is using the Jackie Stewart technique - stay ahead of the car, don't allow ANY control inputs to be harsh or sudden enough to be felt except in changing the speed or direction of the chassis. Properly executed, Marq's handling, stock though she is, is wonderfully neutral and predictable... And pretty damn fast for a couch.
It's been 10 years since the last crown vic and 25 years since the last bronco if that says anything mabey in 15 years the crown vic name might come back. And hopefully it will retain the legendary status it has Iike the bronco did my opinion I liked the broncos new design a lot.

Zack, you can do headers, a mild camshaft, bigger gears, trickflowheads, an E85 tune, intake and ignition upgrades and you can see as much as 370rwhp, (naturally aspirated) if you stroke out that motor you can get up into the 400whp numbers. Also ADTR has a supercharger kit that is a direct bolt on for these cars. While it is not cheap to upgrade, the 4.6L is very very capable. Also, the crown Vic police interceptors have very heavy duty suspension and sway bars with the later 05+ models having NASCAR adjustable suspension and/or air suspension that virtually eliminate body roll and make for late generation dodge-challenger-like handling. -you do realize those cup holders retract open to accept multiple sized cups right? Lol good intro video overall but bro you need to check out ADTR panther website.
@@charlie_nolan Take the entire top end of the motor out and replace it from a short block, upgrade the coil packs and spark plugs, completely redo the exhaust, tuning to the ECM, and putting a different differential gear that's more aggressive.
Actually, by the time Ford pulled the plug on the Panther platform cars, this model was nearing its 20th birthday (the overall platform dated back to 1979, with a complete body and interior redesign for the 1992 model year). A whole ton of new safety regulations was about to come down the pike, and Ford did not want to invest the millions of dollars it would have taken to update the platform to current safety standards. I might add that sales had been declining for several years for these cars, many of its former customers turning to SUV's instead. Ford was in a tough spot with these cars. I have always liked these cars, but I can understand Ford's position too. Get one while you can.
Hmm I owned both Lesabre and Vic at the same time- loved both but you can’t compare in any way… totally diff FWD vs RWD, V6 vs V8, unibody vs body on frame… You’d have to compare them to GMs last boats: the 91-96 Caprice, Roadmaster… with that LT1
I’ve never had any issues predicting what my Panther cars would do in a corner. But both of them had/have handling packages from the factory. Current one is a 98 Town Car Signature Series Touring. Very predictable handling and for a big car, it’s fun in the curves.
Nice car. Nice to see someone doing the rear suspension mods that the Panther platform really needs but are way expensive. For me, I'd ditch the 19's and go with 17's or 18's max.
Wait how is this a 2011 Civilian model? Crown Vics were fleet sale only from 09-11 (2012 in other countries). The Grand Marquis and Town Car went all the way til 2011 though.

My 2011 police package does have a very stiff and uncomfortable ride actually. It can corner quite well for the size car it is but this one is likely way better
i did my rear shocks with "moog heavy duty" and i bounce all over the road. my stock motorcraft police shocks were 3x stiffer. i miss them and will get stiffer ones soon. nothing like hitting a hump and people think u will bounce off the road when instead you straighten out immediately

Oh you can do a ton of performance upgrades on this motor. Lol. Glad it's not lifted 30 feet in the air with big stupid rims on them as usual. Plus the Chevy SS didn't get the love it deserved.
Chevy's two king sized mistakes with the SS were that no one wanted to pay $46k new out the door for one, and secondly, Chevy didn't offer a manual transmission option until a few model years later. By the time Chevy got its collective act together with the car, GM was already in the process for closing the Australian factory in 2017. Too little, too late.

Wrong, this was the Last Great CANADIAN rear drive V8 sedan....The TOWN CAR Was the LAST Great AMERICAN one. Also killed off in 2011

Ford 4.6 is the basis of Koenigsegg super car engine, good for nearly 300 mph.
