FREE Camping Doesn't Go As Planned! (Red Shale Custer Forest MT)

In this episode of Wandering Wagners we travel from Quartz Flat to a ‪@LovesTravelStops‬ in Hardin, Montana for the night then went to the Hardin ‪@koacampgrounds‬ to dump and refill our fresh water. This is always a great option because it is only $10 to dump and refill with potable water at most campgrounds.
Then we arrived at our next destination, Red Shale Campground in the Custer National Forest in Ashland, MT. This is all first come first serve and FREE and you can stay for 14 days max. We chose site 2 and Loved the beautiful scenery! It was unloved but we made it work. It is all dry camping so we put our ‪@RichSolarTalk‬ panels and our ‪@BLUETTIOfficial‬ Solar panels and power stations along with our ‪@Redodopower‬ LiFePo4 Battery to good use yet again!
The downfall here was all of the yellow jacket wasps! They were everywhere and loved to swarm around you. Luckily we aren't allergic because we all ended up getting stung, everyone except Guy!
Later we traveled back to Mitchell South Dakota where we stayed at the Mitchell ‪@koacampgrounds‬ KOA. We really wanted to get full hook ups to do laundry and Mike really wanted to have a site that was power since we've been doing so much dry camping lately.
We did some re-stocking at ‪@Walmart‬ which was great because this Walmart allows overnight parking which is awesome! Unlike the ‪@CabelasHunting‬ store here in Mitchell! Finally we stopped at ‪@tractorsupply‬ right before closing to get dog food restocked too.
Next we are off to Iowa!
