@thomassaballa keep oil in it. Check the oil level weekly, before you start the engine. The dip stick tube is an oil drain hole for the head. After you start the engine your oil level will no appear correctly until it sits a hour or so. Thats the big killer of the vqs, low oil level. 🤙🤙
Wait till it rains and turn traction control off. I can’t drift my g37 but I can powerslide the shit out of it when it’s a little slippery. If it’s slightly wet or there is gravel on the road, it’s can slide pretty well but not for super long
You can find them I just copped one for $2,600. He wanted 3200 but it had a lot of miles on it. But it was completely stock and well taken care of. It just needs new bushings and ball joints. It's an X so parts cost a little bit more. About to throw a throttle body spacer and plenum spacer for it. Got new valve covers w/ gaskets and coil packs for only 60 bucks! Going to install CAI there's a perfect spot for the air filter in the driver side bumper. It grips like crazy and I can pull the awd fuse for full RWD fun. It's a great car, I've owned a 95 M3, 90 300zxTT, a 02 Z28 Camaro, and a fully tuned 94 Maxima that I dropped. This G35 is one of the better cars I've had. No where near as fast as the 300zxTT and Z28. But has enough torque to have fun. After the bolt ons I may be pushing around 280hp and torque. It's just a great reliable car for what you pay for it. Plus the VQ is extremely reliable. There's ones that have close to 300k with no issues. So I know it'll last me a few yrs. I'm at 190k right now and it drives great. Engine is strong and no issues other than your basic wear and tear. I have a minor oil leak which I think is the o ring to the oil cooler. Which is common for these engines. I'll be installing an oil catch can too. Even though it's not boosted, due to how the pcv system is designed they are known to expell oil pooling into the lower intake. I hope after I finish doing everything to it, that it'll last another 100k. Highly recommend getting one, just get one from an older person who hasn't modded it and ran it into the ground yet.

@@Mr_jz_12 2 jz engines blew and had a multitude of problems and they had far more problems than me... my only issue on drift week was a minor electrical gremlin that was cause by a aftermarket tune! i youtube so sensationalising my minor breakages is what i do
A lot of it is due to oil negligence, even the washer on the oil drain plug can wear out and cause oil to leak. Galley gaskets are another thing to take care of. If these things are taken care of then the G runs like a champ.
Curious how many miles his engine has? Especially if it can handle a shot of No² being completely stock. I was always under the impression that the stock block and internals can handle anything under 500hp. My friends father had one with an Eaton Supercharger back when these were fairly new cars. It ran fine but had to keep the boost down. I'd just be worried that nos would blow my manifold. I'm going to drive mine until it taps out, then do a motor swap. The sedan and coupe are timeless imo.
The only thing I don't like about G's is the exhaust that sounds like a dying cow yelling into a megaphone and the mpg for daily driving isn't great. Hell of a drift car though
Mine gets 20mpg and I'm steadily mobbing it. Average 80mph on freeways taking over 100mph every now and then. Mine is also pushing close to 200k. It was getting around 18mpg when I bought it. Have only seafoamed it and an additive to clean the fuel system which did the trick. About to give it a tune up and install new valve covers. There's a small leak which is understandable due to it being 16yrs old. There's also a small leak on the o ring Gasket to the oil cooler which is an easy fix. So I've been putting about a qt of oil every 2 wks. But I've been putting like 400 miles a WK lately. After I fix my leak issue, I'm going to clean the drive train since I'll have the valve covers off. Throw in new plugs and coil packs. I got a plenum spacer and throttle body spacer waiting to install with CAI. So I should get even better gas mileage after that. It's a reliable car and for an older engine it sounds great. I agree on how some of these aftermarket exhaust sound. I like the stock sound personally. If I do anything I'll just delete the cats and run test pipes and keep stock mufflers.
I wish someone would donate their time to edit for him. I'd have a hard time editing all that in a timely manner too when you've got a shit ton of stuff recorded that happened before and still filming all the new events he puts on. Still worth the wait though!
