EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL BACKSTAGE, INTERVIEWS AND SOUNDCHECKING, A RARE FOOTAGE WHICH I BELIEVE WAS NEVER AIRED, INCLUDES SHOW OPENING WITH TARKUS CUT. ENJOY!
Greg talks about the 1992 Budapest show. Well, my parents were there, my mum pregnant with me! Perhaps that's why I'm such a big ELP fan: listening to them live before I was born!
Greg looks great here: very healthy and his eyes just shine. I wish with all my heart that he could get back to the weight he was at when this was filmed. Love the guy to bits!
Greg and Carl don't mind talking, but Keith would rather jam than talk. I'm surprised he's not pacing back and forth, or waiting by the door. It's hard to get Keith to warm up, but if something actually interests him, he'll talk a little.
Please listen closely American fans. This is how English is spoken, with complete sentences (hardly any sorta, kinda etc) and less hyperbole. I am of a similar persuasion. 😂 😉 🇬🇧👍🇺🇸
When Graig corrected himself about Venezuela.... I thought... yeah, you´re right, ...not Venezuela... (why wasn´t I surprised?) but still it was nice to know he had it in mind.
I will never forget the Seattle concert with "Welcome back riff soaring thru a quadraphonic system with speakers placed throught the arena. THE BEST. They talk about the venue, sonic and there musical vision. 3 intelligent gentlemen.
Keith: "There's been a lot of cheating that's been going on, I think today...within studio albums".. Fast-forward to today, it's ALL cheating! Auto tuned "vocals", computer quantized recording & fake, mimed "performances". Cheating = norm, not exception.
Oddly, he seemed to be implying that live was somehow more honest, which I think is mostly the opposite of that, & also that everybody has been doing that (cheating live) forever.
The next studio album Greg Lake talks about at the end is In the Hot Seat, which was a failure. The producer had very bad things to say about the band, such as uncommitted, unprofessional and so on. It was a somewhat surprising outcome, because with Black Moon and the live shows following it they seemed to be back on track.
I am a bit of a broken geezer. Being destroyed in Scotland. Anyone got any properties around Todmorden for me, a couple of moog and a polybrute before I end up dead. Truly dying here, would even live among the witches of Mytholmroyd if they wanna help heal this man. Please,........as............anuva clutcher on the way. X
Good to see you Emerson without the fake plastic moustache nose and glasses attire you would often wear as you rose out of the stage playing organ at Tower Chuffin Ballroom. Are ye still there or has the church stopped hunting you to play at Canterbury Cathedral now? God's work an all that. Any property for rent in Todmorden would be great to rent before they put me back on the aircraft as it creams in on way to Manchester from my time working for UNPROFOR in The Balkans. I am losing hope, and heart, and life. Xxx
Josh Moss I found his comments enlightening as well as the others. Later in life some of his interviews do very much appear he had been drinking. Such is life, let us beware our self how to handle the emotional and physical pain which comes with aging and the diminishing of our abilities. I hope we all learn. Being a key player it is an honor that we have been able to capture these moments and musical events for generations to come. He will be remembered as one of the great composer/ players of all time.

I was working nights then, and resentfully passed the joyful peep waiting in line to enter.

Keith only checked his watch like twice.
They thought Kieth was taking notes during a business meeting once, instead he was paying no attention and was writing music.

Keith was a Scorpio♏, Greg was a Scorpio♏ too, Carl is a Pisces♓...and I'm a Pisces♓ too! Hahaha😂❤💧💧🌊🌊
Your point is?
They are also just very nice guys!
In a way it’s sad to watch, knowing that Keith and Greg went to another universe.

Keith Greg 😢😢
Keith either really HATES doing interviews or he's Drunk. I'm going on appearances, here.

Very opportune remark, HammondDave. Keith was totally out of tune.

7:02 what is Carl doing
Signaling for something perhaps. Maybe lotion for his hands before the show
