Gurl, I feel you in sewing for the life you want! There are two main Fashion Advantages to being over 60; 1) I can sew anything I want, from any era, and 2) I can wear it ANYWHERE cuz I do NOT give a hoot what people think! Do I look like an 1865 Schoolmarm today? Why, yes I do! Is it an excellent conversation starter? Yes it is! Was I a 1783 Pirate last week? Yes I was! 1972 Flower Child for Early Voting yesterday? Of course! It’s very fun to give up on societal fashion expectations and FINALLY be ME all the time!

I love being a senior and a sewist. I entertain the heck out of myself by dressing how I choose. My friend and I also voted in our flower child garb. Was a statement made. I hope so. Best to you! and thank you for voting.

I don't mind how old the content is, I'll always watch you, Bianca, and be inspired! 😊
Btw I totally understand the Covid cough situation, being at the tail end of my third dose of the plague since it first reached our shores... 😟 I'm still testing positive but did manage a couple of decent nights' sleep this week, after several nights when even sedatives were not able to counteract the complete congestion and tickly cough night-time purgatory 😢 In the UK now you have to be age 65 or over to get a free Covid or Flu jab, and I'm only 64, so obviously the State doesn't care if I suffer... 😠 Hey ho. At least I can watch your wonderful vintage-inspired creations to cheer me up! 😊

Thankyou. FYI I’ve watched you for five or more years now I think and I think I can see how you have l “become a better sewist” in that time. I seem to feel since you made this video (it’s an older one, 2020) I’ve seen a tonne of the hand sewing and more french seams that. You said was rare for you when you recorded the video. You have inspired me and with a bonfit bodice and skirt pattern system I have made for me a double cape coat(pad stitch and stay tape and welt pockets) based on the Mary Poppins returns blue coat and my version of the mccalls 7153. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your tuition. My mum sews extensively but has never done pattern drafting. I have also pattern drafted (Liz Haywood zero waste wrap skirt) for myself and friends. Currently working on a steampunk/victorian cycling outfit. And May attempt a simple corset too. You are an inspiration and Thankyou to the patreon supporters and your willingness to teach.

What an appropriate video to watch while I myself am on the uphill battle that is getting over Covid. It's my 2nd bout overall, and is entirely different from the first one, when the symptoms were almost entirely digestive. This one is very much as you describe. Didn't occur to me until you mentioned it that I could try sleeping propped up to limit nighttime coughing.

u know what really helps with that kind of cough......a warm air humidifier. and sometimes keeping a lozenge in your cheek will help. i dont know if a cold humidifier helps or not because i hate the cold ones so i only use the hot ultrasonic ones. but the warm air ones really helped me a ton.

22:17 That "Line of stitching" is what I call a stay stitch and I SS all of my pattern pieces. For some reason avoiding SS reminds me of that Downy Ultra fabric softener commercial where the guy was on a date and he had that stretched-out neckband😂. I don't ever want to be that person.

Love this design 6:00 in rayon is bamboo dear other viewers, it’s a silk substitute and as durable and if you pre wash the bulk fabric first your final product will be washable and stain resistant iron able and very minimal shrinkage with that first wash, so yes this was a perfect choice for this garment ❤🎉🌈

Might be worth speaking to Stephanie Canada as she bought a HUGE amount of vintage fabrics, findings etc last year. I think her website is backroom finds, but it’ll likely be linked over on her channel.
Add honey to herbal tea - it’s also good for fighting infections. I’d also suggest speaking to a pharmacist about a suitable antihistamine for you, especially at night. It can help calm things down and help alleviate a cough, but you’d also need to check what’s in your cough medicine, but a standard antihistamine can work wonders. My theory is the immune system revs up to fight the infection, but then decides temporarily that other known allergens are a problem when they’re not before. A night time cough is also down to being the only way the lungs can clear themselves of crud when you’re not moving around. I have to go dairy free with respiratory infections to help that! Again, chat to your primary care doctor or pharmacist for advice

It's pretty usual for DSLR camera's, I think some go up to 30 minutes 😅 I believe it has something to do with regulations on the classification of the cameras and if they can record for longer the tariffs/taxes on them are different. Some serious nonsense basically.

They wore such pretty dresses back then. We were taught how to walk, sit, stand, and get in and out of autos in dresses (and skirts and blouses). Young women today have no idea how to properly wear a dress. I will never forget the two young women wearing vintage white nylon slips as outer dresses at Goodwill. I wasn't the only one trying to tell them that those slips are undergarments (not dresses). Your Dress is beautiful on you.
